I was always a fan of Unguarded Moment (early on.) Not much else caught me. I did however love a Jules Shear acoustic album (The Third Party) that featured just Shear singing and Marty Wilson-Piper playing acoustic. Wilson-Piper perfectly backs Shear’s dylanesque vocals, and the unusual combination of the two coming together (recorded in Sweden of all places) makes for great listening.
Through many a dark hour, I been thinkin' about this: that Jesus Christ was betrayed by a kiss. The car-driving chugging rhythm reminded me of State Trooper by The Boss. The blue light was my blues, and the red light was my mind.
My favourite later Church track. Not sure who does backing vocals in the studio but on the live versions I have seen Tim Powles does it.
Lovely song! I’ve got all their stuff and they are always interesting!

Good track, I don't know much from them apart from the obvious, but this was enjoyable, cheers all.
