That’s wonderful and absolutely true 😁! We were very lucky and everyone we met that day was amazing! Ari is such a nice area. Thank you so much for the acknowledgement and kind words 😃❤️🫰🙏!
That dish is called Kao Soi. It’s from Northern Thailand. It’s a combination of Chinese noodle and Burmese style curry obviously from location of its origin in the north of Thailand like Chiang Mai. Unlike Isaan food like Som Tum or royal bangkok cuisines like Tom kha kai, Tom yum kung etc which got passed along down the generations boosting its international recognition, Northern Thai cuisines are hard to replicate due to its unique ingredients and mostly due to the lower number of people from the north of Thailand abroad. (most of Thai people abroad are from northeastern and middle part of thailand)
I like your style, it's fun to watch! Love your curiosity so that I can explore more local areas together with you even I'm Thai. I' ve never been to this location before.
You’re so sweet! Thank you so much for your kind words 😃❤️🫰🙏🥹🥹! We appreciate the love and support you show us by watching our videos. We love Thailand ❤️❤️🫰🫰!

Awwwww you came to my office building ! 🎉 I hope you did have a great time in Ari. The food court with a very reasonable price is like EXIM bank canteen so the food is cheap comparing to other places. ❤.
Really!? Are you in the video 😁!? We had a great time! You work in such a beautiful building. The Food Court was amazing! Ari really felt like home for us. We really enjoyed it 😃❤️🫰🙏.
Your little eating trip in Ari is enjoyable 😀. Bkk has a lot of community malls along main streets. Most restaurants and food shops do not have afternoon break because we have a habit of eating all day haha 😂. To make Khao Soi more flavorful, you can put lime juice, challot, and pickles in it. If you are a big fan of green tea, you may want to try Peace Oriental Tea House at G Tower.
Thanks Bro 😎 ! 😂😂😂 I must be part Thai cuz I can eat almost all day too. Yeah, Caroline added them and did say it was better with the add ons. Thank you for the recommendation 😃❤️🫰🙏. Gonna have to add that to the list 😁.
Very True! A lot of affordable places. It’s still very shocking. Maybe because we’re still new but it still amazes us finding these little hidden gems 😃❤️🫰🙏!
If you miss American style diner, you should check out Mickey's Diner BKK in Gaysorn Amarin Tower :) And for authentic Thai cuisine specializing in Southern and Northern Thai food, try Thai Niyom. Try their Khao Soi, I think it's tastier and richer than the one you tried. I really like your journey in Thailand. Love to see my country from your perspective. And love how you are so open-minded and embracing everything Thai here. Enjoy your stay!
Omg!!! Thank you so much for the recommendation 🫰🫰🫰❤️❤️❤️! Definitely gonna have to check them out. We love recommendations 😃❤️🫰🙏! You’re so sweet! At Ong tong, my fav is Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao (Rice Vermicelli with Northern Thai Curry Sauce) & pu-ong 🦀 (It is made by collecting the "fat" of rice paddy crabs and grilling this inside the crab shell) If u have chance, don’t forget to try them. So good :)))
36:40 it is "Look Choop" mung bean paste shaped, painted and dipped in gelatine, normally shaped into mini fruits. 37:15 it is called Kanom Chun (chun means layers), a mixture of tapioca, arrowroot and rice flour. Try peeling each layer and eat.😁 Enjoy!
very enjoyed the video exploring Ari neighborhood Hopefully, I can see one day you two in a Premium buffet like the Copper Beyond buffet Thank you guys 🙏 Yummm
I think the crunchy thing at the last dessert shop is a water chestnut or chinese chestnut, normally they used it in "Ta-koh", the sweet that you had mixed with taro sometimes. Actually butterfly pea has no favor or smell it just pure color, which is blue and turn pruple when mixing with any acid/citric acid/ citrus fruit or sour-tasted liquid.
You can find food in Bangkok 24/7. We just love eating whenever we feel like. There are some place that are nighttime food specialist and some place that open super early and close a few hours into the afternoon. It's part of the Bangkok charm.
Seriously! It’s FOOD HEAVEN 🤤🤤🤤! Absolutely! That’s understandable to have specific hours of operation. We did notice that even if somewhere else is closed, there are just as good if not better locations serving similar food/desserts/drinks. Such a great convenience 😃❤️🫰🙏!
34:56 Anthony said “gin tee nee” (eat here)… the cashier replied “tarn tee nee” (eat here).. “gin” is common way to say eat but “tarn” is a very polite way to say it (words use in different social classes). Thai workers in the food service industries are very polite by nature. That’s why you’ll always hear “krup” or “ka” at the end of every sentences they speak. You rarely hear them say “gin”, even at the cheapest food stalls on sidewalks. Pay attention next time you guys interact with them. You’ll see what I’m talking about. 😉 Great video btw. It’s definitely fun watching you guys eat your way through Krung Thep krup. 👍🏾
Ahh got it! Darn Google 😁. First time we heard “Kin Tee Nee was at On Nut when we tried Local Thai Food for the First Time and we confirmed on Google too so we thought it was correct. Thanks for clarifying it 😃❤️🫰🙏! A lot of times, we can say some words but we don’t really understand when they respond 😅😅😅.
It isn’t wrong to say “kin” tee née but it’s much more polite to say “tarn” than “kin”… that’s why the cashier in the video replied to you by using the word “tarn”… but of course, you wouldn’t know what she said if you didn’t know that “tarn” meant “eat” also.. not your fault krup. @ChovyTravel
The blue pudding was layer custard or "kanom shun" : shun means layer. It is made by mixing coconut milk with rice flour, color from various things, green from pandan, blue from butterfly pea. Then pour the mixture in the pan or dish just a few milli-meter thick and steam. Once it is well steamed we pour another layer which mix a bit more color over and resteam it. Repeat this step again and again with more darker color.
Wow! Sounds like a lot of labor was put into that specific dish. Honestly, I feel like everything in general consisted of a lot of manual labor. Thank you for sharing the steps to making that special dish 😃❤️🫰🙏!

I am surprised you go Ari. It is only well-known for local people working around there. One of the biggest communication companies called AIS located there ❤😂😮😮😮
I actually never explored the Ari area at all when I lived and worked in Bangkok (around Ratchaprasong intersection) years ago seems like there are so many interesting things to see from your video or maybe they just have so many new places and developments 😊
I don’t know how it was back then but it looks like it’s a very hip and trendy place to be amongst Thai people. Seen some Korean/Chinese Foreigners too. Definitely recommend it when you come this summer 😃❤️🫰🙏!
We live in Oregon and we have mostly trees, mountains and all nature everywhere around here. My husband and my kids are always amazed how Bangkok has lots of interesting things to see and do 😊 they told me that we have only couple months and we will be there soon ❤
Work environment in Thailand is definitely much more casual, to the point that most foreigners that have experienced our work culture will either think that it's so comfortable or that Thai people are lazy, especially those from East Asian countries like South Korea, China and Japan will most likely thinks the latter, because the contrast is super apparent. Some people take their pillow along with them to their work, just to nap on their table in their break, some place the ac is so cold they bring their whole blanket with them.
That’s wonderful! I think working in a comfortable work environment is great! Honestly, that’s very similar to some US work environment as well! Very comfortable that’s why we felt that it was great they’re like that in Thailand too 😃❤️🫰🙏! We thought that was smart.
