  • Let's uncover what secrets we can in this complete review of the EM-Smart Basic 2R! The EM-Smart Basic 2R is a mysterious piece of tech if nothing else. I wish we could have gotten a lot more technical with our review of this machine's specs and core components, but with those factors still shrouded in mystery I have a hard time recommending this unit to just anyone. Though it IS a complete fiber laser system with some drawbacks, if we take some time to consider its intended use and some of the benefits of a system like this, is 3PLasers capable of making up for its deficiencies?

    Great review! Many thanks to Alex and LE team.♥
    As the manufacturer of EM-Smart Basic 2R and a series of portable laser marking machines, we would like to take this chance to explain why it is not proper to expose the inside components in this way. This could also be an answer to the “unanswered questions” in this video.
    1) It involves our industrial design and our trade secret. It has to be mentioned that we've been once plagiarized by another company for our first machine, EM-Smart One. Even though we applied the design patent for that machine then, the malicious competitor was never competing in a legal or decent way. It's a bitter business lesson we've learned and it's also a bad case we want to avoid. So nothing to hide but something has to be protected.
    2) It goes against the Confidentiality Clauses of the agreements we've signed with our distributors and dealers. We totally understand Alex's good will to teach people how to disassemble or repair the machine, but that goodwill should not be at the cost of damaging the interest of EM-Smart and its partners.
    3) We do agree with Alex that consumers have the right to know what components are inside and we also respect the values and the integrity of Laser Everything as well as the best interest of the consumers. In my own perspective, this is a fairly factual and objective review for our machine and such kind of videos will be more valuable and referential than those just boasting in terms of guiding the customers. The same praises could go to this UA-cam Channel and Laser Master Academy. We do respect and appreciate everything Alex and LE team have been doing.
    4) What we might not agree is the way we show the components and structures inside the machine. Anyone who visits our website must have seen that we have put all details of the main parts including the manufacturer (such as Raycus, Max, and Sino-Galvo) and parameters on each product page (3plasers.com/collections/em-smart-laser), together with all certifications and qualifications for our products and factory on our website (3plasers.com/). We've been using genuine parts since the first machine we manufactured, so there is nothing like "mystery”, which is also not in line with EM-Smart’s values.

    I use this machine for 2 months now. It is my first laser machine.
    I am a jewellers and use this fiberlaser for engraving silver gold and steel. I like it and until now there are no limitations for me.

    I’m enjoying my Em-smart basic. Had a few snags with the red light system but eventually the company repaired it and now it is a great little machine.

    A review that was complete as possible (allowed) and concise. Thanks Alex and LE Team - job very well done with credibility.

      Thanks Alan, glad our audience understood the situation. It was sticky but I think we handled it as professionally as possible. It really is a decent machine and I stand by the score. Just disappointed with how things panned out as far as communication goes.

      Thanks so much for watching, glad you're getting value out of it. Maybe some day I can do a build haha we have a lot more teaching to do before we get to that but it sounds really fun, I'll add it to my (very long) list!

    I've been using the original version (Smart One) for about 9 months or so
    While they do fall short in some places, mainly power as it's only a 20W, they're great for jewelry, lighters and a few other things, just wish it had a rotary like the 2R

      Glad to hear you had a decent experience with it. The 2R has been a lot of fun and I feel like that extra 5w goes a long way for sure.

    No comment about the Rotary unit? The Main Feature og this Laser?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому +1

      Nothing notable, it's a rotary, does what it's supposed to do. I think there were far more interesting aspects of the experience to cover.

    Will I be able to mark stainless steel or aluminium in black text using this machine?

    • @LaserEverything
      @LaserEverything  Рік тому

      Stainless yes, aluminum probably not. Best you'll get is a dark gray.

      @@LaserEverything Love your work. So if I wanted to mark silver aluminium tags black, I'd either need a MOPA 50W or coated aluminium surface?
