I’m in the market for a freeze dryer. I really appreciate your showing each of your units in operation. This video was very interesting. In my research I am asking owners (usually vendors at the farmers markets) what their experience has been for servicing their units. Outs side of the US there aren’t a lot of service technicians so owners have to do repairs themselves in conjunction with the companies help desk. If you’re not technically savvy this can be an issue. To ship the unit back to the manufacturer for repair is cost prohibitive. I saw your video where you expressed concerns with machines being shut off because of a power outage and not knowing where in the cycle this occurred. You were able to get that manufacturer to update the program with a solution. Coming from a food industry background I really appreciate these food safety measures. In my 40 years of experience back in the day alarm systems weren’t available and when equipment failed the food had to be discarded because we didn’t know how long it was out of the safety zone. I’d like to hear your feedback on your three manufacturers when you have had time to compare them. Pros and cons. I’ve watched a service technician pick apart ease of servicing a couple of brands - that was interesting. What made you choose these current three brands? I know of at least one more brand if not more - the cube. What’s your process to select your machines.
I definitely would like to see the other... more caremelly... way!!! This whole process was super fascinating!!! I love love love your more unique, "How to make [unique product]" videos.
Good day! Great video!! Freeze dried honey powder can be used for so many things... bath & body products, foods, etc. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you for posting ~ I concur with most of your comments received and would love to see the "other" way to process the honey for a more caramel-y taste. Fabulous content!!!
This is awesome, I think one of the main reasons you did this, is because you can’t make honey powder lol, so you figured it out your way, such a mad scientist. Great video. 👍🏽
thanks for doing this. didn't know you had picked up a Blue Alpine. I haven't been able to freeze dry unsweetened cranberry juice. I even had them (Corey at Blue Alpine) try for me. Still no success. My own ratio was 1 cup cranberry juice to 3 cups water=failed. I really want to be able to make cranberry juice powder as a supplement, but it comes out as a waxy, sticky mess.
Very interesting! Didn't know that would be even possible. Eric, I am DYING to get that Gyro recipe you mentioned a year or more ago. Is that still in development?
So, technically you are making an emulsion of diluted honey. Smart. I love your channel. Do you prefer HR or BA freeze dryer? I can see BA it gives the user more options. Thus, being able to control mTorr.
100% BA. The machine is better built with more user control. Easy for the beginner and advanced user. The large that BA has is closer to the XL that HR has. Oh and their customer service is on point!!
@@2guysandacoolerand don’t forget that it uses standard trays and fittings so you don’t need the specialized sheet trays and liners like HR freeze dryers

I would love to see the other way to do powdered "caramelize" honey powder. It will do wonders over freeze dry bananas. Make it a banana foster!
This was absolutely amazing. Would love to see the other version as well.
I am SO excited to see this!!!!!😊
History being made here!💥

Every so often in a video you mention something about your business. Just curious, do you also have a restaurant or other type of food business?
🐝 Would love to see the other version of your honey powder! ❤

I wonder if this could work as a substitute to granilated sugar?
Can you use it to make cotton candy?
Yes

@jjsager1 Exactly. So much to like about the BA
I like this. Wonder if you can do this with real maple syrup. I think maple syrup powder could be useful in making maple flavored sausages.
Yes but you don't need the xanthan gum. You can dilute it at 1:4 and freeze dry to 120f
👍👍👍👍👍
That is if you have a freeze dryer. What about an actual drier?
I mean how many has a freeze drier at home?
