Only suggestion i have for your next trucks is to do a recessed winch track this way you can if needed have the winch cable run to rear of truck with cable hold points for emergency recoveries or cars that are broken that need to be loaded on trailer. Gas truck engines may wear faster due to the weight but given you dont run these trucks very long or very hard should be fine.
Liking the new truck. Congrats! 7mpg on my f450 v10. Didn’t go with the 10k+ diesel engine as it’s not driven daily. I will say….keep an eye on the side box. Mine was also rhino lined and it rusted out underneath and I almost lost my hitch thru the bottom. Best of luck with the truck.

Rob, good choice on going gas. I think you’ll be fine with a gasser. Lower operating cost. And one of the things about diesel is the dpf. You delivering in NY and lots of stop and go would be very hard on a DPF trying to regen. Good choice bro.
Hell... For the last few months in Phoenix, unleaded 87 was $.70 to $.80 MORE per gallon than diesel fuel. It is just starting to come back down to equitable pricing.
When your looking at the price per gallon of gas vs diesel do you also look at the horrible mileage while towing with gas vs diesel 10mpg vs 16 unloaded I believe. That 50% increase in mileage has to off set the diesel being slightly more expensive
Its wear and tear on the engine and transmission when it comes to desil vs gasoline. You'll see if you really use them hard. Desil also idles better long term for recovery situations.

They're mostly unreliable crap nowadays. As are all modern vehicles. But you're right, getting a new consumer level diesel to 100k miles is extremely expensive now. Its just not worth it unless all 100k miles are with 5 cars behind you. Which almost nobody does.
Probably not much, I got a friend that builds rollbacks and I believe a complete job can cost around 20-24 grand. But there's far more maintenance in the rollback
Another thing to note with diesel vehicles are that you have to deal with a lot of government crap added on the car, making it complicated to fix things.

As a business owner that owns a fleet of HD trucks I can tell you that without question gas trucks are better than diesel unless you have to regularly tow heavy trailers. Modern gas trucks are significantly less problematic and there’s significantly less anxiety about them being operated by staff.
They look weird, especially to a European. Chequer-plate is slippy especially when painted and wet. Going to all that expense you could just buy a enclosed transporter or a standard drop bed with actual load / restraint floor, can even get them similar to that but with a frame and a draw back curtain to fully enclose sensitive cars. Do you not have anything in the 3.5-7.5 t sector for transporters over there
Ohio uses paper titles. I had the same issue when I bought my Mustang in Cleveland. Took a month and a half to get the ohio title so I could transfer to PA.
usually they just hand you the title same day with your name on it when you go to the dmv and show the paperwork that you just bought it but i dont know how it works for out of state buyers

For two weeks I couldn’t drive my car as the temp tag expired. My suggestion would be to always research how titles are handled before making a purchase out of state.

You definitely do not need a diesel to pull one car. I think you made a good decision. You’ll use more fuel but you saved thousands buying the gas truck and like you said diesel is always higher price

Would a supercharger on the truck help with the pulling performance? And I think some trans work could really help uphill pulling
then it will only make it 80k miles before blowing up instead of 150k. A cummins would go 300k+ with twice the power and better fuel mileage.

Diesel sucks. It costs more to fix, makes more noise. The Hemi 6.4 has plenty of punch to do what you need. All of mine are gas fueled.
