- Unbox Nihonga art supplies that I ordered from Pigment Tokyo with me and my shiba inu puppies! I am excited about starting Nihonga painting. This is a Japanese painting style that started around the early 1900s but has roots in 8th c. Chinese and Japanese painting techniques. I love how the paint can appear both opaque and translucent. I love the misty effect that the mineral pigments can create. I also like that this art form encourages one to be meditative when creating art; you have to slow down and prepare your own canvas and mix your own paints. I hope to create more Nihonga tutorials as I learn more about this art form. For now, this is just an intro to the list of materials you'll need.

I recently visited that shop in Florence, I love different art techniques from all around the world but I think Japan has the most interesting! It is my dream to visit Japan and go to Saiun-do pigment shop in Kyoto. I want to visit all of the amazing old art shops around the world. I have a trip to Paris next year to visit charvin, sennelier and la maison du pastel. After that I want to save to visit Japan 🤞
There’s also a shop in London called L. Cornelissen and son and they sell beautiful pigments too ❤️ I’ve been. They sell Japanese brushes, so does zecchi in Florence, and I’ve seen sennelier in Paris sells nihonga pigments! So when I go to Paris I will definitely pick some up
Oh my goodness I would love to visit their shops in Florence Paris or Japan! Everything is so well made and colorful. I love antique/vintage art shops too!
Let me know how your Paris trip goes! I would love some recommendations.
Please more videos about nihonga!!
I plan to! Thank you for watching!
J' aime !!!!💙💜💙💜💙💜💙...
Merci beaucoup!
