I would like to point out with Speedwagon being a british person from the era of the usage of this phrase at 39:59, "He remained single." or "He never married" was a secret form of coding on an obituary that the deceased was a homosexual. I'm not one to speculate but I think it's funny that the translation is so close and the fact that he lived into the second half of the 20th century where that phrase was most used. Also it's implied in multiple different bios given of Speedwagon that he fell in love with Jonathan, often using strictly romantic characters to describe his opinion on him. With all that being said, I can't say it doesn't make sense, I mean he drops everything he does and supports the Joestar family in any way imaginable, whether that's telling of his love for Jonathan or not, that is some form of love and dedication

To put you in context how broken shunsui bankai here: Lille said himself that once he open his eye both his gunshot can penetrate everything and his body gain intangibility. which means he is right to say no weapon that can kill him right now. This is why it is unfair to Lille enemy if he open it all the time, thats how broken Lille X axis. But, shunsui only manage to inflict damage on Lille cuz shunsui bankai can affect even to intangible like Lille. Crazy? Yeah☝

Lilie is OP is af he’s intangible to all attacks and has a gun that can one shot anything and ignores the concept of “dodging” and was the first Quincy to be granted powers by yhwach and the strongest quincy outside jugram, all that and shunsuis bankai still one shot him goes to show you how disgusting his bankai is and to think stark wanted to see it and shunsui almost gave it to him😭also long info dump but lilie is based off a seraphim which is a type of angel that sits next to gods throne and sings praises to it all Quincy’s have holy names for their transformations and are based off angels but the royal guard specifically(except askin)have weird and grotesque forms to represent Biblically accurate angels and all four are stated to represent a aspect of war. Gerard is medival warfare, lilie is modern warfare, pernida is biological warfare and askin is futuristic warfare, shunuis bankai also is a step up from shikai as it brings plays into reality instead of children’s games these plays are typically very dark which represents his personality as he puts on a childlike front(shikai) but deep inside he’s depressed due to losing literally everyone he loves his bankai effects everyone in a massive radius making feel cold and despair, in the manga everyone was terrified of his spiritual pressure including askin and ichigo and everyone stopped fighting his bankai(atleast the version we saw) allows him to share wounds, give incurable diseases, drown his opponent in power draining water and the finale is a one shot kill all these are guaranteed to land as not even lilie could escape it even though he is untouchable to all attacks and weapons

Lille Barro deems himself God’s Holy Messenger. He said himself he is Yhwach’s masterpiece. His form, while it is weird looking, it is meant to resemble a Biblical accurate depiction of an Angel or Seraphim. Once you realize what Kubo is going for then the form actually works and is indeed meant to be “godly” or something divine.. a form we mere mortals are not meant to understand.

Not sure if you have watched Zanpakto rebelion fillser arc, but Shunsuis Zanpakto got her anime debut there, before we've actually seen her in this episode.

Lille's Quincy: Vollständig name is Jilliel (神の裁きジリエル, Jirieru; Japanese for "Judgement of God"; Viz "Divine Judgement"), this could be see as a new stage of Quincy Holy form, Lille's body become covered by a robe of light, and he grows totally 8 wings, at this form Lille's "X-Axis" is always on, so attack does not work on him, no matter it is Zanpakuto or Kido, and he could fire X-Axis attack from his body or wings, and it can fire multiple attack at once. The concept of this form is the one deliver God's Judgement, so sinner is facing an figure that can not be harm, attack can not be block, a totally one side battle that has no chance of winning, only lost all hope and face the light of Judgement in despair.

Shunsui's Bankai showed 4 stage of shows. The first is Ichidanme: Tameraikizu no Wakachiai, this name Tameraikizu means the nonfatal wound you cause on yourself during the suicide when you are too afraid, it is not fatal but painful, and no Wakachiai means share it together. This scene means the couple share the wound from one side's unsuccessful suicide. Bankai affect makes the person in range share the wound you caused on others. If you didn't harm your enemy before, then you won't receive wounds, that is why in this stage only Lille get hurt. Second is Nidanme: Zanki no Shitone, means the Pillow of Shame. the man feels shame for causing harm to his partner, cause him become incurably ill. The person get hurt during act 1 has spots appear all over the body, start to bleed and feel ill. The third is Sandanme: Dangyo no Fuchi, a classic couple jump to abyss together scene, after fall into the abyss, all of the target can not leave the water and will be drain Spirtual pressure. Since Shunsui also has ridiculous level Spiritual pressure, this scene he has advantage against most enemy. The last Shime no Dan: Itokiribasami Chizome no Nodobue (〆の段 糸切鋏血染喉, Final Act: Thread-Cutting Scissors upon a Blood-Streaked Throat), this scene is the cruel woman abandon the man and cut off tight the painful bond and end the thread of love. Shunsui uses a spiritual pressure thread cut off the enemy head and ended the tragic story. Just read the description of the content, you could tell how Shunsui feels about his life deep down in his heart.

The name of Shunsui's Bankai Kyōkotsu karematsusinju actually described its ability directly, "Karematsu" means Black pine tree, in Japanese traditional stage show, it often to have back ground to draw black pine tree on it, this part indicated Bankai's ability will related to a show that plays a sequence of scenes. the "Sinju" part means couple commit suicide together, or group suicide (more than 2 person). This hint the theme about the show that is about to play and how people would die from this Bankai. And also, just like in Shikai Shunsui also need to obey the rule of the game. During the Bankai, Shunsui is also play a role of a character in a tragic suicide show, so it also put a heavy risk on himself to go through his own Bankai. During this Bankai, it will expand the spiritual domain to affect all the target within range, which makes it dangerous to ally side as well, which is a reason Shunsui didn't use when they battle Aizen, it could kill other Captains as well. And even you didn't enter the range, simply touch the spiritual pressure is enough to make people feel despair and frighten.

Shunsui's mysterious Bankai Katen Kyōkotsu karematsusinju, this Bankai is very important because it is heavily related to the character nature of Shunsui. In Shikai, Katen Kyokotsu ability is to turn child's game into reality, player must follow certain rule to play game, this is match to Shunsui's impression of an easy going guy who does not take things seriously, think a relax and strong guy like him probably does not feel the pain of stress out. But when we goes to the Bankai, the theme suddenly turned from child's game for fun to adult's tragic story of lost, suicide, and pain. There is no joy, only despair in this Bankai. Shunsui still has more back story not reveal, but just look at TYBW part you can see Shunsui lost his friend, his teachers, his subordinates. Even they are at a war time, but what happened to Shunsui could easily tear anyone's heart apart, and he is been named to head Captain at this time, not only he can't express his own pain, but he need to motivate everyone to keep fighting. You could tell Shunsui is hiding all of his burden deep down that mask of "Relax and Joyful guy", and not let others know the darkness and pain he hide inside.

Lille Barro, Captain of the Royal Guard, Shrift "X-Axis", also claim to be the first Quincy to receive power and Yhwach's master piece, the man who is the closest to God. Lille's Power X-Axis has 2 way of use, the first way is on attack, Lille's attack would pierce anything between his gun and the target, make it impossible to guard, and the second way of use is his body could pass through any attack, basically makes normal attack no matter sword or Kido unable to harm him. However, Lille is unable to use the defend X-Axis unless both his eyes are open, but since his ability is too powerful, he is only allow to open his eye when he is about to be land attack for a moment, and only after he opened his eyes for 3 times he is allow to keep open it. Makes the battle become one side since his attack can't be block and the enemy attack can't hit him. During Lille's battle with Oetsu, there is a moment Oetsu had the chance to hit Lille but he noticed blade just pass through him and shocked about that, that is Lille opened his eye for a moment to avoid Oetsu.

They did this one so much justice, absolute theatre! =D Also, love how creative Shunsui's techniques are! =)

I've waited so long for this to be animated since reading the original manga chapter. Shunsui's Bankai is PURE CINEMA. Did not disappoint

Shunsui's Bankai is indeed an absolute cinema. His Bankai basically turns a play into reality. Fun fact, his Shikai is "play" for children, while his Bankai is "play" for grown-ups
