Took a quick car trip from Las Vegas up to Valley of Fire in the 1980's. Talk about contrast from glitz 'n glamour to breathtaking natural beauty. Glad to see not much has changed.
One of the best places I've ever been. I spent 8 hours in the park during my last visit to Vegas. I will absolutely go back the next time I'm in Nevada.
All through the 80s this was my playground late at night. Back then it was free to the locals and tourists. Just like Lake Mead. We would run through here from lake side usually in the triple digit range.
Our fave place to look for rocks & gems from Las Vegas.. Nice little Indian Casino on way in as well, Interstate 15 north, rock hunting always good right after rain, lots of neat stuff floated & got left in small washes in areas.. Thx Russ
On your way out , 2 RV camp grounds with dump station on your Right! Westbound! beautiful RVed out thier! If your driving east about 5 miles in from the pay gate on the left!
#58 Good morning, Fellow RV'er. I drove threw their this May. It was hot, 98 degrees. The Visitor Center was open. Video Show, Store for Gifts, etc. Nevada's first state park. Very beautiful!
I like how you do your video.. where you show where you're going, show the signs and the area. So if there ever is a day when I get out there I know what to actually look for .
Thank you for the great vid (as usual). This is where Adm. James T. Kirk (Ret.) met his untimely death in Star Trek: Generations. The entire fight sequence was filmed in this park.
Yes Michael Jacobs, very special place because of ST Generations, Kirk & Picard.. great movie!! :) Thx for reminder... Living in Las Vegas, many great areas to check out in few hours..
We went there once before and are looking forward to going again. It’s an awesome place. That road from the visitors center goes up a little ways and at the end the rock becomes white and the scenery is awesome there as well. On the way out towards the south end is a large rock with stairs which has petroglyphs. That gas station you passed has a store on the side with just fireworks and it’s huge inside. Well worth it to spend an entire day here.
Spectacular video! I'm not from the United States and currently I'm reading The Stand, by Stephen King. These beautiful landscapes are so helpful for my reading haha. Thank you! 😃
I was just there this year July 06 2020 what a great time Valley of fire then red rocks north east of Las Vegas and Area 51 alien cafe and cathouse Brothel just love it there. LOL Then crossed Death Valley on July 07 2020 118 degrees on the valley floor it was like walking around in a blast furnace but loved every minute of it with great scenery.
If you enter from I-15 by the Chevron station you can take a right on a dirt "road" about 1/2 mile past the Chevron and skip the actual entrance and drive 20 miles to Lake Mead. You can camp anywhere out there and it's just as pretty. You do need a vehicle with clearance. You can can also shoot on that road.
I just wanted to tell you I LOVE your channel, subbed and rang the bell. Love your drone shots what a great added attraction. Your narration is so pleasant as well. I may never get to see all these places but this is the next best thing. Thank you so much :o)
One of the weird timings in life. In one of my older Science News magazines, which I just ran into, has an article from Roadside Geography of Nevada giving all the data on Valley of Fire State Park. Details on all the rock formations. Lots of iron in the red rocks. And it's very prehistoric, time before dinosaurs old. It's a very pretty area. Yes, I need to buy California, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon. I drive through all 4. And one setting on my Garmin is altitude, so I know how high I am. High altitude can trigger my asthma. Luckily my Prius gets 300+ miles on an 11 gallon tank.
Calm down. When you work hard all of you life and can spend your retirement traveling, adding or deleting a word is the last thing on your mind. What IS important is that he will never forget those beautiful red rocks.
I actually just shot a whole music video there using 2 Iphones 11 and it looks awesome, really! Totally impressed with the scenery!! Check it out on my channel “The New Me” by Marina Mackenzie
Our favorite camping place!

Lucky find! Big Horn Sheep. Nice park.

I wish I can visit there someday. Savannah, Georgia is my home but wow this place is even much beautiful. Very deserted and I love the scenery.
Little critter at 1:17.

I was there in 2018, great souvenir, one of the best.
Great video Russ. You’re really showing us beautiful areas that are off the beaten path. I’ve learned a lot with your 2019 videos!
Thank you!!!
I drove through there going back to my Resort by lake Mead. That was a nice drive.
Enjoyed the driving adventure to Valley of Fire and can only assume it's because of the color of rock. Thank you so much and safe travels.
Want to see the fire in the valley? Be at the east end of the valley at sunrise looking west, the rocks are ablaze.
Cool wildlife😱
Another fun day on the road with Russ. I thought that Bighorn Sheep was a statue untill it moved.
Very informative video on this state park in Nevada. Thanks Russ for keeping us involved through your video's.
Havent been there in ages. I remember going to Mouse's tank
Beautiful . I am from Ct. I have always wanted to travel and see these beautiful mts !!
🙋Hello Russ! I enjoyed the ride through The Valley of Fire! Beautiful! The Bighorn Rams were as interested in us as we were of them. Neat!
We stayed at Poverty Flats, outside of Overton. Beautiful area, so much to see. The ride to Vegas was also pretty. Can’t wait to get back.
Nevada, my favorite state. I moved away and left my friends, fun and the friendliest people ever. Don't know what I was thinking. 😢
I love Reno and Vegas

Beautiful💕
When and what time of the day did you go?
You should have driven through the campgrounds. Very nice campgrounds with water and dump.
6:16 OMG these are real sheep...I reckon these are made out of rocks and carved by someone...but no these are real...so beautiful
Didn’t anyone else but me notice the big rat/desert creature scurrying across the road right when you were pulling up to the ranger station?
What camera are you using on the car dash? It works so well for scenery.
Looked like a Go Pro 7.
I half expected Fred Flintstone to drive past.
Nice
I am use to trees where I camp

I wonder if fire lake was the model they used for disneys cars.its a dead ringer for the movie
New shows!!!
beautiful without the crowd
Why do they not want you to fly a drone ?
I been there
Being a State Park, I am assuming it's "day use" only?? !

It’s NOT Valley of “The” Fire.
Can’t you read the sign that you stopped to look at early in the video?
It’s Valley of Fire....jeez !

Don’t go it’s a ripoff. The other road has better views for free.
It IS ugly.
