I laughed out loud when your thumbnail popped up on my page. Having lived and worked through a long boring dark English winter is so worth it when I'm finally in Japan, shopping and eating to my heart's content. Course I have self control financially but there's a certain lavish indulgence when holidaying that feels wild and gives the illusion of no self-control. Which gives me enormous joy. Thanks for not gatekeeping Natasha-- you're doing your bit for the Japanese economy and for art in general. THANK YOU!! PS= Doesn't everybody love it when they return home and go through all the stuff they'd forgotten they bought when in Japan and then sits and edits all their travel photos whilst drinking a huge cup of coffee? Since forever I always go crazy about school supplies stores or stationary stores. When my kid’s started school it was heaven for me, but even when they went to college. Unfortunately they are grown and no longer in need of anything like that. BUT … Now I have a granddaughter 🥳🤗 and of course I’m at it again 😂. Happy shopping everyone 😊

I went to Japan in 2017 and if I knew about these art stores I would still be there now. I love Japanese stationary, they have everything imaginable and stuff that you never thought you needed.

Irresponsibly posting other people's images on the internet can bring about various dangers, such as putting someone who has successfully escaped a stalker or abusive partner back in danger. Would you be responsible if they were killed?
High Tide and Sekaido were my favorites for sure, not too big that you get overwhelmed but not too simple with quality goods. I would definitely go a little crazy with pens. Id look for one that has ink and stylus combined but like a good battery stylus and ink pen. Those arts books were really good, the hand book will be invaluable ❤
"How do I stop myself" you don't. We slowly just accept the fact cute things call to us and want us to buy them. I'm not even a craft person but the amount of things I want and would never use scares me lol.

Earlier this year I visited Japan for the first time exclusively to visit stationery shops and your video perfectly captures the experience! Although I managed to find a beautiful coloring book at Sekaido, I will make sure to spend more time by their books section next time I visit :)
I’m the same way with planners and journaling!! I love digital art, but I need a digital free place to think and declutter my mind. Funny you mentioned the copics, I actually got a few small sets to play with off Amazon last week. I’m starting a digital free art space for myself too so I have a place to unload and not worry about sharing things to social or making it perfect or whatever. I’ve also never really played with markers or copics before, so I’m excited for them to arrive. I didn’t get the crazy pack though just skin tones and nature colors. This was such a nice video!
