We’re finally renovating our kitchen, and the first step is to raise the visual height of the room by eliminating the dead space above our short stock cabinets. To fill this space, I’m going to build a plywood box that’s slightly shorter than the gap so I can top it off with crown molding [thisoldhouse.com/molding/21016610/how-to-put-in-crown-molding].
I’m working with a company called Fast Cabinet Doors [fastcabinetdoors.com] for the doors. I gave them my measurements, and they sent me beautifully made doors with holes already bored for the hinges [thisoldhouse.com/furniture/21019221/fixing-loose-hinge-holes] and a routed opening for the glass.

Wood filler [amzn.to/3OqahE4]
¾-inch plywood [homedepot.sjv.io/baN4mP] to build the cabinet boxes
1 ¼-inch coarse thread pocket hole screws [homedepot.sjv.io/XYn0X4] to assemble the cabinet box and face frames
1x2x8 boards [homedepot.sjv.io/B0ym2x] to make the stiles and rails of the face frame
1x3x8 boards [homedepot.sjv.io/vNjGZO] or sized to the width of lower cabinet rails
1x6x8 boards [homedepot.sjv.io/LXmAZL] for the cabinet face frame
Crown molding [homedepot.sjv.io/Or4m1n] to cover the gap between the cabinet boxes and ceiling

With the he added shelf ,it clean but how did I paint over separation between 2 cabinets? Did I glu them and paint over the glue? You see the lines?

Lol. I just removed the white "Blah" paint from my cabinet doors and brought them back to the beautiful original wood. We painted the frames almost white, and it looks amazing. BTW, nice job, and did you just call your kitchen counter a "peninsula? I know it's attached to the wall, as counters often are, but that's hilarious.
Show more work with specificity. Talking through the process it is not nearly as helpful as seeing it being done.
Don't fall standing on this bottom cabinets. One wing step backwards and it's kerb in the hospital and mooore I know you wouldn't 2000 people outside your hospital room yelling at you. Lol nice work Jen. 👍🏼👊🏽
