    And this is why US has air dominance when on spot... Thank you for this video. Starting on BMS but this is always updated.. 101 is good

    Got it all and thanks for the tutorial. I'm familiar with sending soft-locked (bugged) A-A RADAR contatcs with intraflight to own the fligth and other flights, but I wonder how you can send A-G locked targets with the IDM (locked them with the TGP, or the HMCS, or the FCR). Any idea? Thanks 🙂

      The manual says IFF IN data links the AG radar position... haven't tried it yet though...

    In which situations do we need to care about VHF vs UHF in IDM?

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому +2

      Great question so when it comes to using A/A IDM on VHF rather than the default UHF. This would come in handy if there are multiple flights in a package in MP and using continuous (CONT) would create too much confusion because if everyone on the UHF freq does not have the same flight inputs in IDM then some flight members will be blocked. This is why while using UHF it is better to use DMD or ASGN and request cycles.
      If a flight uses VHF for A/A IDM then CONT can be used without interfering with the other flights because only one flight is on VHF. But you will not be able to see the other flights because they are not on your VHF.
      I hope that makes sense.

    • @avshishkin
      @avshishkin 3 роки тому

      @@AviationPlus Yes I feel like that makes sense. Thank you for your answer. Another question.... An IDM in A-A and A-G can be different, right? For example, if I get IDM 91 for A-A and set it in UHF mode, then I don't have to change my IDM in A-G? My flight stays at IDM 10 and A-G mode would work as expected or not?

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому +1

      @@avshishkin It could stay 10 as long as everyone else in your flight stays 10. A/G would still work.

    Hi, I have questions on the use of Datalink in Single Player:
    1. I know IFF OUT and the radio command "Datalink Ground Target" can work (usable) with AI Flight members. But if I am Flight Lead and do an IFF IN or XMT, it is of no use to AI Flight members, am I right?
    2. Can an AI Lead actually send me a "Datalink Ground Target" request, or an IFF IN on a waypoint (HSD) or target (FCR), or an A2A target via XMT? I doubt so as that would be uncanny for the AI.
    Appreciate it if you can answer these questions as I can't find tutorials, manuals or answers that address AI wingmen using Datalink in BMS. Thanks!

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому

      1. Data linking air or ground targets does not matter with AI wingman. You use you comm ladder to give them attack commands. That will give the the "location".
      2. That's correct AI do no send data via IDM.
      In your BMS docs folder there are manuals talking about everything BMS and jet related. Thanks for watching.

    Hey great video! Helped me a lot. Could you tell me how to have this kneepad? Mine only has the checklists on the left knee and general comms on the right, but i cant find the one youre using with the flight coms, also i cant find it on the briefing or ato or anywhere else. Any help would be much apreciated, ty again!

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому +1

      You must use Weapons Delivery Planner for the kneepad. It has everything that you would need to utilize it in 3D. Thanks for watching here is a great video going over WDP. ua-cam.com/video/NMsOjfshtM8/v-deo.html

    Nice tutorial.
    Also when you are in a strike package like you were in the tutorial. How do you check in with the target package and coordinate for your strike to objective?

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому +2

      I am not sure what you are exactly asking but there are different flights within the package and one of those will be your strike flight. To coordinate the lead would have to call them and communicate with them over UHF channel 6 or another pre briefed frequency. Thanks for watching!

      @ThunderingVipers 3 роки тому +1

      @@AviationPlus well I am quite a noob in bms so trying hard to learn. I never setup DL 😂 but now I will.
      My issue that happens is like if I part of the strike package (escorting or sead) I do my mission objectives (arriving on time, checking in with awacs).. but I never know if the rest of the flights arrived or not

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  3 роки тому +2

      @@ThunderingVipers If you are playing in single player you might be able to enter the IDM block of your other flights. This way you can see the flight lead at least. When it comes to playing in multiplayer you can just communicate with the other flights. Welcome to the sim there is a lot to learn. Be patient and keep at it.

    how to get the distance from my aircraft to another in TCN A/A ? for example: 11,12,13 ,14 lets suppose my is 11 and I want to measure to 4th member (14)

    • @AviationPlus
      @AviationPlus  Рік тому +1

      Only two aircraft can be tied with AA TACAN and those numbers are 63 apart.
      If your TACAN is 15Y #2 would be 78Y but this is with humans.
      AI default is as follows
      Flight 1 11-12Y 12-22Y 13-75Y 14-85Y
      Flight 2 Add one to all
      If you want to tie to a wingman you need to add or subtract 63.
