tip** you have to reinforce the chassis rear suspension mound in order to avoid a huge damage. the car is originally made to take the load at spring housing (separate sping and leg) . now you have the spring and the leg combined so you have changed the weight distribution to the leg's housing. the chassis there is really weak and needs extra reinforcement in order to deal with the whole rear ends load. otherwise someday the sunspension would penetrate the chassis. i did it before and none stopped me and i conclude with a huge chassis damage. btw my coilovers were XYZ and car is ke70-coupe, same chassis with AE.
@@leveledupgarage5303 I’m assuming you’d want to get a clamp with ID that is slightly smaller than the shock body other wise it wouldn’t really clamp down when fully tightened?
They seem to be holding up well. However I did use a spring rate that was meant for a heavier car so it's a bit too stiff for my liking. If this was a full on race car it'd be great. I may try some softer springs soon. I don't have the part number, but you can just measure whatever shock you are using and just Google "locking pipe collars" and there's plenty of stuff. Can probably go on amazon as well.
Interesting conversion! How do you think the body of the shock will hold up under the weight of the whole rear end? Also, do you think the bolt where the shock bolts to the axle will hold out? I've fitted my ae86 with a ksport rear coilover conversion and am not comfortable with the strength of that single bolt taking the weight of the whole rear end so I made a bracket which I know will do the job.
I'll be honest. I'm not loving it. The shock towers worry me. I've hit a few bumps that made me stop and inspect. It was a fun easy project but I'm going to be switching over to the battle garage setup. I'll keep these shocks for now and just use the adjustable spring perch style.
I've owned a 81 wagon (leaf springs) and 80 liftback Corona's. This will 100% work on the rear I have swapped axles between 79-84 celicas 79-82 corona's and 80-87 corollas. Celicas and Coronas use the same 6.7 rear and same width as the gts corolla. All use same exact 4 link set up with spring perches etc. I'm using my 1980 corona autozone warranty kyb suspension on my te72 corolla. Fits all the same unless you have a station wagon.

Very good point
Hey interesting point, trying to convert my wagon, any idea how to reinforce?? Open to any suggestions my friend.
@@CorollaManDan breeze fab makes reinforcement plates.
I'm actually going back. I'm going to be using an adjustable perch with a spring and short stroke socks.
I like your style, feel like im the same way. Might give this a try
It's definitely worth it
You just gave me an idea hehehe thanks for posting this :)
Haha glad to help
Hahaha.. thanks for the ideas man.. might try it with mine also.👍👍
sup mate, i loved your vid, ¿didn't you had any problem until now? im really interested about follow your tutorial with my 80' corolla
Thanks. No problems besides the springs I used are a bit too stuff. Other than that they are good.
Music should be turned way down. Like to off. Lol
This is good input haha. Thanks.
@@leveledupgarage5303 hey I'm honest. But I'm glad to see people out there trying stuff, shared knowledge is great
Hey I have the same shocks. Can you tell me what size collar you used?
It's just the diameter of the shock itself. I'd have to go measure to verify.

Yeah that makes sense
What model of Camaro was those AGX shock suites to? We’re they the correct length for the ke70 / AE86 strut towers?
They are from a 3rd gen camaro. Yeah they bolt right up
What's the link for the collar? This is awesome man!
Wish I could tell you. Those came with a car I bought. It's just a standard locking collar. Can be bought online. Just gotta know the shock diameter
Hey boss what are those black rings that hold up the coils up on the shocks
Yo. They are just locking pipe collars. Pipe clamps or whatever you choose to search.
Leveled Up Garage how they holding up?
Leveled Up Garage do you have a link to where you got them or was it an in store buy?

A tip : you can watch movies on Kaldrostream. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Shepard Princeton yup, I've been using kaldrostream for years myself :)

What lip?
What kind of rear axle do you have on there?
He said it was GT-S rear, I believe.
Yeah it's a AE86 GTS rear end
would this work on an 81 Corona?
I don't think so. You got a completely different suspension setup that requires some different stuff. You got leaf springs.
