Here in Australia these were sold as both Nazda 323s and badge engineered and sold as Ford Lasers. Great video. Have a good week. Marc from Australia 🇦🇺
Also the larger Mazda 626 was marketed by Ford as a Telstar for the sedan and the hatch sports model was a Telstar TX5. The sports model Laser Hatch was A TX3.
lol you read my mind. as soon as you said you had bought a set of coilovers for another car i thought i wonder how he makes the decision. Anyway other than it being a 5 door the styling of the old 323 was pretty cool
Great cars Josh, i used to have a D reg 323 1.6i the model below the 4x4 turbo. Was an import and very rare when i had it. I used to have some great races on the streets in the 90's was epic. Was fully loaded with liquid crystals dash, cruise control, electric windows, electric sunroof and mirrors. Great for an old motor then. Was diamond cut alloy wheels boot spoiler looked great. Really nice to drive. Great video as always and craftsmanship from yourself.
Good Afternoon Josh. Your Skill and Ability to do that Incredible Fabrication is really Good. I was Impressed by your Coil Over Springs on the Mazda 323. The vehicle does have a very Good stance now on the ground. Has a very Lovely kerb side appeal to her. Your Narration is really Up to the point. You are very Good at Explaining Methods and ways to carry out certain Garage jobs on a vehicle. Thank you very much Josh. ☺☺🤓🤓👍👍👍👍👍👍
K-Sport sells coilovers for the BF chassis 323, but they come at a hefty pricetag. Loving your process tho, power to the people! Rudeboy Customs from Canada makes adapters, to weld to struts with axle stubs. Then the S13 fronts can be bolted on unmodified!
Yeah I do been watching your UA-cam for a while. I would love to lower my van at some point but I think on mine you have to turn the beam upside down to get it lower on the rear 😅😅
Long time follower first time poster. That's a great thing to know about these steel bottom mount coilovers. Now my brain is a flood with ideas. Although I tend to buy VW with alot of aftermarket support already. But handy to know for the future. Are these the same style of coilovers for the infamous (Gresswell 6n subaru mega-low sump-smasher coilovers) keep up the videos.
Holy shit that's mad, i have 2 of these and been considering doing similiar thing, but got put off by the rear ones, i will definitivelly have to do this :D, mad respect for showing how it's done
Much respect for the art of lowering odd cars. Thank you for your service, mr. Gresswell. Quick question: How to you calculate the spring rate suited to each car. In this example, I would believe an S13 is heavier than a 323, so the ride quality must suffer, creating a harsh and bumpy ride. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for the looks, but driveability is also a factor in this. edit: you covered the spring rate at the end of the video. oops!
Josh, We specifically produce LEDs for auto. I was wondering if we probably could work on something together,If yes. Is there a way to connect with you?
Found your channel from Taylor hetherington from auto alex and I love your content. This is what's lacking in uk fabricating UA-cam keep up the work mate
The older mazda 323 was better they was rear wheel 1.3 i had one as a autograss class 2 raceing car and was great back in the 90s don't surprise me that you fabricate them and weld them i never chopped springs to lower a car but know people who did you love it when comes to lowering cars mate 👍
A couple subs in the rear would balance out the springs 🤓 Looks superb, my mate had one in the late 90s - never liked it - however, yours does look a tidy one.
Nice work the only thing I’d have done differently is to utilise the new top mounts by re drilling the top body mounts to accommodate the adjustable ones ….. top work all the same 👍
@@Joshwaa___ i wonder if they're short enough, stock at ride height is about 35cm from botton to top mount so really short, and needs to go about 40-50mm lower
Can we set up a go fund me for Josh to get some lens wipes for his glasses! They are always filthy 😁
Custom tinted buddy 😂
Probably ruined coatings
They’re ruined 🤣🤣🤣
Can we do one to buy him a drill press and some cutting compound
The Bob Ross of slamming hatchbacks.
😂😂
Best welder and fabricator ive seen on youtube for a log time 👍👍
Thanks!!
You’re a master at lowering and welding Josh. Loving your work 😎👍
Thanks 👍

Great video Josh, Great work 👏

What van is it Miles?
Amazing! I’m currently building some coilovers for my smart 451 as I don’t fancy spending more than the car’s worth on suspension
Still digging the death wheel I see... Lessons obviously haven't been learnt😅

So how would you go about coilovers for a mercedes w202? As their fitting is totally different

Great result buddy, the Mazda sits lovely now!

Mad skills... The car looks very nice .
You make it look like a walk in the park. Can't wait the summer to start de rusting my shitbox 😅

Amazing welding skills. Great video Josh👍👍👍
Absolutely smashing it!! Really enjoying all your videos. Love the fact you don’t have a camara crew and everything is done on the go 👍🙌🙌🙌
Nicely done. Looks great with the meaty tyres and small wheels, gives it a track weapon vibe.

Nice… rally design used to sell coil over conversion threaded tube and spring seats to convert your existing strutt but I prefer your way

Love your videos josh sooo satisfying to watch mate you deserve to do well x
There was also thousands sold here in Australia more as Fords than Mazdas.
That looks pretty good ngl

Have you got any advice on what welders to buy for home DIYers?
R tech is great!
That fit though!!!!!
That’s mint! Watched a few videos now and you’ve inspired me to get a welder and have a go 😂

Got an idea for really short coilovers? Need some for my Suzuki
these are short!
@@Joshwaa___ i wonder if they're short enough, stock at ride height is about 35cm from botton to top mount so really short, and needs to go about 40-50mm lower
