    My father taught me the Windsor knot when I was 12 years old, almost 60 years ago, and it's the absolute best way to tie a tie. One more addition to this knot can take place when you loop the wide end through the last time so it finally hangs in front: when you pull gently you can come up with a nice notch or dimple in the tie just at the knot that adds a nice finishing touch. It's a beautiful symmetrical knot.

    • @thatxonexguy5438
      @thatxonexguy5438 2 роки тому

      It being symmetrical is the reason why i like this knot. A lot of people hate this knot because of that, but a four in hand or any other asymmetrical knot just looks awful abd sloppy as if you dont know how to tie your tie properly.

    Thanks for the clear instruction and dry humor! I used to tie the very basic ‘Oriental Knot’ but a lot of people commented on how bad it looked. The full Windsor used to intimidate me but I finally got it down! Took me more like 5 minutes and a few tries (thin end was way too long first 3 attempts), but I got it and I look sharp 😎

    Patrick, I've been tying ties since I was a teenager, but have only recently become interested in tying full Windsor knots (after watching several seasons of Suits on Netflix! 😁). I have looked at several UA-cam videos on how to tie them. Most of the presenters did an exemplary job in tying them, but I just wasn't getting the tie right, at least not consistently. When I ran across yours, your explanation about how wrapping the blade of the tie to make shoulders for the knot was a game changer for me, it all made sense! My only suggestion would be for the users to pinch the very top of the tie as they pull it through the final time to give a dimple. Your presentation was brilliant! Thank you. Great job...

    Thank you!!
    Thank you!!!
    Years ago my grandfather showed me how to tie a full Windsor yet I never quite got it. As a result I always did a half Windsor.
    Today for the first time I got it right thanks to you!
    Much appreciated 😊

    Worked great first try! Heard so many people say how hard this knot is and complain but this made their arguments invalid, it’s all about the teacher.

    Hiya and a very BIG thank you!!!!!! The video is SO easy to follow, and perfect result EVER time now. The reason I wanted to learn is unusual, I am a member of my local Church. The number of members who only buy clip ons surprised me, as many are older men who I thought would know how to tie a tie properly. But I've made a rod for my own back as everyone asks me how to do it. So some good came of it HA HA!!!!!!! Cheers!!!!!!!!!

    You deserve a subscribe and like and all the accolades! I had watched so many UA-cam videos on this over the years and have never succeeded in getting a good Windsor knot and now I got a job requiring me to wear suit and tie everyday and the buddy I used to tie them moved far away. For some reason I stumbled upon your video and it clicked, I tied my tie and went and tied 10 more of my untied ties. I was doing the last step backward. Thanks
