I was just replying to someone about this. I plan on doing one. People are so confused on how to start up because they don't know what they NEED to do to not get in trouble.
Super useful! Thank you :) Followed all the steps with the link 16 but i don't know why with the HMCS if i look at my wingman, I can't see the circle with the "2". But i can actually see circles with the HMCS when i look to other flights. Could this be something related to the Link 16 settings BEFORE we enter the cockpit?
BMS models a couple of different avionics versions (called tapes). Some variants do not show any HMS symbology for L16, only on HSD and b-scope. Check the manual for a very large table with different versions.
Very helpful! Ran into some issues. I can't request taxi from tower - it's grayed out in the menu - why might that be? I can't click 0 to start the HMD alignment, it doesn't register my mouse - why might that be? Thanks!
I was thinking about starting to play BMS. But if you really have to do all this to go flying, I think not. Is there an option where you don't have to do all this?
Hi I wanted to start bms I just have a problem. I can't use a hotas because I have to move a lot during this year and can't carry them with myself Is bms playable with Xbox controller like dcs?
Hi! I don't know, but I don't see why not. However, I do not really see how you would really have a real pleasure in BMS with an Xbox controller (?) Kind regards.
Thank you for answering I know that I can't get the full experience but it's better than nothing, isn't it? I just saw people complaining saying that it's not playable with new update, that's why i'm asking this.
@@AviationPlus Thanks, because I see in the video, as long as you turn the INS to NAV, the route appears on the MFD, although the DTC isn't loaded yet. 🤔
Usually in a normal start up I load the DTC before I go to NAV on the INS. Never noticed it doing this until you pointed it out, but yes I would assume it would not load until you load the DTC.
Doesn't have consequences. People are confused on what they need to do to not get in trouble, but yes those can be performed. I might make one by the book and mention the consequences if any.
@@AviationPluswell the problem is that if they fail , there would be no other option than to abort the mission. I fcould however make sure that if you don’t perform the check , then the fault can happen in game ;)
IIRC , risks of in-flight issues are extremely low in case of skipping FLCS BIT test. So it is not really a showstopper. However, if you like to have a maximum chance of having no issues, performing all the BIT is recommended. ;-) Enjoy!
Wow I was looking for a realistic old school flight sim and I came across this and F16's were always my favorite fighter. Jackpot!
this is exactly what I needed! thanks!
I had one time the Mal/IND test alerted me to a real world problem. The center channel of my surround sound system had come unplugged. YMMV.
Nice vid as always. I didn't know about the 10 seconds for MIDS, just winging it and hoping L16 loads correctly from DTC.
Would be cool to have a by the book startup, doing the sec and epu checks among others. Thanks nonetheless, great vid

where is the gps button on the avionics power panel? I checked the other blocks and they are all same. Any answer ?
The GPS switch is not there seems like the F-16 is based before the mod that retrofitted them with a new panel with the GPS switch.
@@AviationPlus I saw the switch in your old videos . I think BMS changed it with the updates right ?

You request taxi from ground not tower. Does you mouse work with other switches in the cockpit?

Is it correctly implemented that the flight route is displayed before the DTC is loaded?
Not sure doesn't seem like it but while the INS is aligning that would be when you load the DTC.
@@AviationPlus Thanks, because I see in the video, as long as you turn the INS to NAV, the route appears on the MFD, although the DTC isn't loaded yet. 🤔
Why did you have your flight plan before loading the DTE? Isn't the flight plan saved on the tape as well?

radar does not work on the ground inorder not to harm ground crew when the aircraft senses itself on the ground with weight on wheel sensors.
4:14 - Learn something new every day! I thought DTC needed to be loaded before using presets?
Well the AUX is not loaded by the DTC. Usually we talk on AUX just on battery so there it must load it on mission load.
