Being in these kinds of historic places often gives me a sense of perspective, reverence, and humility. Thanks for the ride!

Thanks David for the comment. This hike often found me pausing to wonder what it must have been like for the Creek families that were killed and forced off their ancestral lands.

@@DrJohn493 it also brings forward the fact that this 'concurring warrior' thing has been going on since the dawn of time - with every generation - even between some native American tribes - humans taking from other humans and treating each other poorly. I want to believe that we'll get better at all that - but the sobering pattern is quite clear: we're next in line. Chin up... have a happy day... hahaha.

Sobering truth indeed and afraid you're correct. I'm just glad I'm closer to the "end" than the "beginning." All things considered, we've lived through relatively peaceful times.

Good evening John, that was very interesting, beautiful place and nice to learn about the history that took place there. Great drive, very scenic. And the visitor center looked awesome too. Happy Easter to you! I hope you are doing well

Enjoyed the well-edited video, John, along with the bits of history you mentioned. That looks like a very nice park. Wasn’t familiar with it.

Thanks Carl, this was pre-RA. I had overlooked it for many years until I started looking for new trails to check out around Lake Martin.

Thanks for watching and leaving your comment Senior Hiker (me too in case you didn't notice 😉). In all my years living in Alabama, this is the first time I visited the park and I'm disappointed I didn't do so much sooner.
