Hey Max, Very nice vid. One pretty important area you actually don't talk about. Save Datacard!!!
As almost everybody has something like a iPad or smartphone, this one is crucial to know about.
When you are done planning your mission and saved your DTC, using this button will save all the datacards as pictures and a backup of the datacard. Now you can pass it along to your fellow pilots. The person who prepares the mission can create all the datacards for all human flights. This will reduce the time briefing a lot as you just brief... Data and freqs are all on your datacard ;)
Click on the Datacard Directory button and it will open the location.
With an iPad you can now access all datacards via a network and have all of it at your fingertips.

Thanks for pointing this out. I just wanted to add the following for folks flying in VR: Saving the datacard is incredibly useful when combined with OpenKneeboard, as you can simply add a folder tab in OpenKneeboard pointing to the folder where the datacard is saved. That way you can get all the WDP info into OpenKneeboard with almost no hassle.
One Thing I forgot to mention:
Don't forget to Load your DTE before you commit to your flight in Falcon BMS
Watching today. Cheers.
Thanks!
Great video.
Really great vid ! Discovered some details I didn't knew even if I used it for years.
19:15 : The map you have on the Datacard page is what you see in the MAP tab. So if you zoom in the MAP tab, you will have it zoomed in the Datacard too. Usefull if you want to focus the MAP on some areas
Yes true, I missed maybe a couple details (always hard when you have a limited time to record) :(
I learned about the reset side. I never knew about that. Thanks for sharing. A good pilot is always learning
Hey MaxWaldorf, thanks so much for putting that video together. The amount of detail in WDP is impressive.
It is a very handy tool for sure!
the window is a bit small even from a 24" monitor. It would have been better if you selected a higher resolution from the options menu, so that the grid filled the entire screen, or if you zoomed in post production.
Nice tutorial 🙂. I use WDP for many years and as much as possible. One thing I still don't understand. What if a host upload a CAMPAIGN .ini (I know how it works with an uploaded TE .ini and it works perfecr) and attending pilots download and save this Campaign .ini file to BMS. Is data ss all the PPT's and Tanker track also saved to the DTC (with WDP) for the attending pilots?
Good video, informative.
I haven't been able to update the kneeboard in 3d, WDP saves the data card as .dds texture, but the actual kneeboard on the pit remains the same.
What theater are you using?
@@MaxWaldorf nevermind, I got it to work. Turns out I didn't specify the correct call sign in WDP. I appreciate the help though. And great videos.
how do I download it? It was in a 7z file and I have no idea where to put it
Nowhere can I find how to install it? Not in the manual nor in this video.. 'First things first' means zero without proper installation init? ))
