I bought a projector in 2012 I was so pissed. Damn thing still works lol not the best quality but the kids loved it. Best 400 I ever spent looking back. I never could of afforded a real one and the kids didn't know any different and neither did their friends

This happened to me yesterday. I knew right away it was a scam but thru my smooth talking I got the guys number after telling him my check comes in a few hours and i can meet up with him then. Is it technically illegal what they are doing? If so i wanna inform the cops. This is a sophisticated scam where they rent a warehouse and do this on a large scale basis from what ive read

I bought some white van davinci speakers in the early 2000's from a co-worker and I actually really liked them. I had them for over a decade and they worked perfectly and shook the house! I finally gave them to a friend after I invested in some Philips surround setup which broke after about 2 years.
Dude, you are freakin' AWESOME! I am so happy I found this video and was able to see and appreciate your outlook on this scam. They got me just the other night for $400 bux! I went home and immediately started to feel like sh!t LOL! Same as you...looked legit with the packaging and sorts, but I have yet to actually really fire the thing up. I too got the screen with Bluetooth surround sound speakers. In all actuality, I would most definitely spend at LEAST $400 on all the components that I purchased, so in that sense I was trying to look on the bright side. If everything works and lasts me at least a year than I guess I will stop feeling so bad. I am curious to know if you are still using the projector and if the resolution in the specs were at all accurate. LOL...I'm still looking for hope! :)
JayReese09 The projector isn't even HD, much less 3D 4k. But I have been using to throw movies on my wall as a play guitar on Twitch, which is pretty cool. Sorry you got scammed. I hope your stuff ends up working for you.
Thanks man. At least the thing came with a screen and a Bluetooth speaker set up. Picture might look like crap once I hook it all up but...OH WELL! Live and learn man...It's going in the damn basement. I'll report back just for kicks once it's all set up ;-)

Gabriel Navarro LOL! I hear ya man...I STILL hadn't hooked it up yet! LOL! I am going to try to use the speakers and I did hang the screen. My plan is to just get a new projector and call it a day. No use harboring on it. They got us, fair and square. We should have known it was too good to be true. It does bite though...that money could have went towards so many other things. Oh well

They are very convincing. When they got me, they even had a "Popular Mechanics" magazine with the items and a write up in the book. I thought, "okay, its a brand ive never heard of but with all the info theyv shown me, i went ahead and did it. Haha, they did get me but id say the equipment is more like $150 quality not the $300 i paid. Lesson learned though.
yes but after all that, you will have no guarantee if something goes wrong.. i try to buya new TV and i am trying to chose between known brands and i am not verry sure what to choose. i can t imagine myself buying a brand i ve never heard of.. when i was 14-15 i bought a "camera" from a guy on the street that was chineese and very poor quality for 80euros.. almost everyonehave been scamed..

If these where 20 each then maybe that would be a good accessory. Then again that's what the factory charges but then I would presume they would want a bulk order so none of that would work out anyway.
the specs alone on this projector had me second-guessing it to begin with 40000 to 1 contrast ratio like double of some of the highest ones online that I've seen not to mention 4000 + a n s i lumens which is a certified measurement typically the highest you'll see is 600 to 800 , uncertified you might see around six to eight thousand and then the MSRP like two to three times most of the high-end projectors and like 10 times the cost of the average projector but I definitely would like to see it in person and how it does in a dark room but I'm pretty sure the specs are bogus

I want to thank you for this video. I've been greatly upset I allowed myself to be taken advantaged of by this. But your outlook on this was truly inspiring. Got scammed in Houston a few weeks ago with the same set up but different names. The speakers are heavy but haven't tried to hook them up. The projector says it's a 4k Odyssey. It's almost identical to the one you have. Ended up giving the guy 800.00 for surround sound, projector, and 72" black screen. Wish I knew how to put pictures on here.

This happens to me 2 days ago I have the same story that you all have but well that's ok with me the projector looks good and I've tested it and the best thing is I'm not the only one lol....the brand is LOCUS Led projector...
I was offered one of those system this morning in the parking lot of home depot I even scan the QR barcode with my phone using the scanner app and it did came on so they really make good knockoffs becarefull guys just think if you have an extra system in the back of your truck from work worth 5k would you sell it for 1k instead of trying to sell it on eBay or Craiglist for more money or just install it in your house
And the cheap projector would actually be good for outdoor movie nights, vs risking damaging a $1,000 projector.
They always show up in white vehicles, cheapest to rent. Now you know string them along till they get pissed off, its a lot of fun.
I have $1000 worth of counterfeit $20 bills in my glove box for the sole purpose of giving these chumps a taste of their own medicine should I run into them one day. I don't care if it's a piece of shit, I can't wait to get my free projector and/or home theater system :)

RushFPS ManiacGamersDotCom The bills I have are printed on a kind of paper that feels like real money and has the right color. You can tell they're fake when you look closely, but these guys are in a hurry to make off with the money, so they will not notice until much later. All they're gonna do at the time of the exchange is open the envelope and shit their pants at the sight of all that "money" in there. I will be long gone by the time they realize that they themselves got conned. Maybe they won't notice at all and will be arrested trying to pass one of them at a legitimate business. Hahaha!
How did you print them? I've run into a guy that does this scam at the bank too coincidentally. Luckily I told him no, but he does go around my city. I really wanna do this too if I run into him again.

I got hit with this mess however I got it for 500 , so many emotions felt like I got a deal and then felt ripped off but then it worked and now I just feel like I got what I paid for ? I mean it's reasonable for maybe 500 hundred, but I didn't get some mega deal lol

years ago i bought some "DaVinci" speakers lol..they got me for 200 bucks, the guy told me they retailed for 2500$.this was before smartphones so i couldn't look it up. .i got home and checked ebay and they were trying to sell them there for like 80$..obviously no one was buying them lol.. lesson learned, if it's too good to be true, it is.

My co worker just bought some Nolyn Accoustics speakers out of a van yesterday. My friend should have at least googled the brand because when he told me the story at work the next morning nothing but Nolyn Acooustic SCAAAAMMMMMMM you tube videos popped up. LOLOLOLOLOLOL. My friend started his story telling me about the speakers because he was just curious how to make em work cuz he still hadn't figured it out. Anyway so we started to watch the youtube videos. Absolutely hilarious. I know that its sad to see someone get scammed but if you spend $200 on major life lessons like Ben Brown explained at the end of this video I think the education one may get from this is priceless. I bought speakers out of van when I was like 20 years old. I even knew about the scams but I thought huh I can spend $120 on a pair of knock off speakers.

Well everyone be aware. Now they are with a new brand called Legacy LCI 98. I felt for it and paid $300.00 But, I guess is worth close to that. They wanted $1000 and said it was valued $5000. The worst of all is that if you search over the internet, their scam is well set up. It does show $5590.00 value and seems legitimate. It is so well prepared that I wouldn't doubt that a millionaire pig is behind of this scam. You have to have money to pull up this scam so well.
Thanks Andy. You're info here is the closest thing to a review I've been able to find on the internet. I was almost going to buy a new Legacy LCI-98 with a sound system and screen for $399 + shipping ($44) from an eBay seller, but wanted to look for reviews. I couldn't find a review anywhere online at all, and the Legacy website is very minimal, as far as being able to contact anyone at the company. There is no "About" page showing a business address or anything like that.
With our latest technology you should have googled these items before purchase on your phone.

A few years ago 2 guys in a van tried to scam me and my brother for some sound system...You know its fake when their pitch line is like a bum, Blah blah blah money for drugs.

lmao, i was just approached buy 2 guys in a van, i already have a portable projector but the guy had "4k" projector valued at 6000.00 dollars and wanted 600.00 dollars, i felt something wrong from the very beginning. i didn't really want to buy it but i started going on my phone and checking reviews on it and saw it was a scam.
it seems like the scam is giving people some projectors they didn't want. btw the projector they tried to sell me was an "Icon"
Almost got “got” in CO with the same set up but odyssey projector and bmw speakers. Guy talked fast said it was worth $3000 and he would do $1200 I said $1000. We were in my bank parking lot. He showed me the website where it’s worth $5000 just for the projector. I said ok, he loaded the stuff in my van and he had a nice Volvo suv rental. I went into the bank, I was in line and something didn’t feel right. I googled odyssey projector and scam came up so I walked out without withdrawing money (thank fucking god). I gave him the stuff back and he still tried to sell it to me. That was a close one I probly should have fucked him up, but I was glad just to get out of there. Crazy how shiny things can and “deals” can get us to fork over loads of cash to some piece of shit.
Shittttt the crazy part is he never said what he paid , he went to the bank and waited online which means he withdrew more then 5t o 600 which is 90% of all banks maximum ATM allowance a day . So 😬😕😔🔫💡

Same thing happened to me in Jacksonville, FL. The dude hit me up at the Lowes parking lot. Started at 800, and I talked him down after two attempts to leave saying i was not interested. He settled for 300. Got home and looked it up. Since the average buyer spent about 500 I feel like got a good deal. 300 for a projector and screen, i know i get what i paid for but i will be happy if the bulb lasts a full year. I have to start looking at what the replacement bulbs go for. The website looks like garbage with little to no support on the product.
I did the same thing at Home Depot in Pompano Florida, I got it for $300 last year. I forget and leave it on the same time 24 hours a day. I have absolutely no problem with it. I have my laptopt, my Samsung Blu-ray player. And also my pioneer av with surround sound. Im having a blast with it. it worked great for me

LMAO I just got scammed today by same guys. Only this time they call themselves BerlinAudio. guy tried to get 650, we ended up settling at $100 USD and I took it home. supposedly 1000 watts, I don't think so but I think I got away a lot luckier some of these other people did.

I just got scammed today. This was also my first experience and this guy was ridiculously prepared with fabricated material. Fake ID, fake order form from the local Buffalo Wild Wings, fake installation company and work polo, fake websites supporting his claims and product and of course a very well made box. He got me for $700 for a “4K projector”... He had a similar story where he wanted to make some money off extra equipment that was sent to him for the BWW install. He was very professional and well spoken and seemed like a genuinely nice guy. I’m extremely skeptical when it comes to purchasing equipment, so trust me I was very thorough with my questioning. EYE OPENING experience. I live in a very nice area of Houston and crime is rare. Evil people are everywhere, even right down the street at the gas station you frequent every week.

Got me for $100 on a home theater system, I'd say I came out pretty cheap scam wise 😁... I've heard of people paying up to $700 for low quality no name TVs and HD projectors. The good ol "white van speaker scam".

Just got scammed in SA,tx. these guys had a Cadillac mini suv. they dressed decent. the box looks legit. they have a website. i didn't look at reciever close enough. no hdmi connections... like the saying goes. if its too good to be true. it probably is. been over 20 years since been scammed with fake gold necklace. guess i was do. for those wanna talk smack about "how dumb can you be" if you have credit card debt. you're gettin scammed every month...
Just got scammed in San Antonio too. I filed a police report because the guy gave me his ID and i took a picture of his license plate. I wasn't even that mad about, just the fact the guy was like 19 pissed me off. Happened in Stone oak San Antonio. I paid $400 so it was not too too terrible but still. LOL
Sedated Bear next time these guys do something like that to you or anyone is selling something like this in a parking lot it might actually work if it’s all sealed up like that but it is guaranteed to be junk or they would just sell it on eBay. So just offer them 30 to 50 bucks if they give it to you for that then you might actually get your moneys worth. If you come across someone that really does have something worth $1000 and you only pay $50 for it then you might actually really come up.
