Great job as usual, Evy :) Anyway, despite its not a goodbye song in terms of their carreer, it will hit quite differently in retrospect once they actually retire. I'm not looking forward to see that video again on that occation... Btw, really good theory, it totally makes sense to me despite it might be completely wrong, of course :P There is a LOT of references to older R+ videos. The cage that you thought is from Mein Herz Brennt is actually (I think) the cage from Mutter official video. Even the first shots are taken from above in the similar way. Also Till's hair in the cage looks similar (if not the same, I didn't check) as in Seemann video from their first album Herzeleid - so, also a refference to their early work. If you really want a Mein Herz Brennt refference, look on final part of the scenes when they entered the bunker. The close-up on Till's face with the fire behind. Very similar shot was in MHB video. And ofc, there is a lot of other referencess (Richard slowly smoking the cigarette being shot from a specific angle - not sure in which video it was before, etc), definitelly a possible fun time to rewatch several times and look for most of them... :) Anyway back to the theory and to elaborate on it a bit. It is true, that they have matured and evolved over the years and they are doing incredible on-stage shows. They want to perform at certain level and despite the fans still want the old, well-known stuff, band might feel that doing mostly the same is lovering the value of their shows. So they have a ton of new music by now, with a lot of new ideas for on-stage "choreography" (e.g. Puppe and the eye-camera), but that means that some of the older stuff has to go off the playlist. And at some point there are some really iconic songs that have to be left behind to make space for the newer stuff... So ye, this might be exactly the point :)) The end credits - love the recent idea of using "edited" versions of previous songs. This time it was Zeit. Also thats a bit confusing, cos with so many old songs references they added also Zeit and Deutchland (red beam). Maybe to keep it in line with their "new themselves" and connect the whole idea with their recent work too, idk. And maybe is the whole video just a summarization of their whole discography, who knows (but that wouldn't fit the theory :D ). Anyway, to the closing scenes - maybe the whole video was a "dream" or something like that and in reality they simply "died trying". Trying to break free, but the fans have won and they kept the songs in the show-playlist. Or doing some compromise to have a balanced playlist with most of the old bangers, but fair share of new stuff + having certain rotation so the playlist is a little bit different every now and then. Anyway, if the theory is true, it is a good problem to have for Rammstein :)) They are simply too good to the point when it becomes pain in the ass, lol... P.S.: The opening (truck) and the whole robbery-like theme is very similar to Ich Will video. And guess which album is the song from... ;)))
I have to say, your interpretation of the visual meaning to let go of their past (beeing original and continue, without repeating themselves over and over) makes very much sense too. Great catch!
Hallo. With Love from Germany😎🤘
The Mutter album was released in 2001 (22 years ago ===> Mutter 22) The cage appears in te clip of Mein Hertz Brennt (The first Mutter album's track) and also in the video of Mutter song. we can also finds reference to others songs from this album: Feuer Frei (fire at will maybe symbolized by the gunfigth of the openig scene) and the mirror song named Adios. Thanks for your reactions and long live to your channel. Greatings and merry christmas from France.
A couple of parts to this video seem to take inspiration from the movie Immortals with Henry Cavill. The cage in the underground with the giant statues being torn down, and even the part where they were fighting in the sky is the same as how Immortals ends. Just thought it was fun to see, and made me want to rewatch the film.
One important point is the car in the beginning with the "LIFAD" sign ("Liebe ist für alle da") which was the darker album. So it must be about that time frame between these two albums (in total four albums). Plus: Live in Paris is the Live-DVD including exactly tracks until LIFAD. So here we got the French connection: Adieu, Frühling in Paris, Live in Paris,... and so on. Fun fact: "Mutter" has one track called "Adios" ;) The credits seem to show an alternative end. Like they would be dead if they wouldn't have freed themselves.
When you consider that the "Du Hast Live in Paris" is probably their most popular video, I think you're on to something. It also means that setting this video in Paris is definitely no coincidence.
The word adieu is French for goodbye or farewell. Some think that Rammstein was hanging it up and never coming back. But that is not true. They are just taking a break from touring. You are spot on about your interpretation of the video. They are symbolically killing there old selves in preparation for there new selves in the near future.Next year Rammstein will be going on a big European tour, including seven dates in Germany.I've heard the maybe the tickets have been sold out already! In 2024 the band should have some real surprises for there fans. Then they will be celebrating there 30th anniversary!
Perhaps the outro is meant as an alternative ending. The ending we would see, if they don't manage to kill their clones, if they don't manage to break free. Wouldn't that mean death to their creativity, the essence of them and the band. What do you think? You see Flake in front of the bunker door. The laptop is still working on the entrance code. Too late, too slow. The bunker didn't open in time, so they were overwhelmed by the guards who want to preserve the past, who'd rather have clones, forever young, forever the same, than the real persons.
that is what I thought too, that all those ash people are the fans keeping Rammstein in a cage. To never change and keep them in one spot, you can see Till crawling on the floor in the cage with the Seemann haircut. they are the few rare bands, when they tour all we want to hear is their new stuff. seen them in LA 9-23-22 epic as always, 3rd time seeing them
indeed (about mutter). The why, they picked that album in particular because for every single fan knows that Mutter will always be the best album, so i believe they portraid their way to say: "mutter is cool, but hey, we love our current state more than the past".
I see the cage as a Colosseum, the windows immediately looked like the arcades in Colosseum to me. They are kept in there in chains by the zombified crowd ("The Damned" as they are described in the credits).
The band nearly broke up on the making of Mutter, the American tour was broken short due to the inner band fighting, this song depicts the end of that era and the fight. What you see now is a band full of equals and mature musicians. That is my own personal reaction.
@@EvyTheFox I appreciate your content. And by the way, the Adieu video is full of hints and connections to old Rammstein videos. I recognized it when seeing it once more. There are parallels to Sonne, Du Hast, Rosenrot, Mein Herz brennt, Angst, Zeit, Seemann, Mein Teil, Mutter. Maybe even more which I didn't recognize. Wow, so much layers in one video. They are geniuses ❤️
I've stumbled on your reactions and think they are awesome, you are very entertaining, you might consider reacting on Rammstein: Sonne, thanks for the great content
i work for the NHS, didnt think my respect for these guys could get any higher, but theyve brought it to a whole new level with the Covid Nurses....Bravo
I know it's an old video, but never mind. Rammstein's music videos can have many interpretations depending of the viewer. You happened to reach the same conclusions as mine. The security guard they shoot wears an Universal Music badge, so I believe they are storming UM's headquarters. They are prisoners of the past and kept in chains by their fans' expectations. Universal Music even keeps clones of their old selves, so the past can live forever. If they don't destroy them, their creativity will die, just as they end up dead at the end of the video. This is what would have happened if they didn't succeed to enter the vault and get rid of the past. Subscribed!
This song was great it gave me Wolfenstein vibes a little . Rammstein should make a song with Slipknot ! But yeah this video was great I like your setup .
... a propo christianity and other myths that one or the other commentator noted: I see some similarities to scenes from the movie IMMORTALS (dt.: Krieg der Götter) and Greek mythology, e.g. the cave with the prison of the Titans (from 7:50) or the battle in heaven (10:12) - but not clear to me what message these pictures actually have - maybe "the fight goes on" (?).
Back when the album Mutter was released, there were big differences within the band that almost led to the band breaking up. So they destroy their old selves from back then. The credits show an alternate ending. If they hadn't given up their old selves the band might not exist anymore.
I feel like The cage probably represents the Corporate music Side of their Band. But whatever they are saying bye to is most likely the music industry. I feel like they will be making movies…. Lol idk I think I just want to see that happen. Very great reaction and Articulate theory
The assumption that the band is destroying their Mutter-self becomes even clearer if you had seen that the license plate of the bus at the beginning was LI-FAD 6 (their 6th album). So LIFAD-Rammstein destroys Mutter-Rammstein.
Also during the “Mutter era” they went into fights and conflicts inside the band. They were about to split I think during that era. In fact Schneider (drums) and Kruspe (guitar) were ones that had a lot of conflict, and here you can see them hugging and kissing in a very emotional scene inside the Mutter bunker.
Great analysis, Tranks a lot! Jfyi, Parterre is a perfectly valid German word stolen from the French language. Pronounciation ist slightly different of course.
They die in the process of getting in the crypt. Their ghosts are giving adieu to their physical bodies. Their ghost end up in the hell, where the fight until they fight their way out to continue fighting in heaven...
I think it was more of a tying together of their albums and music than saying that they are prisoners to their fans and old songs. Til has his Ich Will mowhawk and the figures in the chambers could just as well be the men in the suits at the end of Deutschland.
I am still struggeling with the conclusion of a lot of these reaction videos. Most stuff is clear but their "clones" in the "mutter" vault where kept alive artificial, for me it looked like they might mean more the time when their label forced them to produce music in a specific style... i remember i read some interviews where the members said that this time feld like hell and the end, as if rammstein was just kept alive artificial. In the same scene the red timeline-beam (we remember that beam from the song deutschland moving through all time stages) goes totally weird directions without any target. This repeats when they are in the cage, the timeline-beam ends at this point and goes untargeted directions through the cave. With the beam vanishing completly at the end this all might mean multiple things. They might simply quit as the beam finally just vanishes. Or they continue but don´t have a real direction - this might be cause the split beams go untargeted everywhere. Or the band splits up into solo projects - same reason as before. Or it simply means that they settle up with the old version of themself and their band for to go into a completly free new direction. I am not sure what the most likely conclusion from all of this together is....
Andreas, thank you so much for sharing your view on this! I hope there will be an official explanation video of some sort that goes over the details in the video or a reaction from the band
It's unclear.. but the first images seem to be of the Porta Nigra in Trier.. so it's German although Trier does not have the skyline to match.. so I think it's computerscience with some recognisable objects..
by song you cant determin the choice of them. They will say when its time not by song :), Plus the intro and outro songs are well fitted to album so its just a build up
Yes you are right. The building they attacked is the Palais Garnier in Paris. tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Garnier I've seen this cocoon burning scene in a movie before, but I don't remember which one (maybe Matrix or older movie).
Rammstein always did their own thing... so I doubt they feel "forced" / "have to free them selfs" or anything like that. It wouldn't be very Rammstein in my eyes. I think it has the more general meaning of "Everything comes to an end. Nothing lasts forever."... like in the first sentence says "Nur der Tod währt alle Zeit" (Only death lasts forever). And those album titles in the video represent the past chapters of their lifes/work... so they of course "killed" their past by getting older - the cycle repeats over and over (that's why there are so many "clones") - till they are gone for good at the end.
I love Rammstein 🤣😂 they make the social justice warriors reeeee on Twitter ! Rammstein is *BASED* hell I wish they do more concerts here in TEXAS 🐂💪💯🤘 !!!

And guess which album is the song from... ;)))
Once again great reaction
Thanks Rob!
I have to say, your interpretation of the visual meaning to let go of their past (beeing original and continue, without repeating themselves over and over) makes very much sense too. Great catch!
Hallo.
With Love from Germany😎🤘
Hallo Eva, vielen dank!
I think you absolutely nailed it in your comment and i do think you are absolutely right!
@@spring_in_paris Alles gut, passiert halt mal.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words!
The cage represents the stage.
The cage is the Rammstein Logo shape
@@llothar68 I know.
You always provide unique perspectives.....thank you.
Thanks John!
Your break down of this video is spot on! But my girlfriend noticed that "die"is in the crosshairs of Adieu, and nobody has picked up on that!
Just thought it was fun to see, and made me want to rewatch the film.
finally a good comment, thank you
I dont know the movie, but ill def try to watch it in the next few days so i can see these inspirations!
great analysis! I'd say you are correct, they are breaking free of the past
Thank you so much for sharing this information!
@@EvyTheFox You're welcome! I am going to start interpretation and translation videos of rammstein soon! ;)
most badass video ever
When you consider that the "Du Hast Live in Paris" is probably their most popular video, I think you're on to something. It also means that setting this video in Paris is definitely no coincidence.
Thats so true! I really wonder if that would be the reason why theyd have chosen Paris
Or maybe they just wanted to use that beautiful building.
There's a section in the post credits at 15:07 that mentions 'The Damned', any idea about who they're referring to?
The word adieu is French for goodbye or farewell. Some think that Rammstein was hanging it up and never coming back. But that is not true. They are just taking a break from touring. You are spot on about your interpretation of the video. They are symbolically killing there old selves in preparation for there new selves in the near future.Next year Rammstein will be going on a big European tour, including seven dates in Germany.I've heard the maybe the tickets have been sold out already! In 2024 the band should have some real surprises for there fans. Then they will be celebrating there 30th anniversary!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Rammsteins stadion dates were sold out in 10min in belgium. Unfortunatly i couldnt get tickets
Great reaction and perfect interpretation / analyses at all...
the credits are an remix of "ZEIT"
Perhaps the outro is meant as an alternative ending. The ending we would see, if they don't manage to kill their clones, if they don't manage to break free. Wouldn't that mean death to their creativity, the essence of them and the band. What do you think?
You see Flake in front of the bunker door. The laptop is still working on the entrance code. Too late, too slow. The bunker didn't open in time, so they were overwhelmed by the guards who want to preserve the past, who'd rather have clones, forever young, forever the same, than the real persons.
The significance of the Roter Faden being severed says it all
Awesome
that is what I thought too, that all those ash people are the fans keeping Rammstein in a cage.
Yeah i believe thats the view on it
I see the cage as a Colosseum, the windows immediately looked like the arcades in Colosseum to me. They are kept in there in chains by the zombified crowd ("The Damned" as they are described in the credits).
Nice view, this is what i love about music and videos, we can all see things different and theres no 1 correct answer
The band nearly broke up on the making of Mutter, the American tour was broken short due to the inner band fighting, this song depicts the end of that era and the fight. What you see now is a band full of equals and mature musicians. That is my own personal reaction.
"the American tour was broken short due to the inner band fighting"
No, thats totally wrong - please watch the documentation Rammstein in Amerika...
Thank you for sharing your view! It wasnt the recent tour, was it?
The red light is a hint to cod zombies mystery box, till got to round 40

Holy Fox...Great analysis as always. And if you allow me to say, your knowledge and analytical ability is kinda sexy as well 😙
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words
Look the registration number on the car. Is LIFAD (One olde Album). Mutter 22 - 22 Jahre von Album Mutter
I missed the licence plate when i watched, but indeed people pointed it out in the comments as well
Good Job, Lady! Didn't saw someone who got it that fast ;)
Thank you so much! Appreciate it
I've stumbled on your reactions and think they are awesome, you are very entertaining, you might consider reacting on Rammstein: Sonne, thanks for the great content
i work for the NHS, didnt think my respect for these guys could get any higher, but theyve brought it to a whole new level with the Covid Nurses....Bravo
The educatedmarine channel has videos with English subtitles.
Thanks, i always use the official video by the band instead of an other youtuber their content
@@EvyTheFox Ok no problem.🤘🤘🤘🖤🖤❤❤.

Flake Lorenz the man with the laptop and the robbering scene remind me the Video from the song ICH WILL (on mutter album too)
brilliant analysis
Thank you so much! Appreciate you watching

... a propo christianity and other myths that one or the other commentator noted: I see some similarities to scenes from the movie IMMORTALS (dt.: Krieg der Götter) and Greek mythology, e.g. the cave with the prison of the Titans (from 7:50) or the battle in heaven (10:12) - but not clear to me what message these pictures actually have - maybe "the fight goes on" (?).
Finally somewhone get the message
Im not sure if this is what they meant or not. I hope there will be an official walkthrough of the clip with all the meanings and references
Back when the album Mutter was released, there were big differences within the band that almost led to the band breaking up. So they destroy their old selves from back then. The credits show an alternate ending. If they hadn't given up their old selves the band might not exist anymore.
@evy
Du hast das Lied auf Anhieb verstanden 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
I feel like The cage probably represents the Corporate music Side of their Band. But whatever they are saying bye to is most likely the music industry. I feel like they will be making movies…. Lol idk I think I just want to see that happen.
Very great reaction and Articulate theory
Haha tbh, after the last few videos, i really hope you are right 😅 would be epic!
Thank you for watching!
@@EvyTheFox your welcome your input and are ideas really are good 👌🏼🙌🏻
The assumption that the band is destroying their Mutter-self becomes even clearer if you had seen that the license plate of the bus at the beginning was LI-FAD 6 (their 6th album). So LIFAD-Rammstein destroys Mutter-Rammstein.
Oh damn i missed the licence plate!
Didn't they mention that this song was created during the covid pandemic and they were dealing with the deaths of loved ones.
Great analysis, Tranks a lot!
Jfyi, Parterre is a perfectly valid German word stolen from the French language. Pronounciation ist slightly different of course.
check out the album cover for "mutter"... connecting the dots :-) thx for super sharp detalis in all your rammstein views.. keep it up 🙂
They die in the process of getting in the crypt.
Def all possible! I love to experience that we all see the clip differently
The City is Frankfurt am Main
I hope there will be an official explanation video of some sort that goes over the details in the video or a reaction from the band
why you think this palace is not germany?
HI I MISS YOU
HI, IM GOING TO TRY TO UPLOAD MORE 🤭
Sorry ive been inactive, work has been alot of travels lately
It's unclear.. but the first images seem to be of the Porta Nigra in Trier.. so it's German although Trier does not have the skyline to match.. so I think it's computerscience with some recognisable objects..
by song you cant determin the choice of them. They will say when its time not by song :), Plus the intro and outro songs are well fitted to album so its just a build up

Yes you are right. The building they attacked is the Palais Garnier in Paris. tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palais_Garnier
I've seen this cocoon burning scene in a movie before, but I don't remember which one (maybe Matrix or older movie).
please reaction a day to remember mr highway's thinking about the end
Thank you so much for sharing your point of view on it! It def makes sense. Thank you for watching
