Absolutely stunning piece
A very beautiful blade, the width of the blade and the O-kisaki really give it a lot of vibrancy and an aggressive look
I am sure in person it has a lot of other virtues. Aoi art is a class act dealer
Wow thanks for all the info! Beautiful shirasaya!
Very beautiful ! Some day I hope to have something so beautiful as that. Thank you for sharing.
A very beautiful piece of art. Sword makers are artists making me swords they put their soul and heart into it. You can almost feel its heartbeat from its maker.
Lovely blade. The sayagaki looks great
Wow, It was made around 150 years ago.
Imaging the history behind this sword, fall of samurai, rise of westernized Meiji period, a time of extraordinary change.
It would be a fabulous
family heirloom.
Thanks a lot for the appreciation. These sword are verry artistic pieces of history and deserve to be well preserved.
If you are interested in swords, you may want to watch my other video featuring a wakizashi made 550 years ago. The time when samurai started to become footsoliders and started to wear the blade edge up.
Sincerely
Ludwig
Very nice presentation beautiful sword
Amazing , i have a lot of respect for traditional sowrds. And for those who collect them. There is a spiritual connection that only those who value such priceless peaces of history know about.
Thank you for your appreciation. Owning a nihonto is so much more than owning just a sword.

I agree with you 100%
Beautiful sword I bought two from their shop in Tokyo when I was stationed there
Wow! Beautiful sword.
Beautiful work of art , also a very pure instrument of death.
That is an interesting Hamon, never seen one that straight before. Grats on your purchase!
thats Actually the most common hamon line
Beautiful, bella
Nice.. beautiful
Well the Blade is Very Very Nice!
Ludwigs Nihonto i was very impressed with your unboxing of this beautifully crafted historic sword. The soothing music added a great calm to the impending sight of the sword, congrats. I unfortunately only have a cheap copy of the sword that was used by Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai. However it is a live blade and as such it is treated with the respect of any bladed weapon should be and cared for. I even make smaller length blades as a hobby and it is amazing to create something and take pride in it. I too would love to own such a timeless beauty . With Respects from me here in Australia :-)
So beautiful
Very nice!
What a beautiful Japanese samurai sword
music goes well whit that katana, suguha is 2nd best hamon

Hey jade I've also purchased mine and waiting for export papers 3 weeks. When did you order yours? Was it at the height of the pandemic
@@prabshiro hi there I was wondering if you recieved your katana from aoi
@@dereklinton5570 yep did . Took over a month
Nice sword...i realy like shirasaya..xD
Thanks a lot, I really like it too.
Like mist on the surface of a lake,we all drown in beauty...
Thanks for your appreciation :)
what did it feel like when you got your first sword?
Subarashi!!
Nice song. That song is beautiful. What is the name of it?
genamusic S a d s a m u r a i is what I think that song is
I want to buy a katana samurai sword, but how do I know that it is a real sword of quality and content
I use to own a sword by Tsunatoshi''s teacher that had a long kissaki, it was part of a Dai-sho which l no longer own.
beautiful sword...can I ask how long it took to deliver to you from japan?...and also how long?
Well don't know if you'll see this but this blade reminds me of Hiko Seijuro the XIII....please reply even you don't understand what I mean
How we can find the beauty in something so destructive!! 👍🏾👍🏾
The Katana is just an unanimated, lifeless object.
What is destructive is the man who wields it ;) and human kind has been the most destructive species of them all.
Word.
The last blade I purchased was from AoiArt, a Tokubetsu Hozen Tanto from 1871. Excellent seller and would highly recommend them.
Hey Daniel how long did export permit take aoi when you purchased thanks
@@prabshiro a little over a month if I recall correctly, then the shipping took almost another month because of customs.

Cool video and thanks for posting.
Pretty cool scroll you got with it .
Was that sword the only one with the scroll like that or does the company you bought it from make the scroll and send it with the sword ?
AoiArt has experts who make these for you. Best regards
@@ludwigsnihonto8757 Oh cool , thanks for letting me know.
It looks great.
Beautiful sword too.
Cheers
Many people are taken by the commercial swords with out really learning about Nihonto. Never knowing of the NBTHK. And that relatively affordable investments are available. I put your two videos in my Nihonto Playlist for those that want to see real unboxings hope you don't mind.
No, I don't mind!
Spread the love for the nihonto around the world!
U know what..the katana was nice..but the music is better
What a beautiful piece of Japanese living history/art you lucky lucky person. I must ask total cost?
Well done
Its $3100
@@firdauskaswady2217 I seriously doubt that, an Edo era known famous blade could be worth upto $50,000!, they are heirlooms, investments and serious collection pieces!
$3100 was probably import tax and shipping.
@@tonyashton780 if you scroll down to another price question.. He said it himself.. I do know a katana this beautiful would cost a fortune.. I think this might be a replica or some sort
@@firdauskaswady2217 it would have to be at that price. I know a Japanese bladesmith Gassan Sadatoshi charges around $40,000 for a modern blade and that's just to make it then its either a trip to Japan or employ a local buyer or swordsmith exporter plus shipping plus import taxes very little change out of $50,000 for the genuine article.
@@tonyashton780 i don't know man..I'm just saying what the dude told the other dude.. And i don't know anything about pricing a japanese sword.. But now at least i know.. Soo thanks i guess?
how to order brother ?
How much did u pay for this
what keeps that peg from falling out?
chevy vega friction
Where do buy these beautiful swords
Hello, thank you for the nice komment :)
I buy them from the site aoi art. It's verry trustworthy and offer only high quality products in every aspect.
I hope you can find your perfect sword as well.
Ludwig
Beautiful sword. Do you know what material the sword is made of? Im sure for $3000 you won't get one made of Tamahagane is that right?
Of course it's made of tamahagane. I don't know if you noticed, but this sword is almost 200 years old. It's made in edo in Japan
@@ludwigsnihonto8757 forgive me for not reading the descriptions. haha. I thought it was a modern sword or something.
@@Alkhoholic even modern made japanese swords made in japan are made with tomahange what else would they use lol
what's the price of this katana
Hey :)
It's about 3100$
@@ludwigsnihonto8757hell that's expensive
@@farisarrazi1200 not for such craftsmanship
Well I won it at an auction and the price was way lower than what you normally pay for a sword of this quality, so I got it rather cheap. :)
@@farisarrazi1200 That is extraordinarily cheap.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
Have you purchased any more swords since these?
No sorry, it’s a expensive hobby …
Price?
Where to buy ...
Carbon Steel?
Kind
3100$ aoi art tamahagane steel
Is shipping authentic swords outside japan legal?
yes lol why would it not you just have to have papers to ship it out of the country
@@micahcampa I bought a prop katana in Japan and they had to inspect it in the airport to check if it's authentic. I also tried to ship a knife in the US but courrier said they can't cause it's classified as a weapon.
@@studentdeljuego You have to have papers for a katana to leave japan for a real one i have bought 2 swords from there i have the papers for it to be shiped out of its borders
@@studentdeljuego it because you need certin papers for a real swords most swords sold already have their papers to leave japan
