- This video shows the use of stirrups and ties in beam and column. Stirrups and ties are also called as transverse reinforcement. Stirrups are used in beams while ties are used in columns. They both have the following main functions.
1. They resist shear stresses mainly.
2. They give confinement to the main bars.
3. They give strength to the Rcc members.
4. The increase the seismic capacity of members.

Fantastic Explanation! Need more Like this!
Glad you liked it!
Very good, short and informative
Glad it was helpful!
Does they impart strength to column, beam?
yes
Very good and extra information sir g
Explanation is simple n easily understandable.. Keep the videos coming👍
Thank you, I will
That was easy thank you very much now i understand ❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Best information
Thanks
Or aggregates other material that can withstand as bent bars may deform more on pressure
Thank you, nice lecture..I think we can also provide timber rectangular blocks for stirrups
Thank you
You're welcome
What’s the difference between the square and rectangle stirrups ?
No difference
Hi sir, good video! But do you know the reason why stirrups are not equally distributed both in beam and column?
S
If you look at the transverse stresses diagram, the stress is the highest around supports. You need more closely spaced out stirrups where the stresses are the highest. Not as much where the transverse stresses are lower.
That way you can save money
thank you sr it s good informatin but what do you mean rcc !!!!
reinforced cement concrete

Stirrups are not links… they’re 2 different things.
Talk naturally, it will be good for you
