The king is back
Did you say river aquarium? Yes please I would like one. River setup with nano fish is the best. Cheers MJ
Love your river series! What is your next project?
Would also love to see a natural habitiat for something like those little rover loaches
@@dylanwilliams430 yea or a southeast asian stream biotope with a betta, rasboras, and loaches
@@dylanwilliams430 yea like a Asian river with Kuhli loaches chili rasboras and honey gourami or betta fish maybe black water
Haven’t been watching aquascaping channels cause it’s gardening season but when an MJ video comes out, you watch!
Thanks 😄
Winter is definitely aquascaping season
@@888fluffyis it really? Why so?
@@yahya_176 plants do better when it's colder, less likely to grow algae. Also there's a big crossover with gardeners and aquascapers. You don't need good weather to aquascape but you do to garden.
Leaving the background transparent was a great idea👌💯
A suggestion : after the planting show and tell the difference about how plants grown after 5 weeks like each plant that is planted.
Example i wanted to see how helanthium Tenellum and eriocaulon red will look like after
5 weeks.
Btw im also going to make a aquarium like this 😂 the shaoe is very unique 👌
haven't watched yet but *i already love the thumbnail vs the tank in the first few moments.*
i think sometimes we keep going with tanks that we kind of aren't really liking anymore, not enjoying or things about it don't work. and it's good to see an overhaul to show what is possible. plus the concept of this one is really cool. fast moving river for TINY fish, and that it's a slanted design for the scape.
Nothing beats a good river bed setup, love it!
I LOOOOOVE borneo suckers. Super charismatic little fish! Make sure to keep an eye out around the rim in case any of them decide to get adventurous
I 2nd this. Bornero suckers are very cool. i have a few myself, but I had one that was adventurous and after that I made sure to have a lid
FINALLY!!!
would absolutely love to have a weekly update on this tank ❤
MJ instead of soil you can get at the pond departement of Intratuin lava rock split from Superfish. Great stuff to get hight and for bacteria.
On a side note: despite of what it's called I am not so sure about the role/importance of carbon in the substrate (as Clear Super). I think (and I have been reading about this lately) it serves much more as a source to speed up bacterial growth.
Nice work again, Mark.👍
The scape turned out amazing, love the stocking also. It did hurt my heart a little though when you said you was throwing away all of those plants.
Hey MJ, great video! To enhance plant growth, I like to only put nutrients where the soil layer is thin. Then when you have a thicker layer, like here on the right side, I firstaddthe substrate and add nutrients. Then a final layer of 1-2cm of subtrate before the plants. This way newly planted plants straight away have access to the nutrients and grow much better in the beginning of your setup:)
I'm working on a 33L hillstream scape and this is exactly the inspiration I was looking for!
I really appreciate how your tanks are not over planted like so many other aquascapers! Please keep up the amazing work homie . Can’t wait for the next vid 🔥
Gorgeous tank. When you said river, the picture in my head was more of a river flowing the length of the tank. What it turned out was a bit different. Your flow was what I expected, but the scape was more of a cross section of the river. You gave me some things to think about with my 10 gallon long bookshelf tank. I scaped mine where the flow is along the length, but the actual scape is a section from the middle of a river where rocks have fallen and a long piece of driftwood has caught in the rocks forming an underwater bridge between rocks, and it flows the length of the tank. I used natural colored course sand and the rocks are dragon stone. The fish are a school of Venezuelan Red Sail Cory’s and another school of Chili Rasboras with a clean up crew of Amano shrimp. I planted it with crypt parva and lucens along the rocks, small Buce on the wood, and in the open area at one end I used dwarf sag. The dwarf sag has covered and I have to keep it trimmed. I am hoping the chilis will scatter their eggs in the sag and I will get some babies. My Buce is not doing so good in this tank, but I think it is too much light and too close to the light as I have Buce in other tanks and it is doing good in those other tanks. I have changed up my light, so I hope my Buce recovers. Love the long tanks. They are so fun to scape. Thanks for sharing your long tank and your beautiful scape.
But,I love previous setup😢
Perfect Fish combo and I love the use of all the grasses
Buen trabajo. Ha quedado muy natural y elegante .👍
This turned out great!
Dennerle: exists

😂😂😂
i just love how you maintain a natural set up! Hoping for a shallow planted tank soon! and yes the plant selection is perfect for low light setting.
Man I love your videos, keep up the good work, I am 17 and because of you I have 4 tanks running perfectly thank you.
Beautiful set-up, the loaches were just perfect for the tank
so lovely and tranquil!
That turned out beautiful. One of my favorites from your work!
Beautiful setup as always! 💚
I like how you explain everything and that is also a really nice video. Thank you!
Great setup
Lovely tank, MJ. Well done.
Beautiful tank❤
Love it, it looks great.
Beautiful!
Beautiful aquascape. Love this❤️
Love it, one of my favourites by you since the big shallow
Production of video is amazing, keep it up!
the tank looks amazing!!K
One of your best setups MJ,stunning
Love the video! And the Eriocaulon, such a pretty plant 🌿
Simply beautiful! 😍
Thank you! 😊
Love the look of this tank 🔥
Beautiful! I really like this setup. Great work!
Pretty interesting Size of the Tank. Great for River Style Tanks
Amazing scape ... I was going through MJ withdrawls for a week and was so happy when this vid dropped. I really do love that you did an after setup follow up after a good amount of time.
Beautiful aquascape! I am excited to watch it grow in!
So nice
Fantastic tank!
Appreciated the explanation of all the stuff you added to the substrate :) The tank looks fantastic, great work
You never disappoint
Beautiful. The perfect aquarium to sit beside.
Looks great, as always! Thanks for the content(:
Nice work as usual. Thanks.
Beautiful setup! It really grew in nice
The video is top quality like always! It is fun to watch and I love your style. If you ask me, you could show the endresult and the fish a little bit longer with this chill music. Gratulations to you for this wonderful build and video!
Wow, this turned out very beautiful and "zen". Nicely done 👍😃
Nice! Please keep us updated on how this matures.
GOOD JOB
this has to be one my favorite aquascapes by you!!!!
Excellent video and excellent tank!
Excellent!
Exactly the inspiration I was looking for
Top quality entertainment once again. Cheers 🎉 Love your new studio.
Stunning mate. I have a 90L collecting dust till I figure out what scape to do. I really like this set up. Thanks for the inspiration
hi MJ , love your content. you videos are always very inspiring. hello from Australia, keep up the great work. cheers.
looks very serene and beautiful
careful, those rainbows are jumpers
Beautiful tank Mark 🙂Love your plants selection, rocks..Its really amazing and the tank looks optically much bigger than it is (I mean liters) Love it 😎🙏
my favourite little fish!!! ❤️🥰❤️
Keen as for this one man
Even though I switched to reefing I still enjoy watching your content, you are an artist 🚀 thanks for sharing your journey and skills with the rest of us!
Think the frosted background would be good.Gonna try it.Thanks
Love your videos! Also like how you blurred it in the beginning… but it’s in the video thumbnail 😂
the green machine guy "james findely" is awesome and his works are so amazing. i feel some takashi amano in his works.
Great video!!!
Glad you liked it!
@MJAquascaping I didn't like it. I loved it!!👍
good
Great composition with the rocks and grasslike planting! 👍
I am planning something similar at some point, but with a UNS 90L (so 90x30x30).
Sounds great!
Very natural. Good choice not to use a backing on the tank. I love your work 😎
Watching your videos has really given me the nudge to get back into planted tanks after years of Saltwater. Plants and the constant battles with hair algae really turned me off. Set up a fish rack for nano specied and neos. Definitely appreciated your videos on the diy co2 and decent budget lights.
Great to hear!
nice
I also like Dennerle aquasoil, especially since it comes so cheap at Hornbach, relative to other shops.
Really cool stuff. I bet if it was a bit deeper (from front to back) you'd be able to keep a greater volume of fish with less problems. It's just so little volume for that amount of light and fish. Beautiful design as usual though. Love the channel!
Very nice and different
Bagus sekali ❤
Please use units when measuring TDS, there is difference between PPS and us/cm
I really want to make some nice aquascapes but honestly I'm not good at it (I'm currently reading George farmers book on aquascaping) but basically I got a UNS 3N and a bunch of hard scape and I stared at it and was like how do these people come up with this stuff so I decided to just play around and right now I'm just adjusting things before I buy the plants, but they're definitely not as good as some of your nano scapes 😅
Beautiful setup! Streams setup have always been a favorite of mine! 😍🥰
The different colored tails in the gastromyzon might be different species altogether since differences in sex are usually seen in body shape.
I am a little bit worried about those loaches climbing out however given how high the water level is without lid but otherwise a very nice matured setup for those species~
You mentioned fine tuning the CO2. Could you please elaborate on what you did and how it affects the algea you mentioned? 🙂 Love the look of the tank by the way, great job!
Absolutely breathtaking! I've been wanting to do a scape like this for sooo long. Where did you find those stones?
I bought them from Wio.eco
Beautiful tank, I love it. Keep up the great work. I got into this hobby thanks to all your helpful videos. I'm currently getting the same algy on my plants in my new tank and I'm struggling to get rid of it. Do I increase or decrease my co2. It's a 45p tank with chihiros wrgb 2 light, 75 percent at 6500k running 8 hours a day with 30 min ramp up.
Try to increase the Co2 a bit
@@MJAquascaping Thank you so much, will bump it up and see how it goes.
it's strange I didn't get a notification of this video. I usually do.
❤❤❤
As decedant Amano stated some tricks to make aquascape looking nature as odd number of rocks and sizes to arrange big size in front and small in back , please could you mention it in comming next video .
Thanks
Love this scape MJ...you beat me to it.....just had my first sponsored tank sent to me and I am going for a river aquascape also. ...I will have a much higher flow rate than yours though to try and mirror an actual river.
You added the minerals to bring up the tds.... is that for ppvetter plant growth or more for the fish??
Also beautiful tank mark looks aweesome
Both the plants and the fish actually! More information here www.2hraquarist.com/products/2hr-aquarist-apt-sky
Nice tank. What is under the aquasoil filter bags?
put water lettuce it looks amazing would work great
Any updates on the saltwater nano, did it make it through the move?
Yeah doing good 😌 I might upgrade it soon 😃
Great video as usual! One question though: Why not reuse the plants? That amount would be quite expensive to replace. Thanks!
Because most of them were covered in algae :)
Throwing out all those beautifully growing plants hurt to watchhh. Wish I had enough plants to confidently throw out that much.
What kind off sand do you use the most in your scapes? Any brands? Maybe a link? Love you videos and style Mark, as a beginner i learned a lot from you and im running 4 tanks now😋
I usually go for ADA sands or WIO sands :)
@@MJAquascaping for me its a 10 minutes drive to Azaqua, when the new store is open again i will visit them to check out some sand for my new 160L tank. That corbo root setup off you was very inspiring, hope azaqua has some nice pieces left for me😉
Hey when you suddenly got algae was it becasue the co2 was too high or too low? I recently had a hair algae break out on my s.repens carpet and the co2 levels are the only thing changed.
Co2 was too low :)
