    Nice to see more tanks from this place, the oyster aquarium was one of my favourites, because i have never seen anything like it.

    I love how the hardscape can work either as a North American Stream Tank or an Asian Hillstream Tank. I should set-up a tank like this in the future.

    Great video. Nick does a great job with the GEPA tanks. Andrew, Nick and the rest of the GEPA staff really have made this wonderful public aquarium a cool place to see and learn about the aquatic life that lives near us. When things open up, please make a point to visit and support them. There are a lot of interesting tanks and displays, including a very cool touch tank. The Chesapeake Bay watershed has so much diversity and interesting fish that people rarely hear about them. Many of them are as beautiful and/or interesting as many of the tropical fish we see in local fish stores that live right in our backyard.

    I really like this aquarium. The rock work is stunning and love how the plants flow in the current. It's simple scape but still has a lot going on, if that makes sense. It's definitely inspired.

    Honestly didn't think it looked like much at first (I usually prefer more complex and detailed scapes ) but with the backstory, your amazing narration and soothing footage it became way more interesting.

    I had a 33 long native stream tank just like this with only eel grass as well. It was beautiful. The eel grass doesn’t need CO2 at all.

    You might have more fun with a stream tank with warm water species...after awhile natives with no color gets old. White Clouds,Garra's Hillstream loaches..the white clouds will reproduce if given cover and the aquarium is large enough,like 50 gallons or so. More fun to imagine a fast tropical stream...

    I wanted to make a biotope tank of the brandywine creek that ultimately ends up in the chesapeak. Did you say id need permits to use wild live stock that i catch myself??? That hinders things a bit. I love eastern blacknose dace minnows. Always wanted to keep some in a tank.

    Hey Alex, I have watched this video about 5 or 6 times over the last year and I love it. I want to do my own version of this tank with a hillstream biotope. I want to stock it with white cloud minnows, cherry barbs, hillstream loaches, and vallisneria spiralis in a 75g. My main questions are how should I hook up the filter (fluval fx4) for optimal flowrate, and is white sand with river stones good?

    Very pretty! Though I was surprised to hear they were using CO2, for as low demand as val is and without a rich substrate that just sounds like overkill.

    • @TankTested
      @TankTested  4 роки тому +1

      I was surprised as well. I think you could do this without CO2, but you'd probably end up with a little more ragged looking val as a result.

    • @PatrickJTezak
      @PatrickJTezak 4 роки тому +1

      I've always heard how Valisneria is easy to grow but I couldn't keep it alive. I might try a similar escape like this using my Amazon Swords instead.

    • @PatrickJTezak
      @PatrickJTezak 3 роки тому

      @NihlusGreen It's not fair because Val is such a stunning background plant!😄😁. I just depend on my Amazon Swords. Anubius and Java fern grow in my ta k but extremely slowly.

    It's very nicely done..but I would say a 4' 55 gallon would be better minimum with some LFS common stream fish like Danio's and Loaches, the sucker exotics later. Plus a stronger current for fish to do the treadmill thing all day,mid tank and high...but they drop to the bottom and rest at night.
    Oyster tank is perfect for Archer fish and Mono's argentus or better,Sebae. So many brackish water fish these days..
