I prefer the Chinon Bellami upon the Olympus XA2, the shutter button in XA2 fires when it want, the Chinon have the 1/1000s speed . The only disappoint with Chinon is the flappy lens opening system, when you are on the street every one in the range of five meters will heard it...
After watching this I did what I often do after seeing your videos -- went out immediately and bought one! I think you were a little harsh describing it as "flimsy." I was surprised to find it fairly solid in hand and indeed it weighs a few grams more than my Olympus XA while also being measurably smaller! Some engineering went into this. Mine is plain black; no red velvet unfortunately. The shutter isn't exactly inspiring but then again neither is the XAs. Image quality acceptable, not an XA. Barn doors.. priceless!!
Japan Camera Hunter Well, if one of the cons of a film camera made in 1980’s is that it is “old”, for sure. I assume cameras made in the 70’s must be utter garbage for you then. Please start giving some real and useful info on the cameras.
This would be my first film camera as i just got it. But i dont see the lens "opening up" from the inside even when i eject the lens outward.. Am i suppose to see it open from the inside when doing so? It just stays closed. Id hate to waste time and film just to get nothing out of it. Thanks
Chinon made some world class lenses, even for the notoriously anal Swiss of ALPA, so it's a shame they put your name on one of the crappiest things they ever made. Noticed they extra production values in this one, keep up the good work.
Love this series Bellamy. But I would reccomend you open a TIKTOK account as you can shrink theses down to 1 minute and all the kids are on tiktok. A boring video of a Mamiya RB67 there gets more than 50k likes! It is the place to be right now even for film photography.
For a second that "red suede" looks like someone from Etsy just glued on.

They will see the red velvet long before the hear the shutter.

HAHA NIKON TREVOR. Hey guy, grab me my Pentax Peter Paul & Mary
Great video, please do keep making more !
More to come!
Great job with the recent videos Bellami
Glad you like them!
I really love these compact reviews. If I may suggest something: bring the sound back up when you aren't talking. All the best!
I really enjoy these short vids, but I wish they included more test shots mate .
Thanks for not wearing lycra biking shorts XD
I didn't want people to watch just for my body...
Was just at the lake taking photos yesterday!
You've got a bike in Japan, lucky you! What a gorgeous day and a fun camera!
Looks like a fun lil banger.
Quite the opposite of me then...
Could I suggest a review of Cosina CX-2, the origin of the Lomo cameras.
One of these just sold in an online auction for $190.00. It was missing the case but included the flash and instructions.
Love the camera review
As a #ShittyCameraChallenge champion, I wholeheartedly approve this.
Bellamy, what town did you grow up in (in England)? Your accent matches your photo and presentation style so well.
I am a home counties boy. I grew up in the Oxfordshire/Buckinghamshire countryside. Thanks
Now I want a camera with my name on it. Great video. Love the story behind the camera. Keep them coming.
Thanks! Will do!
Excellent use of the word ’Borked’ keep up the excellent work Bellami :)
Thank you! 😃
An OLD film camera? No way!
Oh man my channel is going to be a bit of a shock for you.

@@jimitav Or you know, just don't watch. I don't care what you assume.
Cycling and film photography, what a guy!
Did you find out why this camera is named the Bellami edition? What are the horses about?
Honestly nice looks but honestly I would never use it for my photo projects

Concrapulations.
My neighborhood is called Bessa.
So... guess what camera i bought xD
Btw what Bessa means? Apart of a portuguese last name
What it wants to compete with: Olympus XA
What it really competes with: Lomo LC-A
the colnago tho
You can never go wrong with red velvet right?... right??
The guy in the profile pic is really you? Cause then, you look a lot like Rick Harrison
@@peskymacaw9033 C'est moi...
Nicks buy Nikons.
So, do you get a lot of shit for riding flats on a Colnago?
Yeah, but at least I don't walk like a goose when I get off.
For all the haters who said jch don’t take good photos or even photos 😆
And there are plenty. I have lost count of the amount of times I have been told my photography sucks. Thanks for the comment.
I'm sorry, but I must stop watching your channel.. Every time I watch a vid I end up on EBAY!!!

As far as I am aware I am too old for Tik Tok
