I like the most the scene where sand flows trhough them. Some are stadning still, some are trying to fight it, some embrace it. And in the end they are kneeling on the sand. Because we are just at the mercy of the time, blindfolded, because we dont know when is our time.

sand is the nastiest thing in the world. blows it into every crevice. It is permanent and very difficult to get rid of. It is the smallest unit of matter visible to the eye. And damn it's one if he hit his shorts. maybe that's why muslims are so aggressive.

I agree with you - Time is the one thing that I am running out of. As yet another one of my organs fails I feel more desperate for more Zeit. I am 52, I've been married to this awesome lady for more than half of my life & I want to grow old with her. Our children are grown up (in their 20's), but I desperately want to see them bloom, prosper & experience the joy of Grandchildren. Gosh, this song pushes all of the emotional buttons, which is perhaps why I like Rammstein so much their music has matured on so many levels. Thanks, Norse a great reaction (I'll stop crying now - sorry all, my bad)

the entities in black cloaks are not Reapers, they are timekeepers ( past, present and future) , and "Zeit" was already teased in "Deutschland ". The red light beams, red lasers and threads are the timeline, the red thread that connects past , present and future throughout the timeline ( and Events ) of History.

The three creepy figures are called time keepers by Rammstein. Doubtless an referring to the Norns. According to the "Völuspa", Norns (Nornir) are three immortal female figures in pre-Christian, old Germanic/Nordic mythology who sit on the banks of the Urd River at the root of the world ash Yagdrasil and spin the threads of fate for gods and humans. (The three sinister figures in the Rammstein video undoubtedly provide an analogy) The names of the three Norns are:
"Urd" (fate / that which has become) She is an old woman who constantly looks back over her shoulder at the time long past.
"Verdandi" (Present / The Being) She has the form of a young woman who is always looking ahead.
"Skuld" (Future/The Becoming) Unlike Urd and Verdandi, Skuld is an unpredictable force that has no love for gods or humans. She wears a veil and holds a book or scroll in each hand. Her gaze is always directed in the opposite direction of Urd's gaze.
The Nornir spin the thread of Fate and life for every human being, and when that thread is severed, the human's life ends. Remnants of this mythology can still be found today in the Germanic/Nordic language area. There is a commonly used saying for a person who is in danger of death. "His life hangs by a thin thread only".

The face of the father first expresses surprise and disbelief, and then turns into horror once he realizes that time has come not to get him, but his daughter... The despair while trying to stop it is so touching.

I was at a Rammstein concert not that long ago, and they didn't disappoint! They also played time, which is one of my favourit songs from that album. And Till (the singer) also interacted with the crowd wonderfull. We sang the chorus part of _please stand still_ and he sang also instead of _everyone knows the perfect moment_ the line _you all know the perfect moment._

The 3 black figures are the 3 norns.
Three women of destiny are named: their names are Urd (fate), Verdandi (that which is to come) and Skuld (guilt; that which should be). Their names are considered to be Norse equivalents of common medieval conceptual concepts of the time in the form of personifications of the past (Urd), present (Verdandi) and future (Skuld).
Even if these three names are young, they seem to go back to an old Germanic idea of a nameless trinity of women of destiny.

According to the Plato and Goethe (Faust) references they are most probably the Moirai or the Parcae and not the Nornes, but that might be like splitting hairs.. And it's not about destiny but rather fate!...Makes a huge difference in terms of the songs meaning.

Another thing that came to my mind about the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it ."Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?

The three black dressed women are the three Nornes. In the old german fore-christian religion they represent the past, the present and the future. The Norne of the past is named Urd (the destiny). The Norne of the present is Verdandi (that what is now and what will be in the next moment). The Norne of the future is Skuld (that what will grow out of the past and the always changing moments). The Nornes spin the rope of life. They decide where the rope begins and where it ends. In Germany we still say „life hangs at a thin rope“ when things are getting dangerous or somebody is really hurt or sick. The Nornes are no gods. They just represent the time of a life. People can‘t influence time and a lot of things that happens. The life of everyone is created by the Nornes what means the time. And we all sitting in the same boat mightless in the sands of time. This is the credo of this song.

Hi! Thank you for an awesome explanation. I thought firstly that it’s not Death but some sort of Avatar of Unbeing. Like they’re are some kind of conductors between Time(some mysterious entity which is behind the scenes (column of running sand))and our lives which are on the surface of “being”. From the beginning to the end(or backwards). Totally accept your point if it even refers to old-German mythology. Thank you once again! Cheers!

This may be an unpopular opinion and is not directly related to this reaction, but I really wish Rammstein and Aurora would collaborate for a song or two. Both are great at telling stories and creating images in our minds with their songs and music videos, and both like to make people think with their deep and meaningful lyrics. Also, the contrast between Till's deep voice and Aurora's angelic voice would be fantastic.

What I'd like to mention is that it is probably their last album and that the band isn't spared by time too, although they would actually like to go on.
Seeing them on the little boat in the rough see is the meaing for their difficulties they had during their career but "they kept paddling" and then figure of time appears and thats the thing which is taking them out.

    Some things should
    Some things shan't(should not)
We see, yet we are blind
    We cast shadows without light
After us, there will be a 'before'
Out of youth, necessity is born already
We keep dying until we live
    (We) die living into(the)death
    We drift towards the end
    No rest, just striving forward
Endlessness is waving at the shore
Captured in the river of time
    Time
    Please stand still, stand still
    Time
This shall go on forever and always
Warm body will be cold soon
    One cannot conjure the future
    Allows for no stay
    Creating and destroying immediately
I lie here in your arms
Oh, could it just be like this forever

This has got to be the most accurate, well put together English translation of this magnificent song I have seen on the internet. Bravo! I wish sites like Genius would carry this one instead of the translation which they have up there, this is so spot on. Thanks for the attempt, and for sharing it with us. I am saving this!

My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

Not really sure where your second comment went, as I did approve it to be posted (UA-cam automatically marks it as "offensive").
I'll go ahead and give you one more reply and entertain you, as you obviously have nothing else productive going on in your miserable life. First of all, no, I didn't vote for Biden. In fact, I don't vote at all because I think all politicians are full of shit and consider politics to be an even bigger waste of time than talking to you. Second, I enjoy music however the fuck I want. If that's me closing my eyes and nodding, yep! That means I'm digging it. Last, thanks for the view and the algorithm boost. I'm sure a troglodyte such as yourself has no idea that any interaction on a channel is a positive one. It does absolutely nothing negative to it. Not even a thumbs down. All that is is simply a guideline for me to see how my content is doing. So, thanks, homie. 🖕🏻

If you look at the lyrics and take out the theme of death, one might think Rammstein makes the last album and that's an adios.

Don't know where in Norway you live and if it's possible -but they added a third day playing in Gothenburg Sweden. Ticket sales start Mar 26, 2022 so you have a possible way to see them live this year.
Compared to Deuchland Zeit hits really hard but in a different way. Really like this song.

Unfortunately, I don't live in Norway. I'm in the States. I'm sure if they do come here, their shows have been toned down. They've been banned in some places here too. Regardless, it would still be fun to even see them here. Thanks for checking it out!

    The three black dressed
women are the three Nornes. In the old german
fore-christian mythology they represent the past,
the present and the future. The Norne of the past is
named Urd (the destiny). The Norne of the present
is Verdandi (that what is now and what will be in the
next moment). The Norne of the future is Skuld
(that what will grow out of the past and the always
changing moments). The Nornes spin the rope of
life. They decide where the rope begins and where it
ends. In Germany we still say „life hangs at a thin
rope" when things are getting dangerous or
somebody is really hurt or sick. The Nornes are no
gods. They just represent the time of a life. People
can't influence time and a lot of things that
happens. The life of everyone is created by the
Nornes what means by the time. And we all sitting in
the same boat mightless in the sands of time. This
is the credo of this song.
