Thanks so much for this video! Thought I had a major problem but turned out just took the aerator out and cleaned it and tightened her back with no more leaks! God bless. You made my day
You have to push the tab forward towards the mirror and at the same time inward and it will snap in. I just used a flat head screw driver to do it just now
Same faucet, same problem. Thanks for confirming what I already suspected was the cause. Figured I would need to replace the faucet but wanted to be sure before I took it out.
Thanks for the video so people were able to fix the issue by replacing the aerator and/or rubber seal. My faucet was installed a few days ago. Then I changed the aerator to different flow and found out I had leak from the lift rod. Removed it and now I could not put it back. The screw-on is female type and the thread is difficult to see. Now I can't use aerator but it did fix the leak. After trying hours on 2 days, I was able to put the aerator back and tighten it with wrench, no leak so far!
@@becausestuffbreaks I found leak again after my wife washed her face, female with makeup needs wash, wash, rinse, rinse.., a lot of water splash all over the the sink and the mirror. So the water got into the top lift rod hole (it is big and no protection/by-pass around the hole, and it is design flaw as my old facuet had a hole ring/wall) . Tonight , I put a small towel around the rod, it was almost wet, and no leak from the lift rod under the cabinet. I am thinking to cut a small short silicon piece to cover the hole or use shoe ties to cover and divert water to the sink. For now towel is ok and can be changed everyday with another dry one.
Finally someone figured this out, thank you, I have the same problem and was driving crazy, my problem now is that the lift rod spring won't stay on the pivot rod. Lol like my dad used to say problems comes in pair. God bless you.
Hey brother , took me 2 minutes to scroll down to finally find a solution. What worked for me was replacing the aerator and rubber seal. But this is the key , tightened just snug with a wrench so the seal can do it's job. If it wasn't for your video i wouldn't know why it was dripping in the middle of the faucet underneath. Thank you and God bless , you earned a subscriber
Thank you my friend same issue here. I also think the PVC piping they used leaks as well but it could be all this. It's definitely showing signs of leaking between the fixture and where the faucet mounts to the sink. It leaves a hard water stain around the edge I've used tissue paper I have to running the sink within an hour was soaked so that's problem number one. Thank you for the video hope you and your family had a blessed, safe and merry Christmas.
I had the same problem .I unscrewed the aerator and the housing and cleaned it.I also made sure the rubber o-ring was seated correctly then I tightened it real good and it fixed the problem..
Thank you, was looking for a video like this to confirm where the issue was. I have a similar awful sink. Replaced the aerator and rubber seal but still had the leaking issue. Found out on a forum that I could use two thin seals but still had the leak. It wasn't until I replaced the rubber seal with a nice thick one that it finally stopped leaking.
First person that could actually help. I had same problem. Drove me crazy. I called it and left aerator off for now. No leak at all Thank You dodo much. Any tricks on changed out a main shutoff
The rest of last post, gate velvet stuck in almost closed position a since I have spring water shut off other than this one way up in snow covered spring. Was looking for help. Called plumber and he charged 186.00 just to tell me wait until spring. SHAME on him to charge for nothing.
Go to this guy's channel and they can answer that kind of question because they are plummers. They have helped me several times. ua-cam.com/users/LegendaryDIY
when faced with the same situation, I found that the aerator washer was allowing some water to escape back through the spout instead of flowing through aerator. Replacing the washer and tightening the aerator solved the problem!
Thanks, I have an old, old faucet and it was doing exactly this, but much more exaggerated. I think the aerator was broken and the gasket is trying to shovel water into the faucet housing, making it flow out of the back of the faucet. I just removed the aerator and it's ugly, but it works.
Caught this today. Same faucet. No problem with leaking but I did try to change the aerator to get a better flow. I didn’t know at the time it was a cache tj size. Figured it was twist off and twist on. So I pulled down the metal backing and just as you, I can’t get it back in with those two metal tabs. Infuriating! Have you done it yet? I’m honestly willing to just trash it and get a whole new faucet!
Thanks from your video and the comments here all I had to do was replace the aerator. I noticed after watching your video... the stream of water from my faucet was not normal, after thinking about it, made sense that it would cause it to backup and leak from the lift rod, after replacing aerator I see a normal stream of water and no more leaks
I'm having the same problem with a 30 years young Kohler faucet. I searched everything under the sink, could not figure out what caused the leak. Tomorrow I'm going to check, never knew that the end of the faucet where the water comes out, has a screen.
@@becausestuffbreaks turns out my faucet is supergriff, and there was no aerator nor any screen at the end of the faucet, so I changed the whole faucet.
It turns out this is a very common thing when someone tries to put a bathroom aerator back on, hand-tightened. All that has to happen is just to screw the aerator on as hard as possible with some pliers.
thank you so much sir. i was about to start pulling the tap out and buy another one. Thank you especially for spreading the news of the gospel need Jesus more than ever in North America today.

Awesome! I need to do that.
yooo you just fixed my faucet. thanks legend
You fixed mine too !
How do you get the aerator out? Its so small?!?
You have to push the tab forward towards the mirror and at the same time inward and it will snap in. I just used a flat head screw driver to do it just now
I'll try that. Thanks!
Same faucet, same problem. Thanks for confirming what I already suspected was the cause. Figured I would need to replace the faucet but wanted to be sure before I took it out.
You could just change the aerator but it's probably going to do it again at some point in the future

I need to fix it right still. Thanks

Nice. I put a bowl under the sink for the days the kids go crazy with the water
Thank you Justin! I have super hard water in my town, this worked great!
You're welcome! Others in the comments said they fixed it by replacing the aerator. With hard water, the problem will probably just return
Finally someone figured this out, thank you, I have the same problem and was driving crazy, my problem now is that the lift rod spring won't stay on the pivot rod. Lol like my dad used to say problems comes in pair.
God bless you.
That faucet design is junk. Put a new one in. Glad I could help, God bless you too, and thanks for watching!

Thanks! Some people have cleaned or changed the aerator to fix this problem. Thanks for watching!
How did you get the back cover back in. I did the same and haven been trying for hours to put it back in
I couldn't. Someone in the comments explained how they did it

We’re you able to put back on that aluminum panel underneath the facet neck?
No. I need to try again. Plan on changing the aerator and then silicone around the gap
Ok thank you.

Where did you get the think rubber seal
How did you get the metal cover back in place? I’m having
a problem getting mine back in place. Any help would be appreciated.
Still haven't got it back on. Sorry

Great info. I need to seal mine completely off, so when my kids are playing with it, it doesn't go down it.

I should do that too. Thanks for the info.
Same! Old faucet and dripping much more. I removed the aerator (it was super clogged) and now it doesn't drip at all.
You’re the man I was looking all over the place for this damn video
Glad I could help. You can reply the aerator to stop the water from looping backwards

You can also change that screen. It's called an aerator. I should have just changed that. Let me know what you find.

Bad engineering

Once you just caulk in the area
That would be a solid fix
You didn't fix it. Waste of time. Anyone can replace a faucet without watching your video.
Sure
I changed the title to, patch job. More accurate
Booooooo
Boooooo what?
