Something that has always helped me is a little thing called self amusement. If you’re having fun, chances are that the other person is having fun too. Obviously it goes without saying that it should be wholesome fun, & not laughing at someone else’s expense. Also, authenticity goes a long way.

The idea is to have fun & banter with other person. You can joke & have fun, just don’t be corny & predictable. The more you interact with people, the more social acuity you gain. It’s like anything else, the more you practice, the better you get.

For me, after i graduated highschool i got alot more confidence in myself. Im not a great looking guy, but i do consider myself a flirt. I have a lady so nothing more would happen. Something ive noticed, is: if you want to flirt or to get a lady, be confident in yourself and how you "carry" yourself. Dudes out there Please listen, POSTURE can really help. Ive always walked shoulders back chest forward, it didn't do nothing when i was an overwieght child. When i got older, still had same posture, grew up and slimmed down/ bulked up, we got results. Dont give up, both men and women, yall can get someone

@@1cheatkode IDK if youre serious or not, but, if serious. Guess the best way to gain confidence is yourself first, and also learn how to talk whithout being fake. To talk with confidence, you dont have to be pushy, talk down to others, or belittle people. That also comes with time to learn. For a slight example: what i started doing at work when i was younger which i still do today, is joke with the public, and be able to read people if they are able to accept one or not. A joke ill usually do is: "hello howre yall doing today?" "Im ok, you?" STILL ALIVE!" but have a happy way i say it to the customer and dont linger on the joke. Immediately after i say still alive, most everybody will smile and make another quip back, then you play off that. If you can learn to do that kind of thing, itll help you be confident in speaking with random people.

I think this is all pretty true. I'm a conversationalist weirdo who just loves talking to people and actually listening to what they have to say, and I'll have women and sometimes men ask me out all the time without that being my intention.
I can also confirm its certainly not because of my stunning good looks. Last time I looked in the mirror it broke itself.

Flirting is the war of a glance ❤
In an instant, we see ourselves fixing our eyes on each other’s eyes.
    Your beauty has spoiled you.
Few resist the third second without looking away, without blushing.
    One second, two seconds.
    And I keep my posture.
I know what I came for.
The paused breathing thaws and leaves the mouth slightly open, releasing a sigh.
    The heart rises.
    I stand.
    Three seconds.
I feel cold in my arms and heat in my face.
    All sound stopped.
Four seconds that have already dilated into many.
If you lose, we both lose.
    But neither of us surrenders.
A sketch of a smile begins to form.
The eyes tighten and a different glow alerts us.
    The smiles open.
    The last second is complete.
Two victors emerge from the war 🎉

I’ve never used a pickup line that resulted in a real relationship, but sometimes, if you do it right, it’s a fun way to indicate you’re not looking for anything but company, there’s no pressure, and you’re interested in the person, but won’t freak out if they reject you.
The secret is to get the line wrong. “If I could rearrange the alphabet, I’d put U and me together!” kind of thing.
P.S. at all costs avoid lines like “You smell like my mother.” as they seem to send entirely the wrong message.
P.P.S. This is mostly an outsider’s opinion, I’m not good at “peopling”, but some women find me tolerable/interesting/pitiable and allow me to think I get it right every once in awhile.

Whenever I see my crush is being a little too bombarded by people, girls especially😕🙄😤 (he is a very social person, extrovert kind a guy), after he done having conversation I try to go and start talking to him and he flirts a lot with me. Some of my classmates actually think we are dating and keep their distance but still giggle and watch us🥰😚🤭. Though I have a very toxic ex best friend🤬 who I think tries to take him from me so kinda complicated life really.

Thank you for this video Psych2go! Can you make a video on inappropriate types of flirting? I'd also love for you to create a story for psi on this topic! This really hits hard home because I was raised in a strict eastern household where crushes and wanting to have teen relationships or even express yourself was considered disrespect. My relatives thought the freedom children should have should only be the freedom to help with household tasks- not to go out freely. My helicopter mum didn't want me going to the shops (only 2-3 mins away from our home) at 12, didn't want me to date at all, didn't want me to go out with any males alone, didn't want me to go on any sleepovers, didn't want me to wear any short or ripped clothes and didn't want me to express my opinions or change my identity related to religion and sexuality freely. At 15, I wasn't allowed on sleepovers, wasn't allowed out with males, wasn't allowed relationships and wasn't allowed out frequently, to parties, to male's houses or to invite them even for studying or to go anywhere alone. At 16 my mum wants me back home before 9, even in the holidays. Doesn't want me to have sex or engage in any romantic relationships, which is my right- at 16 I'm free from parental control and can do what I want. Even if I live with her, she can't control what goes on outside her roof. If she had been less of a control freak and set boundaries with people who abused me rather than constantly punishing and holding ME to unrealistically high standards, we'd have a positive relationship. But no. It was always " You're so oversensitive! Look at the positives. Only weak and crazy people go to the counselor!" My mum got a bit better over the past few years in terms of her attitudes towards therapy, but her overprotective and overbearing nature is still there, it's not excusable just because she's my mother and I've been abused by my dad and family. No matter what, I've always been the incapable, disobedient child who has no boundaries, is spoiled and needa harsh punishment just for trying to express myself through frickin clothing when I was already so restricted and suffocated by relatives. Western people and authorities understand this but whenever I have spoken to family or any Eastern adult figure, they have not understood this. Its just a toxic culture of victim blaming that I grew up in and I get angry knowing my mother is wrong and I'm right but I end up considering her fiction to be fact and playing all those justifications and double standards in my head. I experience a state of dissociation. Based on your knowledge, Psych2go, would you classify my family as toxic? I know I certainly would and all trusted adults I have spoken to, including my friends, feel the same way except for Eastern counterparts. Most importantly, I validate myself. Thank you so much for your channel- as a young person, I even tried to commit suicide and your channel completely changed my mindset.
This is my new, positive mindset.
My family was wrong and they are accountable- it's my life and I'm not obligated to fulfill them or make them happy.
This is the west, not the east. As long as the law is on my side and authorities support me, nothing else matters and the law will always be on my side now that I'm an adult. This is the UK, not Pakistan.
I can step foot on the moon if I want to- there is nothing I'm not capable of.
The days of restrictions are behind me- the past is in the past. I'm an adult now, free from parental control and the law is the end all be all- my family's delusional fiction does NOT change fact.
I CANNOT change other people's shitty mindsets, but I can change myself. I can get up, shower every day, do my work, exercise and do what makes me laugh, makes me feel safe, makes me feel comfortable, makes me feel happy and I KNOW MY RIGHTS. I DO NOT FRICKIN OWE ANYONE MY BODY OR MY LIFE. READ TEN TIMES OVER. I TRANSFORMED FROM A COWARDLY YOUNG CHILD TO A BOLD, HEADSTRONG YOUNG PERSON WITH CLEAR VISION. ALL THANKS TO PSYCH2GO ❤

Good for you, honey. Everything you said is absolute truth. You are the ONLY one who decides what's best for you, and you are free to explore and ascertain what is your unique approach to your life and existence. I'm proud of you and I'm sorry that your family does not appreciate or respect your individuality. I'm glad you recognize that their worldview is a farce and until (unless) they realize that, you'll always be criminalized for it. No matter. Be free! 🎉🎉🎉

I find flirting is very much based on the cultural context. I can flirt in a much more natural, friendly and easy going way in english (I find that language engages you in a fluent and impactful shared narration) then while chatting with ladies in my french province, and my mastery of french is much less poor then my understanding of english, so it's not the same challenge either. In my country and especially my province, seducing someone never worked out for me (or hardly at all, frankly). Maybe speaking french in english communities feels exotic to others and is a friendly flag for new relationships. The needs, desires and expectations of women might drastically differ as well, from one culture to another. In english provinces, I found ladies much more romantic then back home in french Canada. While travelling in Asia (when I had a reason to be introduced to ladies), when discovering english communities or while meeting other travellers from all around the world, it was much easier, more fluent and fulfilling to enjoy seduction. I could create friendliness with women, which is dear to me. If there is a bit of fun, kind humour and playfulness while flirting, it feels more satisfying, natural and I find it helps creating bonds. Meeting people that are friends of friends is also useful to create an engaging link. A different way of breaking the ice. Seducing while travelling expands and intensifies any experience, I'd say (well, anything while on a journey is more intense to me). Sitting at a counter in a pub or approaching someone already drinking at the counter makes things easier as well for me. Once, I really wanted to share a beer with someone when at a pub in the States. I offered a drink to a friendly looking and charming lady, she thanked me but told me she'd be too busy to chat with me, but I frankly just needed to share something with a beautiful someone. She accepted a drink and ended up chatting with me for a while, which felt unexpected. I love that aspect of meeting someone new. Sometimes, I find that women from other cultures have a little noble vibe to them. Lately, I really wonder how it feels to others when they flirt, meet new people, create relationships. I ask myself what would be a pleasent and fulfilling romance to ladies. I love being romantic, but only certain people (and certain cultures) seem to appreciate it as well. I'm highly grateful when women are romantic towards me. It's moving! Maybe people in my province are just slightly more materialistic/superficial in essence and feel threatened by deeper discussions and relationships. I can't be certain. Nevertheless, I'll always prefer creating bonds with people from other cultures, at the very least. It expands the intensity of meeting someone new, from a different gender, psychoemotionally and intellectually different as well. Thanks for your creative, kind and warm videos by the way! I appreciate them.

I'm a little dubious on the idea that telling a joke or compliment is an 'ineffective' strategy. Considering those are the two biggest ice breakers and even videos on this channel have held them up as such. Maybe I misunderstood that part of the video? The only thing I could think is the idea of going right into a joke before even giving your name. I guess I could see that. Beyond that, another good video!

  • @DeRez19

Thank God you called out how lame pick up lines are lol. I also tried the compliment approach and it is waaay too straightforward, even if you say something about their personality or clothing style.
Women seem to like the mysterious more than the straightforward, which sucks for most guys because naturally we are straightforward lol. That's why we have to "learn" how to flirt and whatnot.
I'm still really bad at it, and that's mainly because I stopped approaching women. I'm not sure if I'll start again any time soon, but good luck to those who do.

As a guy who’s always wanted to be in a long lasting relationship with a woman (sadly still single at 22) I’ve always been too nervous to directly ask a girl out. Personally, it’s easier online and or in a online game, than irl… for the one reason, I have no irl friends or anyone to even converse with… but I’m the guy who will always be respectful, kind, loving, caring, extremely empathetic (I will cry if a close friend is crying, and all I want to do is give them a comforting hug) and loyal. Another difficulty is finding a girl that is appealing to me, and my morals. The most important thing to me is that she’s a kind, Christian girl, who shares my views on emotions and interactions.

also like humor you do best to meet them halfway. evary person got thair own style of humor and flirting they like.
