The 2nd Battle for Fallujah was far worse than the 1st. They were ready for us the 2nd time and dug in like ticks behind fortified positions, many of them with good overhead views of the main advance routes. In house to house clearing operations against such a well entrenched enemy it became quite common for the lead man making door breaches to take immediate fire and be either wounded or killed outright. Platoons flipped coins for who would run point just so that no man could feel self-guilt for being the one to personally appoint them, fate decided that which gave some feeling of absolvement.
Naw a lot wrong, they weren't dug in waiting behind fortefied positions, most of them ran around from weapon cache to the next weapons cache...more like cocka roaches. They didn't flip coins trying to decide fate, the first & scond lieutenants were leading all the soilders from door to door close quarters combat...a couple times the enemy tried barracading themselves inside a house during firefights, but the tanks following would blow the house to ruble, at one point during this battle a lieutenant leading put up sorta like a checkpoint of soilders all together just eliminating any terrorists they seen and would interchange soilders that were shooting so they could rest an reload, this was pretty much the only time they weren't constantly moving around during the battle of fellujah...this was the last true combat of search an destroy before the entire army occupied the area for 20 years like security guards
Interesting to see the equipment back then and how this type of combat created the need for so many changes that led to what the military operates today

@@frantisekbabic9683 M16A4 is relegated to Boot Camps for Marines as it got replaced by the M27. M4 phased out for the M4A1 which is being phased out by the marines for the M27. The M27 is going to be the one size fits all weapon with it being a LMG, DMR, and rifle.

Didn't serve but grew up during this war and it hits different. I remember it on the news everyday and it still sticks with me even as a civilian, obviously not like it does with the vets who I respect the F out of. Thanks for the upload.

My sisters husband was a marine sniper in Fallujah and my dad thought it might be him so he orderd his platoon to load up in the Bradleys and they went in and saved them
I have a buddy that was in security forces in the Air Force an he went 5 tours in Iraq an Afghanstan within 10 years. The last time he went there his unit took over the dutys of blackwater an had to patrol the streets.

Looks like a Mark 153 SMAW. The rounds fired beforehand is for spotting purposes. I think they are close to 7.62 caliber bullets but im not sure.
