Website
familie-wimmer.com/hobby/hr16/index.html
All videos are all filmed by myself since 1993.
I love Classic and especially Soviet Aviation.
I moved back to Japan in 2017. Since then I opened a new "sub-series" THE SIGHTS OF JAPAN, visible in the title.
These videos feature the stunning beauty of Japan from sky view on out dated planes with limited life expectancy, such as the B 767 and B 777-series.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the Sights & Sounds of Aviation and my way of seeing Aviation.

What is absolutely wonderful about propeller engines compared to jet engines is that they captivate all the senses. For example, the spinning blades are mesmerising, the sound of the engines are just glorious in your ears, and the smell of the Kerosene fuel is just intoxicating
Thank you very much for show us, a big hug from Rio de Janeiro!

@sightsandsoundsofaviation i can't thank you enough for providing such a great nostalgic experience to fly back in the those days on a now gone aircraft.
I like this plane It’s face looks tired and sad. Makes the plane More relatable

I was a flight attendant from 1982 - 2015, and I can very well remember my flights to Seoul at the end of the 1990´s. Because the return flights to Europe were mostly dayflights, they were not always fully booked, like this one. Made it much more comfortable for the passengers and cabin crew. Most passengers prefered nightflights. This aircraft was retrofitted with a individual entertaiment system a year later. This was faulty and caused a deadly fire in the flight deck, causing the horrible crash. Luckily, this new entertainment system was not yet installed on this particular flight shown here.
I think this is the only uploaded footage of the DC-10 safety video of United from the 90s despite it being shown only in audio

The flight attendant looks like the kind of young woman I'd like to have on the waitstaff where I work as a dishwasher. During the twelve years I lived in Ithaca New York, I used to fly back to my native Charlotte, with my girlfriend Harris and my mom for special things like Christmas etc. Flying out of Ithaca Tompkins Regional Airport, we'd fly US Air Express, which later became US Airways Express to one of their hubs, New York LaGuardia, Philly, or Pittsburgh. From there, we'd take a mainline jet flight on to Charlotte. Between Ithaca and those three hubs, we flew on various regional turboprop airliners that included the Beechcraft 1900, Jetstream 31, Shorts 360, and my favorite of all of those aircraft, the DeHaviland Dash-8 100. DeHaviland has since changed their name to Bombardier. The Dash 8 was my favorite because it was a turboprop airliner which the cabin had the most resemblance to that of a mainline aircraft. The AN-24 has a lot of resemblance to the Dash-8 100. That's how this video brings back those fond memories. On one return flight from LaGuardia back to Ithaca, our flight attendant was someone who had waitressed at the restaurant in Ithaca where I worked at the time. She remembered me and my Rolling Stones lingo that originated from the Rolling Stones song, "Shaddered. She was very glad to see me, and meet my girlfriend, Harris Charlina Irene. During the cruise portion of the flight, after she had finished serving drinks, she kneeled in one of the two empty seats in front of Harris and me, and we had a long conversation with her about my fascination for turboprops airliners. We talked a lot about how Harris and I wished that 737's could be turboprop instead of fan jet, with six bladed props instead of four, and how it would be more fuel efficient but a bit slower on the down side. Unlike, most of the public, I'm a big fan of turboprop airliners. I love the sounds that the props make, the "box fan" sound in ground idle and taxiing, and the low pitched drone in takeoff and inflight. Many say that driving a vehicle with a manual transmission is "Real Driving". I say that flying in a propeller driven airliner is "Real Flying". Contrary to popular belief, I myself understand that a turboprop engine is a turboJET engine with a propeller attached. That's why it's called a "Turboprop". The propeller provides 90 percent of the thrust while the jet exhaust adds an additional 10 percent thrust. That's why turboprop engines are more fuel efficient than fan jet engines, which rely mostly on the exhaust for propulsion. However, most people, when they hear the word "Turboprop", they think of a turbocharged piston prop engine that's basically a "Porsche" engine with a propeller attached. But if you listen to the turboprop engine when it fires up, you can hear the whine of the jet engine as the propeller starts to rotate and gain speed. You can also hear it when it shuts off, and winds down.
This is a night flight. This brings back memories of when I lived in Ithaca New York, and used to fly from Ithaca to a US Airways hub in New York LaGuardia, Philly. or Pittsburgh. My girlfriend Harris and me, and my mom used to fly back to my native Charlotte NC for special things like Christmas etc. Between Ithaca and the hubs, from which we took a mainline jet flight to Charlotte, we flew on versus regional turboprop airliners that were known as "puddle jumpers" because of the short hops that they made. The aircraft that we flew on included the Beechcraft 1900, Jetstream 31, Shorts 360, and my favorite of all of those aircraft, the DeHaviland Dash 8 100. DeHaviland has since changed thier name to Bombardier. The AN 24 has a lot of resemblance to the Dash 8. The cabin of the Dash 8 100 and the AN 24 are almost identical. They closely resemble that of a mainline aircraft. I''ve become a big fan of turboprop airliners. I wish that mainline aircraft were turboprop instead of turbofan. I love the sounds that the props make, the "box fan" sound in ground idle and taxiing, and the low pitched drone in takeoff and inflight. I myself understand that contrary to popular belief, a turboprop engine is a turboJET engine with a propeller attached. The propellers provide 90 percent of the thrust, while the jet exhaust adds an additional 10 percent thrust. However, most people, when they hear the word "Turboprop", they think of a turbocharged piston prop engine. They basically think that the engines inside the nasals of a turboprop airliner are Porsche engines. But if you listen to the turboprop engine when it fires up, you can hear the whine of the turbojet engine as the propeller starts to rotate and gain speed. You can also hear the jet whine when it shuts off and winds down.

38:28〜Is there a video of the full announcement?
I am sorry, this is all. These are standardized announcements of ANA, which I may have recorded on my other videos. Please check out my channel.
@@sightsandsoundsofaviation Do you plan on flying with ANA again after Tottori?
