    Now *this* is my kinda pron. Thanks for this, man! Couple of things.... nicotine is the addictive drug in the tobacco. What stains is the tar from the rice paper. Those are tar stains. Pro Tip: Alka-Seltzer (denture fizzing cleaning tablets) in the soak bowl. I've been using this trick for knobs, key caps, etc for decades. Bonus is everything smells minty fresh, afterwards. :D But, seriously.. those bubbles will do much of the work for ya.

    Great video. There is one way to test the buttons that would be faster. If you press and hold shift and f1 it will open the button test screen. I learned that near the end of my restoration of my 1000 on my channel. I wish my 5000 had that function but the restoration on these units is not to bad at all. Like you stated the parts cost can be difficult if it’s coming from overseas. Great video again I’ll eventually add a 2500 to the collection.

      @@PetrolMediaInc thanks for the tip! Yeah I wish you could put jjos on the 5000 not that the Akai os is bad, just would be nice to have that workflow on there.

      @@nervouscooksagreed. I really want JJOS on my 5000 but they won’t release the OS file even if you ask. I did some comparisons and found that the 2.0 os on the 5000 is surprisingly close to the MPC 1.0 soften the live and other machines. I think that’s why they won’t release it for modding. It would give you access to nearly all their software. It’s just a theory though.

    Love it! And super good 3D prints! I've never been able to print small things in my Ender 3 V2 😅 Only MPC i have is a 1000. I'd love to have 2500 one day 😊

      Thanks! They were fiddly to print or at least remove the supports but they turned out ok. To be fair the 2500 is nice but not a huge amount of difference between the 1000 other than the slightly bigger pads and overall size. I love my 1000. Good to collect them all though 😂👍

      @nervouscooks Yeah, was reading up on the 2500 at some point :) guess it would be a better thing to safe up for the xl screen for my 1000 :) I'll have to try printing some og those buttons 😁 Do you have the stl?

    nice, well done, but for future reference ;there is a "test" button and pad function in the os ( can't remember where exactly) where it mapps out them all on screen and you got a feed back info when clicking them, like they become greyed out.

    2500 is my first MPC, paid for jjosxl too. Nothing amazing to add but cool to see one again. Though I do like the form factor of the 1000

      @@Monsterism yeah I love my 1000 and it is a lot more compact. It feels almost portable next to the 2500. 😂

    The pads came up great, my only suggestion is there are channels dedicated to restoring old yellowed gaming Consoles and the like on here, I've seen methods where they leave the yellowed shells in some kinda Formula with a DIY blacklight overnight, completely removes the Yellowing, an incredible difference! Can't remember the name of any of the Channels unfortunately but a quick search for like "Old Nintendo restoration" or something should get ya there!
    That said, I don't know how much your budget extends to the chemicals and how handy you'd get a UV/Blacklight haha, and also if that method would work with Rubber or if the chemicals could potentially degrade it, but if that last little bit bothers you, definitely worth looking into!

    • @nervouscooks
      @nervouscooks  2 дні тому +1

      I’ve seen that trick. You need to use hydrogen peroxide. It works well on plastic and might work on rubber too but it might eat the pads. I can live with them for now. Thanks for the head up though 👍🙂

      @@nervouscooks That was it yeah! And yeah definitely, probably not worth the risk just because of how hood they turned out, like you said with the cover back on you really wouldn't notice, the whole thing came up brilliant, great job dude!

    Content is dope. Format is progressive!! Tattoos are lovely mandalas! However, you are going to need the lavender nitrile yawns if you are going to be getting grimy.

    Nice of him to include his DNA around the transport buttons. Even DNA from a person that didn't get on with an MPC probably still has value and usages. 😁

    You need foam under everything every trigger and the faster way to get it is ear plugs under everything in between

    Did you try peroxide and a black light for the pads? I feel like this is what an MPC from Marco Polo would look like. 😂

    I guess if he sold it with known faults, then yes, I wouldn't "test it in situ". Other than that, I have _always_ tested in situ when it's already been paid for and it's collection only! I mean, what? That's your last chance. Otherwise they can blame another fault you find on you after you've collected it. 😉

    • @nervouscooks
      @nervouscooks  2 дні тому +1

      Yeah definitely not recommended but we had quite a few long conversations about it and everything he pointed out was true. It is always a risk to do that though.
