Had my Mongar a while now, really good tent. I camp alone but feel the slight extra weight, all up with scran and some water generally about 14 kilos. is worth it for the twin doors, vestibules and ability to get all my kit inside the tent.

Hmm, did you tie out all your rain fly tie outs, looks like some are not tied to the poles. I did watch a video and then tried it my self, of setting up the tarp first in rainy conditions so you can setup the tent under it to keep it dry. Very cool location.
I think you're right I didn't tie to all poles but I survived the night and tried to get as much natural cover from the wind as I could. Thanks for the comment and watching
I should have my Mongar 2 early next week, I paid 200AUD for it, same colour as your's. Lots of great reviews on this tent. Fantastic Vlog mate, the scenery is incredible, I've never seen such beautiful countryside in my life.
@@outdoorgaz5 Thanks, It is stunning scenery, quite different to here in the north of Australia. Am glad I subscribed to your channel :-) I actually nearly bought a Lone Rider ADV tent but even with the 20% Black Friday discount, it was nearly 280 dollars more than the Naturehike and seeing what your tent has been through I reckon it's bullet proof :-)
They even sell it in stealthy purple!😆 Been looking at this tent as well in my search for a new tent for myself when wee ones are out every other weekend. Going to start camping more ( nature campgrounds as the Netherlands are quote strict as to wild camping: 150 euros). Tent seems ok, but still am leaning towards the Hexpeak V4a. Outlawed Landscapes really put that one through the ropes (or whatever the saving is lol) Awesome landscape, nice images! Cheers for sharing! No leaks.....Just from the nose😆
Hahaha yes a lot of leaks from the nose. I'll have to check out the Hexpeak. Hope you get out on some cool camping adventures soon. Thanks for watching 😁
I have the Naturehike Cloudup One, and I really like the tent, or I did, until I had it in a super windy place with little shelter, where it became unusable and I had to pack up and share my cousin's Phoxx II. I still like the Cloudup One, but I'll only use it if I know it's not going to be overly windy, because in high wind it's completely useless. I might try this one in future though, as it seemed to do a little better, with having the '4-points' of stability, as opposed to CloudUps 3-points.
I still use a Trangia but without the rest of the kit, just the burner, a concertina windshield and a pot stand made out of a wire coat hanger. Seems to work well unless I need to melt snow, which needs gas or a petrol stove.
@@markdarryllazo7097 Yes I do have the 210t I'm sorry for the confusion. I was sure I ordered the 20d. I made things a bit clearer in my last camp video. ua-cam.com/video/j7FPhS_ydcU/v-deo.html
Fellow Trangia/Mongar-packing hammock hanger here, had my Mongar early doors, just a little time after they first came out, so a fair few years now, and I’ve been very happy with it overall, the weight is bearable for the features, protection and comfort it affords, as well as the wind- and water shedding capabilities, I use it predominantly in the highlands, where I live. My Trangia set is over 30 years old and still bombproof. Though there are of course much lighter options for both tent and cook-set these days, I’ve not bothered to ‘upgrade’, preferring to stick with what works, and have used both items several times right up among the highest fishable lochs in Scotland with no dramas either getting there nor in use and sheltering from sometimes quite unpleasant squally weather. Good choices! Btw, the cross pole is meant to be set atop the main pole, not under it - it’s stronger and slightly roomier when it is set on top, per the instructions. Greetings from the Grampians 👍🏻
Nothing wrong with sticking with what works. We are in the highlands now so it should be a good test. Thanks for watching and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with a trangia.
We still use an old school meths stove. It was my girlfriend's grandma's and she refuses to ever part with it. I like it to be fair, takes a bit longer but what's the rush eh?
