I'm good with how you get good edges but how do you make sure the top stays flat / level? I see some dips and valleys from where the icing was heavier or where is scraped off - how do you get it to be level and smooth? Thank you!
I bought a small hand held vibrating massager from Amazon for just a few dollars, it has a handle and 4 “legs” so to speak to help “shake off chocolate “ on my cake pops by holding the massager in one hand and the cake pop in the other and place the vibrating massager on my forearm and it gently coaxes the chocolate off. I then discovered it works with a bowl of royal icing. I cut out the center of a big car wash sponge to hold the massager upside down (kind of cradled) and place the covered bowl of icing on top and let it vibrate. The bowls I use for my royal icing are anchor hocking glass with lids so the are covered and sturdy.
Hi Pam! Ive been trying this method lately and I really appreciate the extra little tips you gave me! I am sort of a newbie to cookie decorating so I look forward to watching all your older videos!! Came over from the UA-cam Creators group! New Friend :)
Thank you so much! I haven’t baked any cookies or even come close to decorating them, but doing my homework and learning everything before I start, I am also a UA-camr and when I get this down, you will for sure get a shout out from me! Thanks again!❤
Hey Pam. Thanks so much for sharing! You're awesome. I'm hearing from many pro-bakers that they get too many bubbles. Can you help commenting on how to combat this issue?
In the video, I use a dental oscillator. It also matters how thin your icing is. It needs to be thin enough for the bubbles to rise so they can be poped
what about cookies that have lots of little nooks and crannies? Like a small scalloped edge where you can't get your finger in the little nooks to clean up? Any tips?
Thank you for the great tutorial. But what if I don't own a fan or dehydrator? Will my cookies overflood if I leave them to air dry? Or should i give up on this technique at once? 😢 Perhaps i coud use my oven fan?
When you know you finally found the perfect video... Hallelujah! Thank you so much ❤
I absolutely love the way you dip the cookies. I am terrible at doing the borders. Thank you so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!
This was a great tutorial!! Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for all of the tips!
You are so welcome!
Hey Pam! Thanks for sharing

So cool! What temp is the dehydrator on and how dry do they get? I usually leave them out over night to dry before I bag them.
Hey Pam ! Is it a heat fan

Having the right consistency helps. I also flatten my cookies with a fondant smoother

Oh fantastic!
You said you use a dehydrator, can we see a tutorial on how you do that with cookies?
I will look into that. Thank you for the suggestion
Hi, what is your recipe for making this icing??
ua-cam.com/video/fRoq9lqWp_Q/v-deo.htmlsi=9227nfGz0BFuh_yG
So using the dental oscillator, is there any worry of maybe a bowl toppling off of it, or does it not vibrate as much as I'm thinking it does?
Not that crazy move vibration
Hi Pam
How long will it take to dry your cookies completely in the dehydrator?
Thanks
I do not keep them in there until fully dry. It will dry the cookie.
You leave in just to crust and set the icing. About 10-30 mins. Then air dry

Can we put the cookies into oven to dry icing?and if yes, what temperature?please answer. ♥️♥️
Yes you can lowest setting
A lot of what you’re describing isn’t within the screen to view
You need to fully open the video. The tab is on the lower right.
I was so happy with my dipped cookies last night. This morning they are as dull as chalk. Followed the video exACTly. How disappointing ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
They didn't have enough airflow. The faster icing dries, like with a fan or dehydrator, will make it shiny.
Awwwwwwwwwwww dang, well I certainly will next time. Thanks.
Thank you for the tips of smoothing the edges of the cookies.
You are so welcome!
I don’t have a dehydrator. Can/Shoukd I use the oven on lowest setting?
I’m learning SO much from you!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much
You are the best, honestly... your videos are so simple and straightforward... i finally feel like i can do this!!! 😁
You CAN do it!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Best video! Way to be a great instructor! I’m struggling with cookies with scalloped edges.. any tips?
Running a finger around the edge is a game changer
Just tried this today and I'm really loving this method. This video was very helpful. Thank you!

I would be sure to use rolling guides and possibly a fondant smoother after baking
So cool! What temp is the dehydrator on and how dry do they get? I usually leave them out over night to dry before I bag them.
I set mine at 95° only 10 minutes to crust quickly, then dry like normal
I want to try this. Love your video's. I just made your rolled buttercream yesterday. It worked out well! Thank you.😊
Wear is the recipe for the dipping icing?
Thank you for the great tutorial. But what if I don't own a fan or dehydrator? Will my cookies overflood if I leave them to air dry? Or should i give up on this technique at once? 😢 Perhaps i coud use my oven fan?
Just a well ventilated area should be good, just keep an eye on drips
@@pamkennedybakes3649 Thank you! 😊
@pamkennedybakes3649 what temperature is your dehydrator
Great TUTORIAL! What flavor is your cookies? I can see bits in the cookies.
Thank you! I added toffee bits!!!
I was going to say….oooo are those toffee bits!❤
is this recipe good for Diy cookie kits?
Exactly what I use for mine
I made these just like you however, mine are not shiny. I put a fan on them. What to do?
Faster the drying time, greater the shine
Don’t have a denydrater
So sloppy
I don't think so. Have you tried dipping?
Thank you for all the tips.❤
You are so welcome!
This is awesome!
Thank you
I did this last night. Put a fan on it , but they dried terribly dull.. no shine whatever.
To get shine you have to dry quickly. If Just a fan didn't work then a dehydrator.
