I really dig your "Best Of" videos. So nice to see the differences in ball reactions amongst the different balls to better make educated guesses. Thanks Ben
Same!! His axis rotation, ball speed, and rev count are almost identical to mine so Ive really been studying his videos to decode what to get. I just got back into bowling so my arsenal is a little on the outdated side. Well not as much outdated as it is just heavily used.
Took the reacta gloss off of the Ruby and went to 1000 and 2000 and used the new Smooth edge ball polish, and yeah this ball hits like a truck now and I csn use it on the fresh to and through the burn.
I have the Radical Karan Assault as my go to pearl and love it I also have a Bigfoot pearl pin down for when the lanes are really burnt up it a nice one two punch but that attention star looks amazing.
Love it. I definitely want to get that attention star. But your missing the brand new beyond infinity from your spring lineup. I just got mine and it's my new favorite ball so far
Interesting about the IQ Tour Ruby. From what I can tell this is the exact same ball as the original IQ Tour Pearl, the yellow one. And the brown "anniversary" IQ Tour Pearl some years later was the yellow one but done in brown. The only difference might be the polish level out of the box. I still have my yellow one and the anniversary one. They're good balls, and when drilled straight up can be super versatile.
The emerald from a few years ago was also a “rerelease” but if it is a true match with the R2S pearl, that would tell me that all the new cover technology is worthless, which I don’t believe. They’ve updated R2S pearl since the initial release (unofficially).
Ben, I am looking for a replacement for my aging Hammer Scorpion Sting, which I love. Can you identify the ball on the current market that you think is most similar to the Sting?
If you want to stay within brand, the Brunswick Ethos is probably your closest bet. If you're cool adventuring, the Xponent Pearl is probably the closest to what the sting was out of the box.
Hi there appreciate the vid, I'm a 1H no thumb bowler and right now I use a BW ghost pearl. The attention star and the violent collision seem nice but which would pair better with my current ball?
Hi - I’m in a junior bowling league. My question is what your thoughts are on the COLUMBIA 300 MESSENGER POWERCOR PEARL bowling ball? I’m 14 , use a 13 lb bowling ball now, and my league average is 145. Many thanks for your advice - Ronnie
Hey! Between the Troublemaker Pearl and Attention Star which one would you recommend for my arsenal? I currently have an Envy Tour Solid, TNT Solid, Blue Coral Venom, Hustle USA, and a polished Conspiracy Scheme. Two hander with ball speed 18-19 mph and rev rate in the upper 400s low 500s and low axis tilt
@@bowlersparadise2255 Thank you! I was actually thinking about having both at some point 😂 just wasn’t sure about the overlap. I’ll start off with the Attention Star!
Love the video and the premise of "Best of" is lacking out there. I've used a Crux for years (well...still do) and bought an Eternity to replace it. Honestly, wish I'd seen this before buying it. It's OK at best. (Liked/Sub after this video).
I really loved my Eternity so I'm sad to hear you're not matched up with it. Make sure you try some surface adjustments before you give up on it as sometimes the Reactagloss finish gets a little thick and messes with the reaction. Happy to have you on board as a subscriber!
Are there other balls you would recommend for those of us with High Axis Rotation? I'm measured at 60 degrees, combined with *negative* 5 degrees tilt, but everything goes absolutely sideways for me at the breakpoint, forcing me all the way to 35+ with my feet. (RH and line up with right foot) 2Hander, no thumb. My only real success has been putting short pin layouts to control down lane response, but that feels like a crutch and I can't build an effective tournament arsenal of all short pins. Thanks Ben.
So, first thing is get some tilt. Negative tilt is just so hard to work around that I highly recommend starting there. When you have low tilt, low intermediate diff asym pearls should suit you well. 5” pin to PAP layouts should work on them. .
I gotta ufo alert and a iq emerald and was curious where to go from there, looks like the roto grip is similar to the ufo alert (yes it’s a hybrid) and the iq Ruby is similar to emerald. Is that accurate and if so are those balls better or worse than what you think are the top 5?
Depends on some other factors. Sometimes low diff symmetric solid pieces work well, other times pearls. Having variety in your arsenal is the best solution.
@@bowlersparadise2255 Would you ever roll the Ruby on fresh oil or treat it as a benchmark ball? Or is it really only specifically great when the lanes are dried up a bit?
That’s a great question. I do enjoy that ball as it matches my own game quite well, however, I think these 5 are more universally effective. Xponent is going to excel for rev dominant players, but these 5 should be good for high AND low rev players.
I'm liking what I'm hearing, thanks for the response! I bowled just a handful of games with the xpearl and as a rev dominant 2 hander on light and dry it's magnificent. It's the bottom of the bag and I'm thinking either IQ ruby or IQ Tour to round out the bottom

Always appreciate the kind words my friend.
I am a One Handed No Thumb bowler and appreciate all the feedback and layout information that you continue to provide!
Happy to help my friend!
This comment! Understanding what balls to look at for certain spots in the bag and layouts is huge for me being a one handed no thumb bowler.

Love my Troublemaker Pearl. Drilled mine at 1.5x5”. Works on everything from fresh to dry.
Great ball’
I'm really liking my Track Paragon and Track Tundra Fire.
Yup, I love the IQ Ruby
Great video. You included a lot of useful information about each ball, which is much appreciated.
My pleasure!
Nice one Ben. The Duo is the strong pearl symmertrical piece in my bag... she is situational, but she can string strikes when the time is right.
I really do learn a lot from your videos. You do great work!
Glad to be of service!

Thank you for the tip the last time we spoke. I really appreciate it and can see the difference. Hopefully I'll be adding the Ruby to my arsenal.
Happy to help!
Mannnn you was swinging that IQ Pearl‼‼💪🏾
I love it..
You and me both.
Just met you during league tonight. Thanks for all the great videos and hopefully we can bowl one day together and you can coach me up
Sorry I had to bolt so fast! I'm always down to bowl so just let me know!
Columbia 300 Cuda Pearl is amazing.
I wish I could have gotten my hands on one. I had a feeling it was pretty good.
It's too much over/under
Love my Summit Peak
Love to hear it!
I've been battling for 3 weeks whether to get the IQ tour Ruby or the 900 global Zen. May end uo going ruby after all
Ruby
Is he the actor in Green Lantern?
Does that person have as good of a mustache? Can't say I've ever seen the film.

Radical has some great pearls for sure!

I like the Beyond Infinity! I just like these 8 more lol.
Do you consider the Motiv Jackal Crimson as a quick response pearl asym ball. Thanks.
Do you think a ruby and attention star go well together? Would you put a duo or Xponent above them as a benchmark?
I’d put those two in the same arsenal no doubt. (In fact, I have done that exact thing personally)

Best 5 ball arsenal for 2 hander mostly speed dominant player. Planning to buy a BW 3.0 and a Scorpion low flare. Thanks!!
I’d put a purple hammer, Ethos and violent collision with those 3.

Terrific video as always.
Thank you Daryl!
Wondering drilling 12.5 mph stroker 70 would you do 5x5x2 or pin under for each ball the roto or the ruby
Which option on the list would you recommend on a fresh house shot?
Of these 5, the troublemaker pearl is best on the fresh.

Do you think the Attention Star (being your favorite ball on the market right now) is better than the !Q ruby?
No. The Ruby might be the GOAT honestly. That's a tall order to fill.
I really enjoy the Attention Star personally, but "better" is a strong word.
@@bowlersparadise2255 Would you ever roll the Ruby on fresh oil or treat it as a benchmark ball? Or is it really only specifically great when the lanes are dried up a bit?

Spring doesn’t begin until March 19!
By then the Hyper Venom will have come out and maybe would have made this list :-)
Once it’s 60* in Wisconsin, it’s spring 🤣🤣
ALSO the hyper venom is gonna be awesome.
Attention Star vs. RSTX2 thoughts?
Attention star is more aggressive in the midlane and off the spot, but there's no way I could justify carrying both. They're too similar.

Not sorry lol.
TenPinLife!!

Too situational to my eye. Gonna be great when it’s on, but pretty bad when it’s off. These 5 are more universally effective.
