- In July 1997 I was invited to spend a week in Alaska doing some extensive flying on the route network of Reeve Aleutian Airways and to sample life onboard Reeve legendary fleet of props and jets, a chance never to be missed. The following days will be filled with pure flying heaven from early morning hours until after midnight, getting to know what flying life is alike alongside the Aleutian islands of Alaska and Unalaska, onboard vintage and piston engine aircraft.

I flew on an Electra from Cold Bay to Adak Aug-74. Across the isle was a very well dress man with what I later found out was a diamond-studded walking cane. Someone told me that was Bob Reeve, the owner of the airline. I have kicked myself in the ass for over 40 years that I didn't ask him to sign my ticket!!!!! As far a great sounding engines,, there is nothing sweeter than an
Allison starting up.
Just ran across your channel and love the RV 727. My only RV flight was iirc May 2000 extra section flt BET DLG ANC. Was 5 pax. Like riding in a la-z-boy. Great customer service especially with my hat purchase at BET.
Oh nice the Jt8d engine spoolup @ full power. The beauty of old planes.
Definitely a lot better sounding than today's planes. Pure jet!
i like so much the 727 vintage wing!
Wow the sights and sounds take me back. Reminds me of all the flights I took aboard Eastern, Pan Am, Lufthansa, and JAT 727s during my youth in the 70s and 80s. Great memories.
I’m born and raised from bethel and this totally takes me back to my teens. I always thought it was a treat to fly Reeve in the 727 because most of the time we took either Markair or Alaska with the same old 737-200’s
The High Spool-effect from the JT8D-7B powered Boeing 727-100 kind of sounds similar to the JT8D-217/-219 from the MD-80 Series.
Flew 727's mostly with PSA and Eastern, loved them old birds. When I was in Alaska, only RAA flights I caughts were Lockheed Electra's, which by the way, bases for the P3 Orion. Another fine aircraft.
Great video! My favorite airplane and my favorite engines!
Great footage!! I love the Boeing 727!!
