I asked an interviewer the question about why they won’t hire me yesterday (although I was nervous to ask) and I used her response to further highlight my suitability for the role. I received an email two hours later inviting me for the second interview. Thank you so much for this video.
That's great to hear. Congratulations!
Just a follow-up on this, how to tackle that on the spot if the interviewer says "you do not have enough sales experience or we are looking for someone with more B2B sales"? Btw love the tip. Thank you
I wish I had known this in the past hah. Awesome.
@@dakshasharma3954 maybe talk about your motivation for the job opening and that you are a fast learner when you find something you have a passion for.
Mate the exact same thing happened to me. I asked them “is there any reason why I wouldn’t be hired for this role?” The company told me they have 20 other interviews today and they might pick the one with the most sales experience instead of my. I then emailed and sent a LinkedIn message to my interviewer highlighting my 30-60-90 day plan if they hired me. They called me and asked for a second interview for the next day as the interviewer “might give you a second interview “. The next day they called me before my 2nd interview highlighting that it’s not actually an interview but more so a run through of what a day working is like so that I won’t be surprised “if they offer me the role” and a personality style quiz to see which department they would like to put me in. 🤣
Sales plan:
1. Learn products & target customers
2. Generate list of communication campaign
3. Refining (e.g. improving process through KPIs: increase conversion rate, time to call, ...)
Patrick, I was laid off in March and have literally interviewed a 100 times and felt loss. This video has given me hope and the right tools/language to tackle my next interview. Thank you so much!
Join the club! I'm getting interviews week in and week out but never the offer. I did get to the final round with two separate companies last week so I am closing in.
Same
You got it party wrong. "Tell me about yourself" is ALWAYS about how you can show you're the best for the job, that incudes real examples of what you've done. It's good touch to differentiate by telling your values.
That's the best question you can get and one that you can actually prepare in advance, as your elevator pitch.
I watched all your videos about Sales Interviews and they were so beneficial. I followed all your recommendations and got the job I had been looking for for the last 4 years. I am really thankful to Patrick and recommend your channel to everyone. Thanks, Patrick!! There is a lot to learn from you, and thanks for sharing your experience.
I was working as a SDR but after listening your video , the interview I was not expecting that I would be able to clear, I did clear for Account executive position, thanks to you Patrick.
I wish you get great successes ahead because you deserve it.
Cheers!
Awsome! I'm gonna have an interview tomorrow so it would be great fit if I ask there questions
Hi Patrick, thank you so much. I learned the interview tips from this video especially the last question to ask the interviewer, I asked are there any reasons that I wont be hired. Both CEO and Sales Director were very surprised about my question and laughed, even though they answered that my zero sales experience might be an obstacle, they both would love to see me soon. I got my offer within 1 week for Business Development role, and started learning all your fantastic videos since 2023. Appreciate your efforts and wich you a very successful year!
Can you please share more about marketing and digital marketing interviews
I have a big interview coming up on Monday that may change my life. Thank you for this. I’ll be playing on repeat for the next 48 hours.

Some added tips for you from this interview, slow down your speaking (you were speaking a bit too quickly) remove the word whiskers such as “you know” (pause and breathe)
The way words are generated and spoken by you, it’s like poetry 🎉 thank you for this
Just got out of the interview and received the job on spot! Great content very helpful

Hey Patrick, Thanks for sharing this very useful. Could you also help us how to handle when interviewers ask about metrics, kpi
Hey Patrick. Fantastic material. I've been watching for about 9 months. May I ask if your first role out of college in Software Sales was was as an SDR/BDR or as an AE? Is it unusual for someone starting a career in Software Sales to pivot directly to an AE role rather than a SDR role?
very good video.
Hey Patrick, thanks for this video. Based on your experience, what common apps and tech softwares do you recommend an aspiring sales rep candidate need to be proficient with to be susseful on a job interview and sales career? Shoud it be a profound knowledge of Excel, Access, Hubspot etc?
Salesforce is the number 1

Hey Patrick. Could you give an example of what you would say to handle objections if the interviewer says you don't have enough experience / there are other candidates who have the relevant experience
Sure I’ll make a short video on that in the future
Patrick, can you tell me more about what I might say about "I believe in inspiring others?" I feel the same way but I am having a hard time putting it into words.

During ur pre screening interview ask
What does your guys product solve
What are your clients common pain points
Use that down the road if they try n make u sell
Account executive for Verizon interview on Wednesday, feel pretty confident but can always be better.
Impressive! Good luck on your interview Anthony!
Good luck
Is there any way to convert this in to a full length podcast on Spotify? I’ll def have this on repeat while commuting to work
Thanks Patrick
How would you deal with the objection that there are 3 other candidates more experienced than you?
Let’s go! Iam a fresh 18 year old high school grad looking to work in sales thanks for the video!! Also any tips where to go to if it helps I live in Northern Cali in the valley
Learn how to communicate value and be an amazing storyteller that draws on people’s emotions.
Omg! This is a bomb
Why should we hire you? What would be a good answer for that? Can you make a video about it?
Should you go for the close in the first interview?
Hi Patrick, in my CV should I include my preferences? e.g that I would prefer to work at home
I wouldn’t include that you prefer to WFH unless you have an unreal amount of credibility and leverage behind your name. That may come off as seeming entitled.
If your preferences are big names or worked at big tech companies. Include them in your cover letter.
Has anyone tried asking the closing questions for getting the position at the end of the final interview? Did it work for them? I see how this could come across in a great way for a sales role but at the same time leadership teams understandably meet and discuss before extending an offer especially when you've met with different people throughout the interview process. I'm worried this might make you come across as rude/ignorant of the hiring processes, and would love to know if other people have actually tried it.
Wow like wow new subie Patrick
Just curious as to why you left your Account Executive role at Oracle?
LOLLL I think it's so funny and great how you own the interview like a sales call.
"Are you ready to extend the offer today?"
"Uhhh... no."
"Why not?"
