His voice compliments Laura's so fuckin well, he could easily do lead to if he wants to. And I love how he does the highs and she does the lows, it makes it way more interesting than a lot of bands dynamic.
He always hits that note in TA live. Not sure why. It drives me bonkers. Can’t find a single time where he doesn’t go for that note. It seems like a choice he’s making on purpose. It matches up eventually but is flat at the start. Screw it if Tom wants that note , he gets it
I get that they had legal rules for this house show but if I saw Against Me! play a house show I'd be going fucking nuts. Also Laura's Nash jazzmaster is fucking gorgeous.
I'm currently reading Laura Jane's book. I didn't realize how much bullshit she had to go through in the early days of the band, with so many poseurs calling her and her band "sellouts." Bands are allowed to change. True fans of the band never would have called them "sellouts." They would have changed and matured along with them.
there was actually one interview where she mentioned that an ex fan slashed their tires when they were playing a show and treated to throw a brick at them it was fucking brutal.
i thought jay was a good fit for the band until he revealed himself to be a total shitbag. i met him at an AM! gig in philly years back and he was totally up his own ass.

Punk Rock 4 life. Love Against Me! So happy Laura Jane is able to be her authentic self and keep rocking out for us fans. Just be decent to each other, we’re all human beings and we’re all suffering in our own ways. 🤘
Still one of the greatest, most energetic live gigs on UA-cam. Coming back to this concert every so often. Against Me! is one hell of a punk rock band!
brings back memories to the first time I saw against me! at a small house show in Tacoma, WA in 2003. ahh, so good. and they are still just as amazing!
Here I am, sitting in Denton for the 10th year and about to move across the country. 5 am falling in love with Against Me! and Laura busts out that Mountain Goats track. Something wild in the air right now....
I didn't realize this until Laura said it but once I figured out I was Non-Binary & Trans I was able to start focusing more of my energy on creativity and building things. Having to hide part of who you are really does consume a lot of time and effort.
Tom was good friends of my sister in high-school. He actually used to come play at my open mic night and alway broke my strings. I'm proud to have had him/ her break my strings. Naples Florida strong 💪
love these House of Strombo shows. Thanks George. Makes me want to invite my favorite bands over after the pandemic. think my basement bigger than this one. Against Me! rocks. There Atlantic City Beer Fest show moved to August. Hoping it happens
This show is fucking beautiful. And I'd be amiss to not not give kudos to whomever decided to release the video in blank and white. It gives such a touching aspect to the importance of the music. 🙏❤️
Awesome work Against Me! keep up the good work, takes me back to Hobart less than a month ago where I was lucky enough to meet Laura and James both amazing people and awesomely nice, thanks for the memories!
Wow, awesome show by an awesome band. I'd have liked to see some different songs (I have a soft spot for New Wave) here and there but overall: 8.5/10. Great stuff, thanks George and AM!
During the first couple songs I was getting kinda pissed at the people who weren't singing along... but then some of those people were singing along to the newer songs and I calmed down. Yes, I know that my attitude was selfish, but this is one of the bands of this size/popularity that I still feel very attached and selfish about. "My little secret..." Haha (laughing at myself).
Monster drivin´ drums from Atom. Fantastic. Drum God.
This bands sound makes me so happy. Makes me want to drink beer and hug strangers
YES! Exactly!
I would hug you at a punkrock show while drinking beer =D cheers
Same here man makes me want to sing oh wait I do on my channel , I love this band .
Lol definitely me during FestFl in Gainesville when they played the whole weekend.
Yep!
"To me DIY means do it together, do it with your friends"
Amen!! Punk's not dead!!
James Bowman · Best backing vocals in the scene ·
His voice compliments Laura's so fuckin well, he could easily do lead to if he wants to. And I love how he does the highs and she does the lows, it makes it way more interesting than a lot of bands dynamic.
Except on I’m a teenage anarchist. They aren’t harmonizing well at all.
@@cvblaylock true, but those harmonies are so fuckin hard to hit so imma give him a pass
Tou...oh...ou....ou...ouuu...oouch!
He always hits that note in TA live. Not sure why. It drives me bonkers. Can’t find a single time where he doesn’t go for that note. It seems like a choice he’s making on purpose. It matches up eventually but is flat at the start. Screw it if Tom wants that note , he gets it
Laura Jane Grace you are my fucking hero. I am so damn grateful for you. on that note, time to watch this 1,000 times!
She's my hero too :) Against Me! has such great fans
yes hes really good
I get that they had legal rules for this house show but if I saw Against Me! play a house show I'd be going fucking nuts. Also Laura's Nash jazzmaster is fucking gorgeous.

Atom was the best decision they could have made for this band.
Yeah agreed - awesome drummer, awesome guy
also Inge. They sound super solid and both of them look super happy to be there
Atom and Inge brought so much to the band!
Don't forget about Inge. Dude can shred.
i thought jay was a good fit for the band until he revealed himself to be a total shitbag. i met him at an AM! gig in philly years back and he was totally up his own ass.
I still come back to this video all the time. Every time I watch it and see Nubs in the crowd, it puts a smile on my face. Great show!
Jesus Christ, how did it take me so many years to find this? Watching this made my eyes tear and my soul bleed.
Nice to see that Dee Dee was able to get a job after he left the Ramones.
TheMachineThatKillsFascists he could only wish lol
That's fucking funny. He does look like him.
Do you mean Dee Dee King
Mini me version.
And stole Lemmy's bass and looking at the ceiling mic placement
This set is so tightly played, it's more energetic and fun than the already great album version. THIS is how live bands should be!!!
Damn you're right
honestly, amazing

CapnMcMuffin I would have lost my shit when they started playing baby I’m an anarchist 😩🙌🏻❤️
"It's punk rock to save your hearing folks" ;)
"do it yourself never meant do it in low, it always meant do it together, do it with your friends"
Finally a non mediocre punk rock band that brings this out
Pabloquero Pizarro i thoight she said do it yourself never meant do it alone, it always meant do it together?
Best version of Walking is Still Honest, right here
Yes. Fuck yes.
Punk Rock 4 life. Love Against Me! So happy Laura Jane is able to be her authentic self and keep rocking out for us fans. Just be decent to each other, we’re all human beings and we’re all suffering in our own ways. 🤘
Damn, that part about feeling pressure to show up "fully formed" is intense.
My intention was to play this in the background while I photoshop... Can't bring myself to minimize, such an awesome band!
Inge's bass line in Rebecca is sooooooooo badass.
Walking is still honest sounds ten times better here than the album version. Those background vocals are rock solid.
I can't tell you how many times I've watched this.
This must be one of the best live performances on youtube. pure energy and great production.
OMG a Mountain Goats cover
Still one of the greatest, most energetic live gigs on UA-cam. Coming back to this concert every so often. Against Me! is one hell of a punk rock band!
Her dance when she says "you've got no hips to shake"
It is punk rock to save your hearing. Nuff said.
WHAT?!?!
Ya gotta speak up, I just turned 49.
Oh yeah, yeah, ear plugs - IMPORTANT!
Love the up close shots of the band & seeing LJG smile! Would have LOVED to have been there!
"it's punk rock to save your hearing, folks"
are you kidding? Lucas?? wtf, just brings him up to play like it's nothing.. my heart just exploded.
My heart melted when strombo hugged Inge
Luara looks so much more comfortable in her skin than angry Tom Gabel.
Incredible performance. Some really lucky people in that room
brings back memories to the first time I saw against me! at a small house show in Tacoma, WA in 2003. ahh, so good. and they are still just as amazing!
I think it's realy cool that AM brought out Lucas. I never would've known about the Cliks or Lucas without this video.
2020 anyone?
What about "this" 2020?
no
2021
2024,even.
I dont remember Tom, all I know is that Laura has always been the front of Against Me, and I've been a fan from day one
Awesome. Only time I’ve seen them was when they opened for Foo Fighters in Montreal. It was St. Patrick’s day. An awesome show.
thanks to my brother josh for turning me on to this wonderful band, love you big josh and of course Against Me!!
Fucking hell. Laura is an absolute inspiration. Thank you all for this.
this has to be the best crowd for a House of Strombo shows. seems to be more fans than usual
Against Me kick major ass. Great set and great stylish camera shots too.
Glad to see their playing Baby I'm an Anarchist again :D best lineup of Against Me! to exist
Here I am, sitting in Denton for the 10th year and about to move across the country. 5 am falling in love with Against Me! and Laura busts out that Mountain Goats track. Something wild in the air right now....
I still get goosebumps at Oceans live
Great cafe racer George, and really appreciate the house party content, great upgrade element to the strombo show.!!
Awesome content man. Thank you! Walking is still honest is STILL such a banger!!
Amazing show. Would've killed to be there. How was the crowd not freaking out?!?!
jtinyman they are pretty much all singing with friends having a good time
They keep having to cut because the chick in the front is texting half the show lol
This is 2020. What are.... Crowds?
The hipsters?
I went from headbanger to trans man this shit rocks thank you Laura
probably the best version of true trans soul rebel i have heard
Did anyone else notice Talia Osborne was in the crowd?! She is also known as "Nubs" from the NOFX song "She's Nubs" soooo awesome!!
Amazing. No other words.
I didn't realize this until Laura said it but once I figured out I was Non-Binary & Trans I was able to start focusing more of my energy on creativity and building things. Having to hide part of who you are really does consume a lot of time and effort.
Wow they sound great!!
12 years ago i decided to get a band tattoo as my first tattoo. i decided on on AM!, never regretted it
Absolutely blew the roof off that place. Such an amazing band 🤟
What a great time do be alive! Thank you House Of Strombo!

love these House of Strombo shows.
Holy shit, this is the greatest live performance of against me I've seen! Aside of seeing their live shows! Kudos to George
Great concert! I have been whole week watching this video. Hope they come to Spain soon
Covering the Mountain Goats! Zomg!

The best ever death metal band out of Denton
The audio and camerawork is fucking perfect!
Awesome work Against Me! keep up the good work, takes me back to Hobart less than a month ago where I was lucky enough to meet Laura and James both amazing people and awesomely nice, thanks for the memories!
damn listening to against me makes me really realize that my band sucks
Nah. Your band just needs to keep playing out and rehearsing
Don't feel bad, very few compare.
No punk rock band sucks, that's the point
Atom Willard !!!!
Oooo to have the House of Strombo back again 💖💖🤘
Inge is such a smol! (Atleast from my perspective)
Wow, awesome show by an awesome band. I'd have liked to see some different songs (I have a soft spot for New Wave) here and there but overall: 8.5/10. Great stuff, thanks George and AM!
I discovered this band tru this video. Great band and honest music. Rock and roll lives!
I looked away during the beginning of the ocean and was very much shocked to hear someone who wasn't Laura LMAO
I keep coming back to this video years later. This is their best opening ever. I cry out of pure joy Everytime
Everything about this is perfect.
Fucking badass! And opening with "Pints of Guinness..."? Epic!!! \m/ >.< \m/
Großartig!!
Like how the bassist almost looks like he does a homage to Lenny with the mic haha
He's playing the same Ric bass as Lemme did
He doesnt look a thing like lemmy tho
🖤🖤 Everything about this band is awesome 👏
one of the best band to see live
Fantastic performance. Watch Strombo really get into it haha.
22:55 turn your phone sideways, George!
Well, this was a great way to kickstart my Thursday.
😍🖤 Didn't knew them, they are amazing!!
Hi, i've just found you through a book called Gender euphoria. Thank the stars my partner bought that book for me. You guys rock!
Fukking adore this band. Great gig. Cheers.
Damn, I had tickets to see them in a small club back in March...fucking 2020, this video has kept me sane all year!
