Thanks for touching base on your 3 year! You hit the nail on the head with your recommendations. You guys helped me get mine done about two weeks ago and it went together no problem whatsoever. Thanks Chad and Steven!
Chad is the man, and your tshirts are one of the more comfortable that ive worn but for some reason the midsection got tight lol. I have the 2"kit you guys sell and i dig it. Ive started doing more wheeling with my frontier since i got a commuter car for work and realistically a 4" kit would be perfect if you guys could come up with it. I dig the idea of the titan swap the big killer to me is the wheel track. Wide front narrow rear.
I've got a semi stock 2012 pro 4x and I love it offroad only issue I've had was the transmissions. I've had 3 in mine, warranty covered the 3rd one due to faulty install from mechanic on the 2nd, when they installed the 2nd tranny there was a pressure plate or something misaligned so when I put it into drive it took up to 10 seconds for the transmission to build enough pressure to actually engage drive which would lead to a huge spike in pressure like a cavitation on a boat causing the truck to almost do a wheelie from the force, needless to say the shop replaced the 2nd transmission and got another new transmission. 2 years later no problems at all this truck is one of my favorite vehicles I've owned its fast light and nimble on these AZ roads with tons of switchbacks and gravel roads, never been stuck once other than burning out the transmission that 1 time, but i was pulling my 19 foot trailer into an area id never been and shouldnt have taken a traiker too!! but since that incident I installed a trans cooler and haven't had a single problem. Brakes are something to upgrade because their brakes are terrible. Great trucks if you can get one that hasn't been beat up. Mines beat up but it's because I use it like it should be used, I won't sell it!!
I'd suggest extended rear brake lines because having a little slack in the line will allow a log to pass your line by rather than hit it and have no slack or movement to pivot/deform. Because I've done just that. Log popped my brake line right off.
So would you be kind enough to list what set-up you would recommend for a titan swap parts purchase, install and play list. Thanks for the info. Awesome vid.
We have a parts list made up on our website. Here's a link to our stage 2 kit - www.alldogsoffroad.com/alldogs-offroad-stage-2-tswap-kit-for-2nd-gen-nissan-frontier
Interesting to see... Out west we cut off the the coil buckets and weld on brackets so we can install any coil overs. Spring weights make a big difference and valving. Out here custom one are 150.00 for a set. We're either rock crawling or high speed pre runner builds out here. I build out the titans and starting to fabricate on the frontier and Xterra, nice to see the trails you have out there.
I am coming up on on being titan swapped for 6 months if had to do it again with the Bilstein 5100s I would skip the moog coil springs for the front and go with the Old Man Emu ones instead because the moog ones saged after only having them on for about 4 months with no extra weight on the Front end
I’ll be calling soon getting an xterra once I find one local and can’t wait to go trail riding not in a full size. Side not. Looking at the leaf packs are they spring over or under for the xterras?
Always wondered how titan swapped vehicles would hold up. Have had my frontier titan swapped for a year now and it still rides good. One problem I am running into now is that the front left coil is rubbing up against the spring. I probably bent the lower control arm(oem titan) offroading the Devils Stair Case in Sedona AZ last month. Other than that everything else is solid.
@@sc77 if your frontier is titan swapped then you will have no problem doing broken arrow. Still may be able to do it in a stock pro4x but you'll need to take the lines much slower. Only reason I believe I damaged the lower left control arm is because I was wheeling out there at night and hit a line the wrong way. Hope this helps you.
Thank you very much for the information. The information is invaluable. I do have a few questions I hope you'll be able to help me with. So i'm from Trinidad and Tobago and the Nissan Frontier is a common truck here. I myself have the 4x4 version. I've never heard about anyone here doing a Titan swap here. Is the swap recommended for someone who doesn't mainly off-road? What upgrades would you recommend that would improve on road for the vehicle as it's primary function but functional on the off road? The information you gave I extremely appreciate. Thanks
That titan swap is genius. Any six inch lift lowers the cross-members, so you lose center clearance and it's never going to articulate like that. If you're actually off-roading, I can't see how a 6 inch box lift kit could work better. Might be fine for a pavement princess but not for the trail.
Hmmm. I really enjoyed this overview. I’m about to start sourcing my own titan swap parts myself to get the ball rolling.i have a 2nd gen ‘11 Xterra and I know Frontier and X’s share almost the exact same chassis and the biggest difference between them is the leaf packs, but I was curious about your part in the rear extended brake lines. Since we have similar chassis, do you think I’d need extended rear brake lines when I want the lift to stay within 3”-3.5” of lift in the front or rear? My X is entirely road use right now as it’s my daily until I get me a lil 4 banger to daily but I just wanted to get your opinion on maybe leaving rear extended brake lines stock for an Xterra vs just getting 18’s or 20. Great video again man! Really love the companies connection and interaction in the community! Super helpful!
the truck still had the R180. i dont think he ever broke any axles or had axle issues. usually going to a larger tire than a 33 or running an incorrect t swap length coilover will cause issues.
Thanks for the great follow up! I know you mention the wider front offset but if you ran say a 2 inch wheels spacer in the rear would that not be close to the same as the titan arms?
Are there shops that can do this? Between work and home maintenance a mod like that would take me 2 weeks, and since its my DD I can't have it down for that long
Awesome video with lots of details. Thanks! Can you talk a bit about sway bar removal. I'm assuming that's both front and back. How does it affect daily driving and towing?
Glad you enjoyed the video! You can run a Titan Sway bar if you want, but since the purpose of a Titan Swap is wheel travel, most people leave it off for better articulation. You'll see more body roll but with proper coilovers it's not too bad
@@AlldogsOffroadCoop I hate to say it but I spent more time on the road than off =/. Would love a way a sway bar disconnect, even if it's not electronic like jeeps!

heres an interesting question... with just the titan swap, how much has your fuel economy decreased? im wondering if the potentially heavier components and somewhat change in aerodynamics (because of the lift), has the fuel economy decreased a ton.
it really depends on your tire choice. tires effect your mileage more than a lift will. Chad's 3rd gen only lost a couple MPG's with his titan swap, whereas Kyle's 2nd gen has lost 3-4 because of tire choice
