Correction: In the video I said the champion edition was the same price, but it's actually $10 more than the normal Air65s... but still worth the upgrade!
Love it! My brother and I also spend time together trying to swat each other’s micros out of the air and land in each other’s hands. Great family time!
I love tiny whoops and own a few air 65’s in both race and freestyle. That being said, watching channels like this make me very grateful I don’t live in a highly restricted area when it comes to drones. Nothing would ever replace the feel and experience of a 5” freestyle quad. Having to go to a designated rc air field I drop the hobby in a New York second. Freedom to fly FTW.
Switzerland isn’t that restrictive I fly 5inch quads all the time, I just live in a densely populated area with an airport. But there’s no remote ID requirement, no drone registration requirement and no designated flying areas (only areas like nature reserves, near airports) that have a Sub250g requirement. But because I’m in the city there’s less space to fly, no bandos and way too many people so tinywhoops get a lot more airtime because I can do it across the road or in every park without waiting for people to leave. So freedom to fly is one thing, however here respecting other people’s experience of shared spaces is the cultural norm too
So happy you got one sent to you man! I'm still waiting for mine to come in, I ordered it when they released and also picked up an Air75. I recently got a Radiomaster Boxer Crush as well, it's so much better than the Lite Radio 3! Finally got my Ikon 3 working too, but every time I've been out and flown it I've crashed it doing stupid stuff 😅The latest crash I bent a motor shaft and ripped the video wire off from the camera to the flight controller. Already replaced the motor bell, just need to solder the wire back on and it should be good to crash again 😂
You’ll love it, it has a lot of punch… the air75 is pretty great too! The boxer is a huge upgrade from the lite radio and I have no idea how I ended up with a larger radio but smaller quads 😂😂 I really want to give the ikon3 a go though but sucks that you broke it already! This is probably the best part about tinywhoops is they take so much of a beating
@GarethDix Haha that's true, the bigger the radio the better the skills ... right 😂 I think you should get an Ikon 3, I'd be very interested to hear how it compares to a diy Quadmulla Siren F3. That's probably why it's broken already, I'm not used to crashing bigger quads yet, and tbf I'm still getting used to the power!
@TheWaddler that is the video I wanted to do and then with the O4 on its way I might hold off buying anymore DJI BNF’s as that new lite VTX looks like it could be a gamechanger for Sub250g builds
@@GarethDix I got the meteor75 pro from betafpv, I chose it because I already have air65 and air75 and unexpectedly it was a discovery for me - very cool
I’m no professional, but when outside change the VTX from 25mW to 100 or 400. I’ve noticed a difference when I changed my antennas from LHP to RHP. might. Be worth a try instead of replacing the module.
That’s a good point I always forget to change this when going outside. I usually get the same weird split in the picture at 100mw but I’ll go higher and see what happens, thanks!
@@chrisbee5481 all the UA-camrs got one or at least it seemed that way. Right. I just so happened to get lucky and hit purchase on the champion 2weeks ago. It super fun I hope the restock to you can get one. It’s way better than my other BNF tiny whoops.
@@chrisbee5481I don’t think they realised the demand for something like this especially with RaceGOW happening at the moment too. I got my review unit late (was stuck in customs) and I came close to ordering another to try and make sure I got to try it out. I should try the race edition as well just to have the complete set 😂
@GarethDix wait until betafpv black friday. I just read in their notice, that they will be releasing a new Meteor 75 pro with a new 1S AIO FC called Matrix. I really like my Meteor 75 pro as well.
HD Zero goggles and ImmersionRC rapidFIRE Module Is the best Analog experience. I Fly the 03 on all me Freestyle Quads.. I have 2 of the Air65 and I Ordered this little guy already, for my whoops Rapid-Fire is the Shit !!!
It must be good as it’s always out of stock where I am, I’m finding it hard to justify twice the cost of the SpeedyBee adapter but I’ll do more research. If it gets me a better image then I’m all for it
The image quality on both is the same (plenty of test videos / reviews out there proving so), and the SpeedyBee module is the best deal in town when it comes to price / quality. Some people claim that RapidFire is better for flying in larger groups (such as races, but I can't comment on that as I don't race), otherwise they're neck and neck. Personally I've had zero issues with my SpeedyBee + Foxeer Lollipop 4 stubbies + HDZero setup indoors or outdoors.
I’m typically using the Jumper T15 as my radio but if I’m short on space (when travelling) I still use my Tango2 pro with an ELRS backpack. The goggles are HD Zero with a speedybee analog adapter so I can switch between analog and HDZ with a single set of goggles
@@GarethDix considering every new product sells out instantly or goes straight to pre/backorder, I try not to even think about it. lol. Odd times we are in.
@@originafreerangechickenI got my original air65 as soon as it was announced then had to wait awhile to get a second one as it was out of stock everywhere (although I managed to get the air75 instead which seemed to be available)
Haha… they mess with my tax but I also don’t like to use them on any gear I get sent so there’s no question about whether I’m saying it’s good or not because I’m getting something if someone buys one.
@GarethDix we should actually get paid to review products but then it would be harder to stay honest still the amount of time and effort put in never feel bad taking a couple bucks for a sale. Also never take a couple bucks selling crap. If it's crap don't refer and if it's great go for it. ;) plus you can still be selective with what you review and or just not review anything you don't like. You tell them hey I'm sorry I tested it and these are all the reasons it sucks. Do better! That can be very valuable to a company. I'm honestly impressed with betafpv they sorted a lot of crap out. Now they have the best 1s packs on the market and the airs are great minus the canopies lol. They need a better radio though lol trash. Anyways hope you are well. Come to Toronto some time and we'll have a blast!
@@TorontoFPV I gotta give BetaFPV credit, they have no problem with me being 100% honest and where I was skeptical at first about the quality of their products they've been releasing one great thing after another... also why I've bought so much stuff from them as a result so technically they got their money back on anything they've sent me just on how much I've bought from them since haha. And yeah I love those Lava batteries I have so many of them now, even the lava 1102 motors on the Pavo 20 pro are incredible... I'm hoping they might do a 1604 version at some point
I use the freestyle version for the added flight time and looser feeling when turning (it feels more like a larger quad with the momentum carrying you through the movements). I will try a race version too at some point though
Oh no this screen tearing again i am so sorry for you i hope mine doesnt has this problem. Btw betafpv are grat they recognize that this happens becouae off the FC and sended me a new one that i swapt over and it was fine!!!
Yeah it’s really annoying but I also have this on my other air65 too it’s just not all the time I figured it’s maybe the antenna or my SpeedyBee module but let me know if the new aio fixes it
Originally when they first contacted me a year ago I was thinking I'm not sure if it's worth me testing given how quickly I break stuff. I've honestly been surprised. In the 7 BetaFPV quads I have, aside from constantly breaking the canopies on the air 65 and 75 the electronics have held up really well and I don't baby these quads at all. I killed the UFL connector for the VTX on my first air65 after about 500 packs of learning freestyle but Betafpv have upgraded the canopy since then so it doesn't rest on connector anymore. Everything else has been good so far! I'm sure there are people that have had bad experiences. The 5in1 in this whoop I don't have in any other whoop and I've only put around 200 packs through it so I'd like to see how this holds up vs the 4in1
