- The largest plane in the World, the mighty Antonov 225 Myria at Glasgow Prestwick Airport for a short fuel stop on Sunday 2cnd of August 2020. Sadly it was destroyed after Russia launched a series of missile attacks on #Ukraine on Thursday 24th February 2022.

I finally got the magical opportunity, along with thousands of other people, to see the huge Ukrainian giant Antonov 225 arriving into Prestwick from Bangor, USA.

Simply amazing, this aircraft.
Such an incredible shame that it was destroyed in the Ukraine war.
But in people's hearts she will
be unforgettable.

That day was better than most air shows I’ve been too. Seen a C17 landing, a 225 antonov land and takeoff, a few other planes. Then a CargoLux 747 takeoff.

Haha I totally agree. My fondest memories from when I was younger was visiting the viewing terrace at Newcastle Airport, or my Dad taking me up to Edinburgh Airport for the day. Loved it, and its what got me into aviation. Cheers mate.

Just caught sight of its tail as it flew into cloud over Morecambe bay,had to use flight radar app to be sure I had not imagined it.
Nice one David. I saw alot of people got photos of it flying overhead on its way to France after stopping off at Prestwick.

I noticed the reverse thrusters didn't open at the same time. Is that common with aircraft? I can understand inboard vs outboard opening at different times/rates, but I thought they'd be the same left-to-right.
It depends on the aircraft.
