Corrections: -You CAN actually get the Crypt Blacksword on your first playthrough by using a bonfire Ascetic to fight the NG+ version of The Rotten. -Also, I got the weapon requirements the wrong way round when I was describing the Greatswords of Artorias.
Bonfire Ascetics are one of the few mechanics I wish DID carry over from Dark Souls II. That and actually changing content from NG to NG+ (and not just when they have adds in the boss fights, those are lame).
@apolloisnotashirt sometimes it was a pain in the ass to get the tail off. Plus it was easy to miss. If you kill the boss then it's too late. Plus not all vosses have tails. It was a great feature though.
Something I think DS2 did exceptionally well is weapon design Alongside like Velstadt’s Hammer, I think Gyrm Great Hammer is an absolute highlight for me. Literally a massive anvil chained to a great mace.

DS2 is the GOAT when it comes to weapons, weapon variety, and build variety. DS1 and Demons Souls were great when it came to lore, world, and vibe, but they had whack variety, DS3 was just ass and Elden Ring was the culmniation of everything From ever learned.

Playing as a Sunbro while dual wielding the Crypt Ultra Greatsword and the Fume Knight's Ultra Greatsword never got old. Getting summoned in and raising them above your head is ❤❤❤❤
Something of note: due to several quirks of the DS2 weapon infusion system, the best infusion for any weapon with intrinsic scaling Dark damage is actually Bleed, as that massively increases how well the Int/Fth scaling affects the elemental damage.

Best boss item in DS1 is greatshield of artorias, it costs less stamina to block with it than to dodge roll lol. Too bad people haven't noticed it enough.
The DS3 Axe design just looks so damn clean. We have it in Elden Ring too, the Executioner's Greataxe, and it has THE highest critical AR if done correctly.
Correction at 10:14: The version of the Greatsword made with the Broken Straight Sword or Straight Sword Hilt is actually the non-cursed one. At least according to the Fextralife wiki.

Man, I am right there with you on your pick for Bloodborne; I’ve been a Moonlight user ever since first finding the hidden one in Armored Core 2. Its my favorite out of all of Fromsoft’s trope weapons (although I will say that BBorne’s iteration is a particularly awesome one). I’m actually really psyched; I just found it in AC6, and I can’t wait to figure out how to throw together a few different builds around it when I record the next episode :D When it comes to ER, my preferred version of the Moonlight is the Moonveil katana. I realize that there’s also the actual Moonlight Greatsword, but I prefer the look and move set of the katana over the greatsword. The only issue I have with it is finding the damn somber smithing stones to upgrade it, but maybe they’re more abundant later in the game than I’ve managed to get (I’ve only gotten as far as completing Liurnia). Another thoroughly excellent video, as always - can’t wait to see what you decide to cover next. Your writing and editing are continuing to improve with every new video, and each one is just as entertaining and enjoyable - if not more so - as the last. This is a tough one. 2 of my favorites are definitly the Farron Greatsword in DS3 and the Burial blade in BB. For the other games i'd have to think about it.
The Bewitched Alonne Sword and Ivory King Ultra Greatsword were some of my favorites, but I actually wound up using the Crypt Blacksword on my first playthrough, so it’s also got a special place in my heart. HARD agree on Gael’s Greatsword, the Dragonslayer Greataxe, and the Anyss Greatsword, though. I’ve done cosplay builds based on all three characters.
You really deserve more views and subs. There are so many of these "top 10 best farts from every souls game!" videos out there but they all (with some exceptions) feel so lazy and poor quality. You though have great opinions, a great voice, good editing, good length etc. You dont make dumb mistakes like playing the game once and just assuming things. You deserve more really. I remember running some duels with the dragon slayer executioner axe in ds3's dragon temple. That weapon art was the precursor to the ER vigor check i swear to god.
Great video. Tons of excellent picks. The Rakuyo is absolutely worth the complete bullshit you have to go through in order to get it. I go for more dexterity weapons over big damage weapons personally (except for DSII), but these are all excellent choices.
I am sure you know it already and just didnt show it in the video, but you can do a second attack with Morgotts curved swords aow to do another flaming spin and extend the combo. Sick ass weapon and also my choice for Elden Ring :D
there is a mod for Dark souls 1 that allows you to respec your level, pretty useful, unless you see it as cheat, I think it is a great way to experiment with new weapons on the same playthrough
I'm playing DeS Remake through again and seeing this video I farmed the Morion blade... which I can't wield because my spellsword build has literally neglected everything other than magic, hahaha My personal favourite boss weapon is the Frayed Blade. Looks unbelievably badass, hits *hard* and has all the structural integrity of a porcelain vase. I love the fact you have to beat an absolute bastard of a fight to get it too.
My favourites are DS: the Impaler's sword DS1: Quelaag's Furysword DS2: the dragon rider twin spear DS3: dragon slayer axe Bb: rakoyu ER: hand of malenia
Technically, Tonitrus is also a boss weapon, as the shadows of Yharnam use it. So there’s Rakuyo (Maria), Burial Blade (Gehrman), Tonitrus (Shadows), Hunters Axe (Gascoigne), Holy Moonlight Sword (Ludwig), Amygdalan Arm (Amygdala), Beast Claw (If you count it, then beast enemies), and the Kos Parasite (OoK).
I love friedes scythes, such a cool and unique weapon with interesting scaling (the ice attack scales with faith I think while the smaller scythe scales with int and the big one with dex I think). But my favorite souls weapon of all time had to be Ludwigs moonlight greatsword. It just looks SO good, perfect beautiful color and design, I wish they kept the traditional coloring in elden ring instead of making it dark blue and infused with ice magic.

For darksouls 2 Id also include the bow of want. the lightning spear arrow is just cool. and in elden ring, I feel like the ruins greatsword is often overlooked
To be fair Ds1 has less Boss Soul weapons because some bosses drop their weapons directly. Asylum and Taurus both drop their weapon directly, Gaping Dragon and Gargoyles have tail cuts. This means you can start getting boss weapons right away unlike the soul based ones where you have to reach a specific point in the game first.
Three weapons in and I'm noticing a pattern with these honorable mentions... they're all hammer type weapons so far =P Also, you forgot to mention that in Dark Souls II, the NPC you need to actually get the boss weapons can be easily missed by new players.

the thing about the dragonslayer greataxe is that the players version has a shorter handle, whilst the boss version has a proper halbertlike handle. always thought that it was weir how the handle changes size.
Honestly I rlly want to see a list of weapons which r underrated- they may not be the flashiest things but they bring something fun to the table - a random example could be the Guardian Swordspear from Elden Ring which mixes up the animation, or perhaps the Aquamarine Dagger from ds3 which is 👌
My list Demon's Souls: Hands of God or Dragon Bone Smasher DS1: Gold Tracer or just a good old greataxe or zweihander DS2: Dual smelter swords DS3: Frayed blade or RKSS BB: Pizza cutter Elden: Haven't played around with a whole lot, but I think Starscourge and Cragblade look the sickest which is appropriate for coming from the 2 sickest bosses in the game and 2 of the sickest in the series Bonus round Sekiro prosthetics: Axe for its chunky attacks and fearsome burst damage. Shuriken gets an honourable mention because of the aggressive pressure it can apply@
Friede’s scythe snubbed in ds3, special and graceful looking moveset? Check. Amazingly cool weapon art that costs 0 FP on the attack combo? Check. Frost damage? Check. Edgewalking potential? Super check. Great range and damage? Check. Sweet spot mechanic with scutches? Check
It's pretty widely accepted that the greatsword is a tribute to one or two of Guts' swords. But the crypt blacksword has way too many differences to be an homage. Don't get me wrong, it's a badass sword, but the bright crossguard and pommel, the cool Celtic knots in the fuller, the thing outlining the fuller, the raised line going down the middle of the fuller, the fact that the fuller is so recessed, and the gold piece near the tip make me think it's just a cool sword. Not Guts' sword.
When getting the knight’s honor trophy in ds1 i accidentally forged the same artorias sword twice since it had no distinction in the menu and had to go into ng+++

Elden: Haven't played around with a whole lot, but I think Starscourge and Cragblade look the sickest which is appropriate for coming from the 2 sickest bosses in the game and 2 of the sickest in the series

Sekiro prosthetics: Axe for its chunky attacks and fearsome burst damage. Shuriken gets an honourable mention because of the aggressive pressure it can apply@

Friede’s scythe snubbed in ds3, special and graceful looking moveset? Check. Amazingly cool weapon art that costs 0 FP on the attack combo? Check. Frost damage? Check. Edgewalking potential? Super check. Great range and damage? Check. Sweet spot mechanic with scutches? Check
It's pretty widely accepted that the greatsword is a tribute to one or two of Guts' swords. But the crypt blacksword has way too many differences to be an homage. Don't get me wrong, it's a badass sword, but the bright crossguard and pommel, the cool Celtic knots in the fuller, the thing outlining the fuller, the raised line going down the middle of the fuller, the fact that the fuller is so recessed, and the gold piece near the tip make me think it's just a cool sword. Not Guts' sword.

When getting the knight’s honor trophy in ds1 i accidentally forged the same artorias sword twice since it had no distinction in the menu and had to go into ng+++

My take on Elden ring Godfrey axe and the black blade are the ones I consider tho coolest cuz of the lore

For dark souls one, you can get the asylum demons club and the gargoyls tail axe
You can actually get those 4 weapons from ds2 on your first playthrough with bonfire ascetics
