I worked on installing the cabling for this mirroring but found that I couldn't get stable video. I had the AUX port turned ON and set to AUTO on my Pioneer but I tried all the settings for NTSC and PAL with no success. I heard that the mini-AV plug (3.5mm) to the RCA females may be miswired so I tried experimenting with the cable connections for the RCA plugs and jacks but I couldn't get it to work. And I get a buzz and unstable video when connecting the video to 2 of the RCA connectors. I'm wondering if I need to get an interface cable for the HMDI to USB-C cable that is specifically designed for DEX since DEX shows up on my Samsung Galaxy S8 and the display says DEX cables work better. Any thoughts? At least my phone does charge with this setup. UPDATE: I just checked my cables from the phone thru the HDMI converter to the RCA *plugs* when I connected to a TV with RCA jacks. I used a multimeter to check the RCA jacks to the 3.5mm AV plug for continuity and that checked OK - nothing shorted either. I don't have any other devices that will accept the mini-AV (3.5mm) plug. The plug is the right type because it has 4 "locations" on the plug (video, right channel audio, left channel audio, and shield). I guess I need to contact Pioneer for tech support.
Troubleshooting checklist: 1) Parking brake grounded? 2) 3.5mm inputs have different pin configurations, make sure yours matches CTIA or OMPT pattern, do you have the right adapter? 3) Do not use the USB from the receiver to do anything, it always causes a problem 4) Do you have a power LED on the active Composite/HDMI converter? 5) iPhone will show a blue status bar on the top when the MD826Am is plugged in, do you see that? 6) Android will show HDMI connected with a proper cable, do you see that? 7) Some receivers have an Aux and AV in, are you selecting the proper input?

I have read that the Google Pixel 5 does not support HDMI out via the USB C connector. I have this phone and really want to get the screen mirroring working on my Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX. It's a damn shame that Google has all but completely nixed the screen mirroring capabilities without a chrome cast. Starting to remind me more and more of apple... Maybe you could do a video on how to get chromecast working in a situation like this? And even at that, I don't believe chrome cast has true screen mirroring capabilities? it just lets you cast certain apps like netflix, youtube, etc correct?

Hi, I have a dasaita 10.2 which came with an hdmi port, so I plugged an HDMI cable to it and attached an adapter to work with the iPhone but where do I go on the device settings on the stereo to mirror my iPhone ?
I just got one of these units myself. On my 15-17 Camry version, It is wired for L/R (red/white) RCA audio in, and three yellow RCA video inputs -- one for the rearview camera, one for an optional front DVR camera, and one for an aux video in. You'll need an adapter, because the manual for mine has a diagram on page 37 showing that the HDMI is an output for a ceiling or headrest mount display, not an input for the receiver.
I have the apline ilx f259 halo it has one camera input can i use it for the mirror link and still use my backup camera in the same input if not what do i need

What is audio quality going to be like? Right now I mostly use UA-cam Music for streaming and I have some downloaded that I use PowerAmp when I want the absolute best quality. Ideally , I'd like to be able to use PowerAmp and have the Visualizer show up on my screen, and be able to play UA-cam songs and have the video on screen. But NOT losing any sound quality
You'll have to flip your phone horizontal for wide screen viewing off apps like google maps, and in video apps just press the full screen button like you normally would

Did everything but I don’t get signal and just no signal screen I have the newer boss floating radio
Troubleshooting checklist:
1) Parking brake grounded?
2) 3.5mm inputs have different pin configurations, make sure yours matches CTIA or OMPT pattern, do you have the right adapter?
3) Do not use the USB from the receiver to do anything, it always causes a problem
4) Do you have a power LED on the active Composite/HDMI converter?
5) iPhone will show a blue status bar on the top when the MD826Am is plugged in, do you see that?
6) Android will show HDMI connected with a proper cable, do you see that?
7) Some receivers have an Aux and AV in, are you selecting the proper input?
Where does the second source of power hook up to?
USB power.
I got this for my Dual DM6S20N after connecting everything up the audio only comes out of my rear speakers yet if I use my phones Bluetooth all speakers work in my car. Can anyone help?
I have a note20 and kwnwood radio when I connect the image is backwards or upside-down
With Kenwood (dnx696s) you have to use the 3.5 aux but I'm finding I get interference while no phone is plugged it. It especially messes up my backup camera, is there a reason it's messing up the receiver with no phone plugged in?
I have read that the Google Pixel 5 does not support HDMI out via the USB C connector. I have this phone and really want to get the screen mirroring working on my Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX. It's a damn shame that Google has all but completely nixed the screen mirroring capabilities without a chrome cast. Starting to remind me more and more of apple... Maybe you could do a video on how to get chromecast working in a situation like this? And even at that, I don't believe chrome cast has true screen mirroring capabilities? it just lets you cast certain apps like netflix, youtube, etc correct?
That phone doesn't support mirroring via USBC.
I'm using an iphone 11 and a new Boss stereo. All I get is a black screen on the stereo monitor. Checked all my connections and all seem right. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you.
I’m having the same issue.
Hopefully someone has found a fix for it!
I have the apline ilx f259 halo it has one camera input can i use it for the mirror link and still use my backup camera in the same input if not what do i need
while i am attaching my MI note 7 miu-12 ,usb mirror link , with my car 7' dubbledin its working well but , after rotating my mobile screen , on dubbledin display screen is very small , its not showing full screen , and also not able to control phone from dubbledin display.
Can this method use in Toyota Camry 2018 factory Stereo/Screen and my phone is android system.
Thanks.
Is this method possible in Kenwood DDX417BT
Yes, you'll also need this: www.qualitymobilevideo.com/kenwood-ca-c3av-3-5mm-to-rca-audio-video-input-cable-for-select-multimedia-radios.html
For anyone reading this I found a Kenwood app called mirroring OB if you have a usb that your phone can plug into just download the app and plug in your phone and you can mirror anything that's on your phone to your touch screen and no your phone doesn't have to have mirror screen for this app to work stay up everyone this video had me goin fml till I found the Kenwood app and I assume it's for Kenwood only
DAM IM TIRED BOSS!!!
Will all apps play as full screen on the unit? Or will they only fit the Mirrored size screen?
You'll have to flip your phone horizontal for wide screen viewing off apps like google maps, and in video apps just press the full screen button like you normally would
Let me know what I need to buy for my Sony 7000 radio so I can mirror my Samsung 10.
Luis Ramos I’m doing same unit too. I was thinking same set up here but use a chromcast ,fire tv, etc. @ the hdmi connection instead and give it power. Will this cast ? Will it cast with audio? Thoughts anyone?
