The thing that I always admired about Rush, is that after all that time they were still genuinely friends and you can tell they are still genuinely having fun on stage and love each other. That’s what separates them from everyone else.
Snakes And Arrows Live is a awesome DVD. Another great DVD is Clockwork Angels Live. If you want Moving Pictures in its entirety live, you must get Time Machine Tour which was between Snakes And Arrows Live and Clockwork Angels Live. Nothing like a Rush concert.
That look from Neil at 5:26 gets me every team. You caught the nasty bass lick coming in from Geddy too, and that outro…. This song just gets better every time you listen to it. I am convinced that if this song came out during their Moving Pictures era, it would have been massive! Thanks!
In 1991 Neil Peart played the BUDDY RICH MEMORIAL CONCER. It's a BENEFIT for poor Drummers. Mr. Rich's Daughter said later in an interview that HER FATHER WOULD HAVE LOVED NEIL PEART!! You should do a REACTION to it!
One of my favorite RUSH tunes and one that is just badass LIVE!! Neil wrote this for his new wife at the time. They had just been married after he had lost his first wife to cancer a few years earlier.
About the chickens: before anyone repeats the urban legend that they are real and that they fed the crew or the homeless or whomever, the chickens are fake. This information comes from the mouth of Geddy himself in his recent autobiography "My Effin' Life". That said, the joke is that with the advent of new tech and massive improvements in the sound systems at the modern venues, Geddy no longer needed stacks of amps behind him and chose to utilize the house system, while Alex preferred his stacks. Geddy thought it looked unbalanced on stage, and also felt a good way to tease his buddy was to add odd things to his side to take up the space. Vending machines and Maytag dryers are but a couple of the items filling that side of the stage in the last 1/3 of their career. It was always fun to see what was going to be next and how they would incorporate the appliance into the show. The rotisserie chickens would see crew members dressed in costumes "basting" the chickens randomly during the show, or they would have honored guests do the task. Their sense of humor resonates well with the fans for the most part.
This was the album that was so poorly mastered and mixed originally that we needed to hear them live to appreciate it. Thankfully it got a full remixing and released which fixed so many issues. The album is pretty heavy for Rush and has become one of my favorites. Was a very important time in their history as it was the first album they did after Neil lost his daughter in a car crash and his wife from cancer. Glad someone recommended this song as it’s incredible. The bass playing is a lot of chords and insane. Still have no idea how he plays all this and sings ant the same time.
Vapor Trails was the album they remixed and re-released. I love their last three albums, Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, and Clockwork Angels. They were all pure rock.
I love this song and this performance especially! As for the backing vocals, I am almost positive they piped in Geddy's background vocals from the album --it sounds too much like him, and I have heard fans say that Alex's mic is either off or very low. That said, I have heard Alex sing background before (during the live performance of 'The Garden', for instance) and during the live performance of 'La Villa Strangiato from Rio, Alex does a bunch of vocal ad libs for fun.
As a mention. Most of the songs from Snakes and arrows follow Neil’s journey on his bike when he left after his wife and daughter died, but not in a direct way, but in an indirect way. Remember Neil writes the Lyrics to all Rush songs.
May i suggest a band you never checked in this channel and i really think you will love ?😀 The band is Propagandhi, and The song i recommend The most for starting The journey is called NIGHT LETTERS . You will have e lot of fun !.. and you will be amazed by this one!.. i am just a subscriber, but i hope you will consider My suggestion!.. i follow you since 2020. Thank you so much 🤝 James.
Secret Touch came from RUSH's worst sounding studio album - Vapor Trails. That isn't my subjective opinion - Geddy messed up in the studio. The album came out with distorted audio that only completely remixing it could fix - which did eventually happen around ten years later. Anyway, the one song that I think did not benefit from the remix was Secret Touch. It's the heaviest song on the album and the distorted audio suited it better.
This song always hits me in the feels, and is so heavy live. I saw Rush on the Snakes and Arrows tour.
That Geddy Lee bass tone is freaking amazing!!!
Such an awesome performance
A SICK song. Insane. Incendiary. Ripping. Blast-furnace rocking!! Badasses!

Right after this song came, Earthshine. A beast of a song and like another person stated that you should hear The Necromancer. So good!
WOW I DIDNT REALIZE RUSH STILL HAD IT IN THEM THIS LATE IN THEIR CAREER...THANKS FOR THE REACTION

You should have ❤😅
Alex's guitar work on this is phenomenal! One of my favorite Rush tunes.
The groove at 5:00 is one of my favorites from any of their songs 🤘🏼💯
Y'all didn't notice Alex's Barbie doll cheering section in front of his pedals. 😂

Geddy started to go through the sound board so to even out the stage he put washing machines or chicken ovens. Because Alex still had his stacks.
I love the discordance ---- when you're feeling that way you just have to go way in and through. Great tune!! Awesome performance 🔥🔥🔥
My fave from a great album, Vapor Trails. I love this performance! 🇨🇦
This is awesome !
Good job Alex!

Jam session.
💯 Rush songs seem like one big jam sessions and we’re here for it

Vapor Trails is that comeback album.
Vapor Trails was the album they remixed and re-released. I love their last three albums, Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, and Clockwork Angels. They were all pure rock.
But the song IS from the Vapor Trails album. So you're right about that.

You guys are up and down the Rush catalog. Try going back to Caress of Steel and The Necromancer. You'll be wrecked...guaranteed!

Some of their best work-I think-were songs off those last 3 albums, and ALL of Clockwork Angels.🤘🖖✌🥁🎸🎹🎤
🤗 Snakes & Arrows was a fun Tour! 😏 Worth the late fee on Rent because I was 😁 definitely going to see Rush! 🥰🐰
Plastic Chickens... Plastic Dinosaurs... Non-Plastic Music!!😁😁😁
This is actually my favorite song off of vapor trails
Still waiting on the My Last Creation by Gojira. You liked my comment one time and I’ve been looking every day since!
