When is it best to use a full windsor vs the half windsor knot? Does it depend on how wide the collar is on the shirt?
Reef Knots yes thank you very much tomorrow is my prom so very useful
Reef Knots hi
Reef Knots could you show doing a bow tie, please
Hugs
Thank you, English Edward Norton. Going to nail my interview today
How did it go
@@alteredtate5899 I got the job! Thank you for asking
@@AC-hj9tv ayyyy niiiiice
A C good job!
It's been literal months. But nonetheless, belated congrats!
I cannot figure this out for heaven's sake, it always ends up looking like some abstract art
Yea same... lol
Go step by step slowly and don’t let it get twisted, keep the wrap flat as you go, if that makes sense. Also keep it snug enough as you go along.
Make sure you're tucking the big piece through the loop at the end.
Also at the beginning the smaller side of the tie has the back facing outwards
Im not sure but go slow and then if you cant get it maybe try another video?BEST OF LUCK MATE!
I remember I used to effortlessly tie it while running to my school on late days. Years later, I find myself seeking UA-cam help. Thanks for the lesson & memories UA-cam 🙏
So weird how that works! You think it'd be like riding a bike, but then you have the stupid thing in your hands and you're like, "shit now what?" 😂😂
Once my friend helped me tieing and after 3 yrs still haven't opened the knot I still use it
@E-611 bro that's real
@E-611 🤝🏼🤣🤣
Him: this should take less then a minute
Me who has been trying this for almost an hour without successfully tying the tie: 👁👄👁
Me but I haven’t been able to get it right because he’s such a stupid idiot and once you turn it over it’s backwards
I got it right on the first try you are probably not using the right length
@@350chevy9 You need to start with the right side up (the side that is going to be facing outwards-forwards-to the people) starts out that way. You DON''T flip it backwards at the beginning. It just seems that way in the video because of how his ties have the tag.
Lol!
@@3styFekt thx
this is the final hurdle of me achieving my manhood.
So you think. Life always figures out some new way to challenge us.
Manhood is an ongoing process of continual refinement, as is womanhood.
Yall shouldn't take comments like this seriously.
I just want to thank you guys for the past year I’ve been interviewing for internships and got one and now I’m interviewing for a marketing job. Every single time I’m putting on a suit I watch this video to make sure my tie looks nice 😂
We’ll take you all the way to CEO mate!
Oh wow!!!! Thank you!!!! I never knew how to do this. My son was in a pinch and couldn’t get his tie on correctly. With the help of this video, I was able to tie his tie in under 3 minutes. I’m celebrating!!!!! #happymom #boymom #grateful #feelingaccomplished Thank you once again!!!!

Never tied a tie before.. needed it for a wedding today.. life saver.. easy and simple to follow :)
Glad we were able to get it sorted for you! Enjoy the wedding!
Great video!
I have been tying asymmetrical half Windsor knots for 40 years. When you tied it in what I would have considered the opposite direction, it blew my mind. Such a nice looking knot now. Thank you from San Antonio, TX.
Started wearing ties to church and this video helped with that
After 16 attempts, I finally got a passable tied tie. Without this video, I would've just had knotted fabric around my neck 👍
0:30 , I clapped and my tie didn't tie itself... thumbs down
ROTFL 😂 😂 😂 😂 that's too funny right there. I really appreciate this video it was very informative.
Wow you really serious? Haha.

We're you using the feather technique or the quil technique?
By far the most useful tie tying video on YT. Short, to the point and easy to understand for a novice like me. Well done, old chap.
You’re too generous! Thank you 😎
Retro Game Lounge vggyy
This video does literally nothing to explain why it's going to come out an ugly cluster because it forgot how to pay attention to the subtle way you have to manipulate the knot
@@ReefKnotsUK He's right on the money Reef. I needed this tonight and you have my gratitude as well.
It took me a couple of tries but I realized I had to make the thinner side a lot shorter then the wider side. Came out great! Thanks man you’re a life saver 🙏
Glad it helped!
Thank you! My son is now ready for his presentation! Will be having him study some of your other videos. Thanks again!
0:34 I need to put this here for every morning till I’m good
Did you master it yet?😂
I believe in u!

@@ReefKnotsUK Thank you. Paps never really taught me how to tie a tie sooo believe me when I say I'm super grateful.
I struggled for YEARS trying to tie this knot.. i wish i wouldve found this sooner. Super eay and my knot look amazing. 10/10
Thank you so much! I was struggling a lot but I was able to get your knot super fast.
Thank you for the interesting and informative lesson on how to tie the half-Windsor knot, especially for the clue on crossing over on the opposite side to generate the more symmetrical knot. My half-Windsor now looks the best I've ever tied it. Your explanation was very clear and easy to follow.
You are welcome!
This is definitely my favorite knot as well, I always just watch a video to make sure I’m doing it correctly
😄😄 you save me,, tomorrow is my interview, I was just sweating to tie the tie, finally you have helped me.
I dont know what im doing wrong. Everytime i just end up with some cluster**** around my neck
That what a tie knot is! Just go with it!
I know and it looks shit
I did it once but it wasn’t my neck and I couldn’t get it up so I had to restart
Me too
I slowed the speed of the video to .25 and faced the same direction he did. I kept messing up before doing that.
Your video is the best and easiest yet for such a nice tie knot or whatever you call it My son was graduating and couldn’t figure out how to do the tie 😂TY SO MUCH!!!
Thank you for your help I finally learned to put a tie before this i saw a video many times but I didn't succeed after watching this twice I succeed I am feeling extremely happy thank you ones again 😀😀🙂🙂😃
Thank you very much, now I can look better at my school concert today and formal dance tomorrow
0:54 wow this is something I have never thought of, using an opposite direction wrap around to finish the tie. I tried it this morning and I don't think I'll ever go back to doing it any other way. Thanks for the tip!
Best tie tutorial💪🏼👏🏼
30 mins before the wedding, watching this help me and the boys. big thanks.
Such a important thing for a young generation. I hope this helps so many over the years.

This was very easy to learn!
You were easy to teach! 👊👔

this is seriously the best and easiest windsor knot tutorial ive seen!
53 years old and looking to shake up my tie game. Got this knot on the second try using your method. Thanks for the help!! Now I just need to learn how to put the dimple in the middle! Greetings from Texas!!
Glad it helped!
Funny watching this video, I saw what I was doing wrong with my knot. I wasn’t doing the first pull through, just the wrap behind-over and through. Thank you for the video! No more uneven tie!
My wife watched this once and had it down! Myself on the other hand, I can’t tie just about anything else, besides this
🤪🤩🤣
Thank you. I am from from India and I had to wear a tie for an interview and your video saved my day
Watched this video a few times before I got a hang of it without watching and it was easier then what I thought. Much appreciated on the video.

Thank you soo much, I have tried everyone else's methods and they seemed like Chinese instructions, but yours was clear and direct, now I'm ready for some job interviews.
I think my tie is broken.
Thanks so much for this video! I’ve struggled for years, but with this video, I tied four ties in under 2 mins! I was shocked I got it so quickly, and was really shocked at how easy it is. I made perfect knots! I’m 47 and can’t wait to show my dad, who has always tied my ties for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is Celestino from Angola.
You helped me out a great deal. I needed somebody to tie a knot for me this morning, but I found nobody around. But I thank God because you made this video available for me.

Thank you, sir! 56 years old here and living in Arizona so I rarely find a need for anything more than business casual. You saved my bacon this evening. Again, thanks!

Thank you! Life saver! I don’t have to wear a tie often but I can always count on you guys to walk me through. Such a great service you provide.
I remember when I was 7 and saw my dad tying his tie and asked hi. if he could teach my and he said he'd teach me when I'm older. now I'm here....
Sadest story ever and it's been sat here for 7 months :-(
I have tied many knots of the years, had to do one the other day and was so unhappy with it's asymmetrical look, that I finally looked up how the pros do it and very happy with it.
Thanks a lot.
This is the best video to tie a tie.. i watched 10 videos before this and i only need to watch this video once and got it... thank you so much
0:28 step 1: clap
step 2: done
I don’t know why everyone doesn’t do it that way! It’s easy once you know the trick 😏
Haha so funny!
I had to watch 3 other videos before finding yours and being successful 🙏🏼 thanks!
After 567,987 tries, now it only takes a minute. Thank you

This was the knot my Dad taught me when I first learned how to tie a tie. When done properly he would call it the vicious "V"
Yes my dad taught me too
I’ve got a smooshy square....
Whenever I want to tie a tie, this is the video I look for. I can do this one.
Thanks for the video on “how to tie a tie for people who already know how to tie a tie” 👍
Clear and straightforward instruction. I wear a tie so infrequently that I always manage to forget the various knots when I need them. This was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Quick and effective tutorial plus keeping the comment section fun. Awesome job, dude!
I never joke about tie knots. It’s too serious a topic. 😉
Yes,but who watched, some people who watched, add fun on the all thing..
As a they/them who always thought ties looked to bulky on me but love them this.THIS has made my inlaws party barable. Can fianlly wear my nice ties and look good. Thank you so much
Use this every time I have an interview. Thank you!
Concise, easy to follow and to the point, without the waffling that happens in some other tie tutorials- awesome!
Thanks for a very good tutorial - just would like to know how to adjust the tie when starting out so that the lengths of both sides turn out right. Isn't the tie supposed to end up just touching the top of your belt?
This was super easy, literally took 1 minute. Thank you
Thank you, this is my first time buying my own suit, will always remember this video
Great! Glad I could help!
This was so very simple to follow along with and make my own knot. Thanks a million!
I had to tie a tie for one of my classes and I saw urs and i was struggling until my dad came in a and helped me. Thank you for a good tutorial on how to tie a tie (Windsor knot)

My pleasure! Thanks for watching! 👔👊
Hey thanks for a perfect tutorial, this was great, simple and easy...whether you are an amateur or someone like myself who has been wearing bow ties or if you've had your butler knot your ties... then this is probably the only instructional video you'll ever need! Love the half Windsor too!
Been coming back to this video for a year or two now and I think I’ve finally got it down. Thanks for the help
The first ever tie knot video which gave me success over this thing.....
Great! Thanks for watching
Mine looks like a square how do i get that traingle sorta shape
Anønymøus Víds you’re probably trying it with a bow tie
Pinch the bottom as pull it up to your neck. The tighter you pinch the better the triangle.
Thank you this helped me get ready for an interview
I've watched the other knot tie videos on youtube, and this one by far is the best one. Easy to follow and works best.
Great to hear! Thanks
That was weird.
I've never tied a tie perfectly the first time, EVER. Thanks for this magic video
How many times did I go back and hear *CLAP* The Half Windsor Tie Knot
The British have failed me again
Hey mate, I just want to say thank you for all the great videos. As an American, I'm going to have to give it to you Brits -- you sure do know how to tie a good tie. Thanks for the fantastic walkthroughs, brother. Take care! - Jon
This is an easy method and my dad thinks it's hard and I cannot forget this method and I taught my dad this and he knows it so thank you so much for the method.
That's great!
