As the creator of the last map I can say you played it exactly as intended.
Nice map.
Love the "nuke" spore launcher. It lights up brighter than the Sun!
Great map. I found the nuke super late on it.
Your spore nuke is awesome, I love how ridiculous it is
See, exactly
So, starting at the volcano ISN'T how you're supposed to play the map? I'd wager that was where you're supposed to begin plus starting there puts you in a pretty good position to assault where the resources are in fact once I took those out everything folded.
Tom's played enough City builders to know just how to attack one
Never thought I'd see the day Tom would say a ballista wouldn't work
I mean it isnt a TABS ballista. Those are god slayers
*You promised Dr. Stern that you wouldn't break out from your captivity*
Really wish your "eggs" value on these PAC maps were in some way based on how many eggs the spore launched squirt out, or at the very least have a "pop all eggs" button that is in a very obvious place.
What a coincidence. Today I finally beat the last level of the campaign and started looking at custom maps, and this was the first one I played. Thanks for introducing me to this game, it's everything I never knew I needed in a tower defense game.
Tower defense? I believe you meant 'Tower Attack with a Tower Defense dlc' ?
Unfortunately there are no CSM type maps on 4, those didn't really make the jump from 3 (yet, I hope). They are awesome little puzzle-like maps that I've probably spent nearly 100 hours in CW3 playing. They do kind of look like chaotic spaghetti, though.
zoomout of the campaign mission select screen there is another mission
Thanks for playing my map!
Some notes for those interested:
In my testing the defender AI always fought a little harder so I'm not really sure why it's a lot more easy for some, the completion times vary wildly, and I _definitely_ over-tuned the creeper power. I really didn't want the map to take too long, mainly because it essentially turns into a flat plane once all the city is melted which I felt was kinda boring. I went a bit too far in the other direction, however.
The melting terrain gives the creep a pretty large advantage because it means the creep only has to touch a structure for a few seconds to kill it, and I also totally forgot to put in the lasers and Thors until I'd already called it 'done' and published it, which reduced the difficulty a lot. Oops!
There were also a few things present in the editor that, for some reason or another, didn't make it into the published version and I don't really know why. EG: there was supposed to be a large store of AC near the redon boxes that deployed after a short delay to counter the initial creeper wave and started the flip breeder in the downtown area, something that worked fine in my version until I downloaded the published version of the map and noticed it wasn't there. Other stuff like pipes in the canals, and several bertha's near the rift lab also vanished, frustratingly.
If I revisit the map I'll change or fix that stuff, but honestly my current terrible PC makes it very difficult to test the map, so I couldn't and still can't muster the energy to change it now. (it took almost two hours for me to beat it, the FPS was that low.)
I'm happy so long as more people start using melting terrain in interesting ways after seeing ideas like mine, as I feel it's greatly underused. If you're reading this right now thinking "I could have made that better" then please do! I'll be one of the first people upvoting your map!
Thanks again for playing, and maybe I'll make a sequel that's a little less tooth-less sometime soon.
there's an option to "disable shake" on the tab on the right. I found it helps with trying to place eggs/rocks in a particular spot.
Why did Tom say the Romans wouldn't stand a chance against the Creep? They'd just need to support their ballistae with cheerleaders and banner-bearers, and they'd be set!
TABS reference?
I must say I absolutely love these videos where you play a bunch of shorter/quicker maps! it’s soooo enjoyable to watch and its easier to keep track of with my 5min attention span.
Thank you very much for the upload Tom. It really makes my day to come home to a bit of simple, fun escapism to watch from you. I appreciate it.
So, there's another ERN Rush map on the community tab Tom, this one seems to be even harder than the previous two as there's an issue of AC coming from the main base while outposts for AC can end up generating more, but there's a dark tower in the top left corner of the map, which seems to be how the creator intended for how you win the map because I was able to beat the map by literally ENGULFING it with darkness, DON'T upgrade the spores, skimmers or air sacs once your starter emitter is at a level where it can handle the AC you can dump the remaining boosts into the dark tower.
I just played this yesterday!
Glad you had fun Tom
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1026
Oh yey, a multimap episode :D love them, and some good maps
Goodness, that was fast ha ha, I do wonder how 30 secs what achieved, but Tom is very close so I suspect not far off, just need that specific amount
WOW, that Spore Launcher, mad XD
Yep, perfect play, just as the map founder intended XD
Wow man if this is a true streak I don't know how yogs hasn't called you yet
Weird! Just downloaded Creeper World 4 as I love your videos and this was the first map I played! Great to see a different playstyle to mine
The nuke looks like the spirit bomb
Through a creative use of game mechanics I managed a 53.2 second run of the first map😂
*_It's time to get Angory!_*
This was a great Creeper World video Tom
how to do that in 30 seconds?
... cheat~
I think it's possible if you don't build the nullifier instantly and instead let the towers build first
@@SummonessNikki yeah the base has enough energy to build 2 towers instantly. So put down one on each side of the base then once they build, plop down a nullifier.
@@magicstew45 Yeah, this is, like, "Creeper World 101" to manage your energy resources, in those maps where you've got to rush to a certain point before the creep or you'll lose.
The base starts with a small amount of energy in storage that are deployed almost instantly. So you use that energy to rapidly build some towers to gather up more energy. You can use that "initial boost" from the base's internal storage - it's not that much, but it's enough to get your first towers up fast, and then you work from there.
But - Yogscast guarantee - despite how many videos and maps Tom has done now, he still doesn't fully appreciate all the nuances of energy management.
Mainly because Tom's basic strat is "build all of the things at the same time", in a "Hulk smash" kind of way. Although, I do appreciate that, actually, it does work, as he is beating these maps consistently (though he won't get those 30 second records in the leaderboard that way).
I saw 2 guys in the 30 seconds division. The units built is... 1. So they are only building the nullifier. You can setup the rift next to the solar, get a quick charge and fly over, but that takes 30 second flight. Or just build, but that isn't fast enough either. It's some sort of energy hack. 30 seconds is about how long it takes to build and charge up.
Yeah, pretty sure that's hacked. The best I've done is 51.7 seconds, with three towers and one Nullifier.
Not to say it couldn't be done faster, since I'll fully admit I'm not the best in terms of placement and efficiency. But I haven't seen anything faster besides that 30 second one.
Prisons are made to be broken!
That bubble wall fell super fast
I'd love to see you return to Boneraiser Minions, by the way, Tom ^-^ That was a blast, and I really enjoy the meta progression it has now
These maps were interresting... 😄
Rome vs Creep = Codex Alera (book series by Jim Butcher)
Ain't it great when the maps play themselves?
Tom is basically the PAC man.
BIG FAN OF CREEPER WORLD WOOO
I played this map. not that bad.
oh i played this one the other day. kinda just AFK'd and it worked itself out to a win. neat story idea but kinda boring.
edit: can confirm. 17:57 AFK win.
Omg agent stone clip
Bam!
*F i r e . T h e . S p o r e s .*
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I wait for normal maps (not pac).
16:47 Why not pop their M-rift with a rock already?
they are surrounded & can't make any more connections, that is the ONLY thing that sustains that area.
16:55 COME ON!!! YOU'RE LOOKING RIGHT AT IT!!!... :/
17:10 FINALLY! At least *something* know how to play this game!
Stixx cheats thats hiw
