Thrilling fights in today episodes: there was a scene cut off in the anime (manga only), in which Wang Chan (one of Dio's followers, who sold him the poison) attacked Jojo and Zeppeli during their training and then returning to Dio telling him about the hamon. Therefore, because of this Dio knew he had to use his freezing technique to counter hamon. Musical references of the episodes: the baron Zeppeli (whose full name is Wiill Anthonio Zeppeli) is a reference to Led Zeppelin and to Zeppole (which is an Italian pastry, since he has italian origins); that boy Poco is a reference to the homonym American rock band, Bruford is a reference to Bill Bruford (the drummer of Yes, the band that made the ending), Tarkus is a progressive English rock album. Fun fact: in another manga only scene, we've got to know about the "challenge of the 77 rings", which was held for knights in the Windknights town (where they're fighting) in the middle ages and served as a training method. It consisted in beating 77 opponents, each carrying a ring, and it was referenced in one of DARK SOULS sub-quest. The concept of Hamon (which are called also Ripple or Sendo in the localized versions) is based on the concept of Chi and on a morning breathing routine that Araki himself did at the time. Oh yeah the thing that Hamon (the power system) comes from how well you breathe was used as a reference in demon slayer (I didn't see it but I know it has to do with breathing). Can't wait for next episodes!
That makes more sense. I was wondering how he was able to counter it off rip. My boy Araki really loves his music lol! That training sounds crazy, only the top dogs can achieve something like that. It seems like Demon Slayer took some inspo from Jojos with Hamon and zombies relating to demons somewhat.
In 19:49 Speedwagon literally puts zeppeli's arm inside his stomach in the manga, i guess it was too graphic for the anime lol. Loving this reactions btw, perfect way to rewatch jojo.
