    Welcome to Bowlers Paradise!
The ripcord line gets a new addition, and a recycled core design from a different line with the all new launch. Previously, the Ripcord line featured the dual density oblivion core and this newest release is powered inside by the torx V2 core previously featured in the Forza line, all wrapped in the MVP Pearl coverstock finished to that Motiv famous 5500 LSP.
The 3.5 x 5 x 3 2LS layout is the equivalent of a pin down layout for me. The last few releases from Motiv I have struggled to match up with, so we decided to do something different seeking an earlier beginning of the roll phase. And although I did consider knocking the surface down right away to add to that desire, for the sake of the video, I kept the out of box shine.
And on the lanes, the Ripcord Launch was kind of exactly what I expected. Being a mid-performance release, I didn’t get a ton of overall strength, but also, the continuation on the shots that did actually get into a good roll was quite good. Similar to the last few releases with Motiv, I had to keep my angles in front of me to have the ball do the right thing, but with how clean the cover is, that was ok as my best looks were when I stayed further outside.
You’ll see a couple shots that I have more angle through the fronts that just don’t have enough giddy up and go to get through the pocket, and as I moved left if I missed in the heart of the oil pattern it was basically a lost cause. But in my experimentation, the best reaction I saw was when I tried to hit it as hard as I possibly could. When I was as rev dominant as I can be, the Ripcord did everything I wanted it to and more. The only problem with that is well, I can’t do that every shot.
Thinking about a good pairing with this piece within the Motiv line, it has to be the carbide tank which we will be reviewing next week, so stay tuned for that. Having that early smooth motion paired with this clean but also smooth Ripcord launch would likely keep bowlers in the same zone most of a league night while only having to change balls as friction builds in.
And as always, here’s the two types of bowlers I think will match up best with this piece. One is definitely the rev dominant righty. If you can do anything near what EJ Tackett can do to a bowling ball, you’re probably gonna love this piece. The second would be tournament bowlers. Similar to the 3D Offset Attack from Hammer, the pairing of clean through the front with control downlane is sure to be in play when lane conditions are demanding.
Simply put, in the right hands, the all new Ripcord Launch from Motiv is sure to help your scores Launch all the way to the top of the leaderboard.

What I have found with Motiv stuff, specifically big/large cores, is get my drill angle less than 40 degrees to get the core tipped and wanting to start sooner. If I want the backend reaction to be big/quick I tightened up my VAL angle. I believe it has a lot to do with how clean their covers are. I too am a lower tilt player (10-12 degrees) but we are the same on rev rate and rotation. Once I figured this out, I def got some better, stronger and “ as advertised “ ball reaction. Still a firm believer that you need to be a bowler with hand & ball speed to get the most out of Motiv products. IMHO

Looks kind of like the Fatal Venom. Fair comparison? Love your reviews and think mentioning other balls (like you do the carbon tank in this) is really helpful for folks looking to buy.

Its close to the Fatal, but the core is bigger so it's a little slower response. Glad you like the reviews!

I might not have ej revs but my revs compared to my speed I feel like it matches his motion, 375ish rpm at around 13ish mph (my house measures speed at the line and not the breakpoint so it reads a bit slow) I think this ball would match up to me well

Being rev-dominant doesn't just mean putting 500+ on it. Based on the numbers you provided, I would agree that you are rev dominant and it could match up well.
