Boy I think I'll have to get back to the Smokies soon. I miss it bad. Beautiful hike John 🤠❤️ I miss the water and scenery. I remember doing this particular hike.
This was a nice day hike in between the rainy weather while I was up there. I would like to make plans for this Spring to retrace the first backpacking trip I did in 1975 starting out in the Cades Cove area. Thanks for catching up on my latest posts. Trying to do the same with yours.
Lovely day for this hike! Really pretty to see the river as you’re walking along- and wonderful to see the sunshine! We really enjoy walking on the old railroad grades… nice elevation gain and they’re usually pretty wide! 👌 I miss the Smokies, thanks John! 😁👍👍💚
@@JenniferLupine My 2-3 day backpack weight in the southeast shoulder seasons and western summer season is down to about 28 lbs. My daypack weight is about 15-16 pounds bc I'm a belt and suspenders hiker. In my daypack, I could make do with an unforseen overnighter. Sooo, you are right!
Covered those trails this past Spring as part of our stays at CS 23 and 30, John. Your winter hike shows that area is just a beautiful in any season. Enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting!
Thanks again!! I didn't video one tricky stream crossing on this hike because I didn't want to cross it more than once. You should enjoy some good day hikes from your basecamp, especially with your son.
@@DrJohn493 I don’t blame you there. Yes we talked about it next time we’re close to Appalachian Trail doing a small section and having mom pick us up where it pops out and crosses another trail/road. So yeah I see us in the future doing some more hiking and exploring on foot.

Thanks for checking out my short hike and leaving your comment. The park's Elkmont area has a lot of hiking options and I was tempted to keep going.
@@DrJohn493 I bet! I guess if you had your big backpack and some food you could have! 👌

Thanks for watching and commenting Carl!
Loved it! I liked your use of different camera angles and shot placements. You’re encouraging me to hike more. Lol!

@@GetOverItOutdoors I'd look forward to that!
Nice to see you out on the trail again, John. Keep 'em comin'!
Thanks David! Now I gotta catch up on several of yours.
