  • This Turmeric Ombre Soap is all about simplicity. It has skin-loving ingredients like cocoa butter, turmeric shea butter, and sunflower oil. The ombre design is made by layering various shades of turmeric powder. For a pop of color, the soap is topped with cornflower petals on one half and safflower petals on the other.
The bars are unscented, which makes this recipe perfect for those with sensitive skin. Feel free to add a fragrance or essential oil if you’d like - find out how much to use with the Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator.
    Bramble Berry Fragrance Calculator: www.brambleberry.com/Pages/Fr...
    Turmeric Ombre Soap Project: www.brambleberry.com/in-the-s...
To help the turmeric pop, we recommend forcing gel phase. Soaping a little bit warmer (120-130°F) and placing the soap on a heating pad should do the trick.
    Turmeric Ombre Cold Process Recipe:
5 Pound Wood Mold with Sliding Bottom
Silicone Liner for 5 Pound Wood Mold
    1.6 oz. Castor Oil (3%)
    2.2 oz. Cocoa Butter (4%)
    16.2 oz. Coconut Oil (30%)
    7 oz. Olive Oil (13%)
    13.5 oz. Palm Oil (25%)
    10.8 oz. Sunflower Oil (20%)
2.7 oz. Turmeric Shea Butter (5%)
    7.7 oz. Sodium Hydroxide Lye
16 oz. Distilled Water (10% water discount)
    Turmeric Powder
    Cornflower Petals and/or Safflower Petals

If I wanted to add ginger essential oil how much do I use?

We suggest anywhere from 3-5% Ginger EO to have a strong scent in CP soap.

Gorgeous soap... but she uses a soap with opposite botanicals on top than what she actually placed. From our view, Blue was on her right, red on her left... at unmolding, they are reversed. I wonder how many loaves of soap were made for this video?? With that being said... GORGEOUS SOAP, and I will be using this technique to create my own turmeric ombre soap.

We spritzed the soap with 99% isopropyl alcohol to help prevent soda ash.

I have been making soap for a few years and recently have been having troubles getting a smooth trace. It gets all clumpy and thick very fast before I even put in the essential oils in why is this? I have a business and have messed up a few batches they just don't look good! What do I do!?

If you recently got a new blender it could be that it mixes up faster than your old one. Otherwise you might want to look at how new your lye is!

Does anyone know why she sprays alcohol ontop of it??
    And what is gel phase???

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  4 роки тому +1

It can help prevent soda ash. Gel phase is when the soap gets warm and "gels" in the middle. It helps make your colors darker.
