I agree. Lenore was just a good soul caught up in circumstances that were out of her control. It also showed that Verna was not completely evil. She was simply collecting on a debt owed. She told Lenore of all the good that would be done because of her which I saw as Verna showing admiration of her. She says "your actions will ring throughout the lives of millions". I think that in a way, Verna was impressed by her bravery. So much so that she gave her a quick and painless death.
@@grantsarette6017 I don’t know if I’d say Verna is evil. I take it that she is meant to be a symbol or personification of death. I definitely see she has a dark and somewhat sinister nature to her, but I think it’s to represent the overall fear people have about death. But even those she has to claim in gruesome and horrific ways, she always laments how this didn’t have to be their fate. Lenore was soo innocent. When she was telling her how her mom would pull through then start a charity in her name 😢 this show was fantastic and frightening
I think Lenore had the most merciful death is because she was not self serving. Each of the siblings were doing something self serving that determined their fate. Like Camille uncovering the apes wasn’t to save them, it was for exposure to move up a place.
The most memorable death for me was Perry...I got chills when the brothers wife didn't heed the warning "go now!" Always trust a gut feel or warning of inner voice. I also felt bad for the daughter in Goldbug...Mr Usher truly ruined his kids emotionally. Over a truly great show and great breakdown 😊 Edit: I love how Pym denied the deal like a boss 💪.
I also kinda felt bad for the goldbug daughter. While she was emotionally abusive to her husband(?)/business partner, it seemed to all stem from a place of deep issues of self image and perfectionism/control. But in a way where you could tell at times she truly wanted to change. Like when Bill (possibly verna disguised as bill, not sure) comes and returns the keys. She finally opens up and admits she's not okay and shows vulnerability. But he's not there to hear when she looks towards him. That to me shows that she at least had some potential to grow. The scene where she talks with her dad's new wife and finally shows some empathy for the first time also shows a slight change in her character. Also the look on her face as the shards came down on her. To me it seemed like she realized the mistakes she made. But it was too little too late and that's the tragedy of it I suppose. We never know how long we have in life to acquire redemption. And sometimes it's easier to fall back on the unhealthy patterns that we develop for survival
Call me crazy, but I think Camille's death was the scariest. Most people don't understand just how ruthless and violent a chimp can be. And it would've been even scarier if she were a man, to be honest.

So I was thinking more about the construction of classical tragedy. How the tragic errors lead to retribution and punishment. But not necessarily "good and evil."
I thought it was telling how Verna gave all the kids basically an out, except for the one good Usher kid, Lenore. I think the point there was that the collective damage of evil-doing and lust for power claims innocent victims.
The Perry scene needed to be explained a little bit more from Verna's side. I wonder why so many people were lead to this fate? Even if they were degenerates like Perry, I'd assume they all didn't have deals with Verna. It also kind of (at least to me) showed a bit of an inconsistency with Verna's motivations / character. As this was the only death sequence in the series that had mass casualties, and involved other people that weren't directly supposed to die. Were all the men & women in the sex party supposed to be bad people who deserved it? Its kind of inconsistent to Verna later on when she does show signs of remorse for her actions, and even empathy towards some of the characters, or a sense of justice as with her disgust on "you had to use the pliers"
I think Verna's speech to Perry about consequences, specifically her line about Perry being the consequence of Rodericks actions. The whole tragic incident of the acid rain can be traced back to Rodericks actions: Perry's apparently unchecked access to his fathers money led to him developing the hedonistic lifestyle that made him want to make the sex club, and Fortunato's shady buisness practices were the whole reason the acid waa hidden in that buiding. A rich idiot with more money than sense not caring about safety bc he thinks he's too rich to fail winding up dying horribly and taking other people down with him is something that happens irl without supernatural forces, just look at OceanGate and the Titan sub
I understand that, it just seemed a little inconsistent that some people were given a heads up or influenced to leave while others weren't. Like why did Morrie get a warning? I know she ends up doing great things with her life that benefit humanity, but it didn't seem like Verna (in general) cares about what humanity does or doesn't do. I think that is a really great point. The entire sex club tragedy scene/Masque of the Red Death story did make me think about how dangerous it is when people have too much money and no conscience. I mean, the whole show did too. But particularly that scene.
This also had been nagging at me since I finished the show. If I had to wager a guess, I'd say is because out of all the siblings' deaths, Perry's was the one that Verna had the least amount of input. I low-key wanted someone to change fate verna sealed for the ushers. Like ifvone person actually listening to her set off a chain reaction of preventing death
I agree but I think that is the true point of the show. How power and money corrupt and claim innocent victims and bystanders. That is what makes her death even more tragic.
Tamerlane usher death was most cinematic death. On the bed with the slow motion of glasses falling onto her. Just a masterpiece scene. As well as, i felt sorry for morelle.
The Ali character was 1000% correct about the Ushers. They are monsters. That being said, the actors portraying the Usher children did an excellent job in making me dislike them. When their deaths happen, it wasn't something to feel bad about. A fitting end to each. Frederick's death though, was extremely satisfying considering him being the worst of them. His death was nightmare fuel. The one death that saddened me was Lenore. I really hoped that Verna would have decided to spare her. Once Verna laid out the future to her, I knew. At least it was instant. No pain or fear or suffering, just gone.

Awesome explanation
I just needed to know how eveyone died i got confused
I low-key wanted someone to change fate verna sealed for the ushers. Like ifvone person actually listening to her set off a chain reaction of preventing death
I definitely cried when Lenore died. She's the only one that did not deserve to go.. I thought she was going to spare her, but no🥲.
I agree but I think that is the true point of the show. How power and money corrupt and claim innocent victims and bystanders. That is what makes her death even more tragic.
Yep rodrick totally destroyed his children
Excellent analysis.
Why is the video so choppy?
It’s clip outs from my individual separate videos
Tamerlane usher death was most cinematic death. On the bed with the slow motion of glasses falling onto her. Just a masterpiece scene.
As well as, i felt sorry for morelle.
I was thinking the exact same thing. The production was very aesthetic.
Amazing video
appreciate it Vicky
Favorite death was Freddy
Death that bothered me the most was perry
Best dead child to mess with Roderick was Tammy
Perry’s death bothered me cuz he was so cute 😢
I woulda perferred a holistic overall review, not the copy and paste thing. :/
I have a review for each episode that breaks down everything -

This show was amazing! Love how you broke it all down.
