GOAT commercial. So simple and short. But Jimmie chasing the legends is so emotional, and now, He's there with them. Imma have to show this to my grand children some day 😭
Everyone talks about "Petty " and "Earnhardt" being in this commercial ... but doesn't anyone ever notice Cale Yarbourough at the beginning of this commercial? He was the 1st to win 3 titles in a row (76-78) ... so its fitting he's starts the commercial as Jimmie won 5 in a row, surpassing his record of consecutive titles by 2 .... and THEN, now going after (and eventually tying) Petty and Earnhardt.
As a diehard Gordon fan... Jimmie Johnson getting to do this commercial is the thing I am most jealous of from his entire career. IMO this is the best Nascar video promo ever made and the 24 car is nowhere to be seen... breaks my heart. What makes things even worse for me is that Bowyer's car is in this video... Clint freaking Bowyer.
Yeah it's fucking bullshit and disrespectful Gordon isn't in it. And honestly I count Gordon above Johnson. Look how much Johnson fell off after he and Knaus broke up. Gordon won with multiple crew chiefs and will still end up with more career wins than Johnson, who only got majority of his "championships" because of points getting reset the final 10 races. Haven't watched a full NASCAR race since Gordon ran at Bristol in the 88 car and came all the way from California to do so. Lost all interest after they made all the changes. With that said, this promo is good.
i agree with everything you said but i gotta admit,, jj was ah beast lol 💯... tbh he stopped gordon from winning more championships && im a diehard gordon fan too
@@devantemathis6981 I see it more as NASCAR, and more specifically Brian France, stopped Gordon from winning more championships. Yes, Jimmie performed better in the Chase, for 10 races, but the real problem is a system in which a guy could dominate - theoretically he could win the first 26 races of the season - and still not win a championship. NASCAR lost so many fans, including myself, because we realized how much they began manufacturing drama all in an attempt to try and compete with the NFL later in the season when the NFL was starting and NASCAR couldn't just be happy with the second most popular sport in America. And rather than admit their failures and revert to the previous format - like MLB did with that temporary moment of the All-Star game determining home field advantage in the World Series - Brian France doubled down and decided to break up the Chase into segments. And now the races themselves are broken into segments LOL. Imagine if a marathon runners were all stopped 3 times during the race so everyone could be grouped back together. Absolute ridiculous and not true racing. What NASCAR has become makes me think of what a group of drunk college frat boys would've implemented. Except Brian France and company ACTUALLY did it. And now the sport has become all but obsolete compared to its glory days. Don't let the recent events and boost in interest make you think otherwise. The only hope for NASCAR and I guess is their goal now, is that new generations who grow up only knowing what it has become in its current format, will sustain it and new fans come into the sport.
@@sadbravesfan I respectfully disagree with Gordon being ahead of Johnson. Gordon even said himself in an interview Jimmie was the greatest he’s ever raced against. Mark Martin used to think Jimmie was a product of Hendrick equipment until he drove for them and realized that guy is the real deal. Gordon was great for his time, but if he was as great as people made him out to be, he would’ve still found a way to win those championships in the most competitive era of nascar. He had the opportunity in 2007 but Johnson said nope and racked off four straight wins and put him away. What I can say is Johnson, Pearson, Gordon and I will even throw Kyle Busch (dislike him) in the conversation as the most talented drivers ever. They could win and be consistent anywhere. Earnhardt was a wheelman on the short tracks and superspeedways but the mile and a half’s and road courses he wasn’t a standout. Richard was great for his time, but when 90% of the field is basically running Rick Ware equipment to his Hendrick equivalent equipment, of course you’re going to dominate. Johnson won in so many different cars, he won in every playoff format, rookie year was his only year with the old style points and even then he had the points lead heading into October, as a ROOKIE before some mechanical failures costed him his chance. In the 12 years they raced against each other Johnson bested him 9 of those 12 seasons in the standings. Gordon is a top 4 driver ever, but he falls short of JJ.
@@ryanderke8678 of course Gordon would say that. He's one of the most humble drivers in NASCAR. And when the last 10 tracks of the Chase are majority cookie cutting ovals that favor Johnson's driving style then of course he has an advantage. Imagine if half the Chase races were road courses. Gordon would've smoked everybody year after year. That's why the Chase format is a joke because it wipes out everybody's cumulative performance over the entire season that encompasses a variety of different tracks and driving styles. Also let's not forget Gordon won more races and was competitive even until his last race where he had a chance to win the championship whereas as soon as Johnson lost Knaus, he dropped like a rock and wasn't competitive at all his last several seasons while Gordon had to drive under 5 different crew chiefs, wining with all of them. Imagine if Gordon had even half the time with Evernham as Johnson had with Knaus. I'll take Gordon at his peak from 97-99 over anybody in history, where he won over 30%, or 1 out of every 3 races, over a span of three seasons. Absolutely mind-blowing.
